If I don't get the Chance We shared moments amazing if only to us unrecognized by the world Very sure Heaven or Hell paid attention to every detail we unfurled Like a flag or tapestry in pride Good times/bad times bonded us in every pact we abide If I don't get the chance I'll take this time to say goodbye in the wanting of a sweet hello on the other side My childhood friends have become my only friends today We forgive each other's faults and ugly things we say If I don't get the chance I'll take this time to say goodbye in the wanting of a sweet hello on the other side We laughed together like fools cried together through the pain When all seemed lost yet gained even when I went insane If I don't get the chance I'll take this time to say goodbye in the wanting of a sweet hello on the other side The past has passed just want to thank you all for standing by me Happy you answer when I call If I don't get the chance I'll take this time to say goodbye in the wanting of a sweet hello on the other side Gordon Stoeffler copyright 10.6 2017
Quartet vs. overdubs. He said at the time he was interested in the possibilities of the reduced forces; and I gotta say this remains my fave band of his.
He should do this song on every tour. It is one of his best!
Best album this guy could came out with
Sting: Vocals and Bass Guitar
Dominic Miller: Guitar
Vinnie Colaiuta: Drums
David Sancious: Keyboards
Savage lineup
Vinnie colaiuta is such a monster drummer !
What a phenomenal live performance, hat's off to Sting and his collaborators.
my favorite solo album from him...
mine, too
Mine too
mine too
mine too...lets see how long we can go with the mine toos
Mine, too. I, still, think it would have been funnier,. if it were spelled "Soulo Album." Party pouper
Such an underrated album
I was there!! Great show!!!
Saw this tour at the Spectrum in Philly. Sting at his best with a group of highly talented musicians.
This and Synchronicity, gold.
had the opportunity to see this band live in Athens...man that was so good
Masterpieces
Superb!!!

Temasoo
This body is a soul cage
What's the reference in the bass line at the end? Weather Report?
Ah, I remember now, Miles Davis!
Miles Davis - In A Silent Way

My childhood friends
have become my only friends today
We forgive each other's faults
and ugly things we say
If I don't get the chance
I'll take this time to say goodbye
in the wanting of a sweet hello
on the other side
We laughed together like fools
cried together through the pain
When all seemed lost yet gained
even when I went insane
If I don't get the chance
I'll take this time to say goodbye
in the wanting of a sweet hello
on the other side
The past has passed
just want to thank you all
for standing by me
Happy you answer when I call
If I don't get the chance

in the wanting of a sweet hello
on the other side

What is this shit
That with just a foursome, sweet 😊
Seems thinner than the studio version.

yes, beauty of life playing expressing talent, avoiding routine, making it fun for them first ;)
Amanda Trojan studio version is heavier. Way better
I believe that is Jeff Porcaro on drums. Most likely in between tours with Toto and or recordings.
Running Goat Vinnie colaiuta was the drummer for this tour and still currently plays with Sting
Thanks, my eyes are deceiving me.
As always a great lyrical story
there were a lot of simmilarietes between them, two great sessions drummers
funny thing is Toto was touring during this exact time, month and year, and they ran into sting during the tour, and had a blast @@unkind78
I love this song, but this live version is like a empty valley.... That difference between studio version and this cheap version
Pliz sting dont do jazz
