My GC160 starts good but after running about 30 sec, it just stops. When it stops the choke closest to the engine suddenly closes. Could that be the fuel pump? I tested the fuel pump and it squirted gas out with carb tube disconnected so I as thinking the fuel pump works. I cleaned the carb and put in new gas. It seems to run smooth when it does run for the 30 seconds or maybe a little shorter than 30 seconds.
Hi Im rebuilding my gc160 motor for a pocket bike I haven't tested the pump if it works I noticed it doesn't have in the center the cork looking material do you know if that is important, I'm going to test the pump if it works I won't worry about replacing great video

How do you know fuel pump is good or bad? Mine gas goes to the carb but it doesn’t start. So it is not pump then?

Does it help if you activate the choke? Have you tried spraying brake cleaner in the throat of the carburetor?
What does the center tube in the fuel pump do?
