As aggressive as it is, Kenpo is a beautiful art. The fluidity and speed are amazing.

Dang it's been awhile since I've seen this. GM Larry is awesome isn't he? Clyde O'Briant isn't too shabby himself.
Forgot how old these are. Larry is only a seventh there.

To everyone answering to those who don't think that kenpo doesn't work in a Street fight , please stop wasting your time you can't empty your brains in order to fill up theirs 😉. Let them stay with their arrogance and pray they never learn the hard way.

To many moves no one can use all that on the streets people approach people faster

no one who studies kenpo is going to use all those moves in a real fight. The techniques presented in the program is to teach people how to formulate, but in reality a hit or two will be no more

Obviously Mr. Sheehan dosen't understand "Real Kenpo" which can appear to be Esoteric to onlookers. The concepts and applications take into account by the defender the "Ideal" situation, the "what if" variations of attack by the assailant, and then the on the spot "formulation" on the part of the defender. It is this element of "sophistication" the gives American Kenpo its own unique characteristics which contributes to its "effectiveness".
Also, in response to an attack, the defender is Not just randomly attempting to hit and/or strike the attacker in a wild uncontrollable manner. On the contrary, sensitive vulnerable anatomical "Targets" are the primary "Focus" , "Intent" , and "Aim" which is the definitive response by the defender.
In various Self-Defense encounters utilizing the appropriate effective response would be calculated to perhaps 2 to 3 moves. However, the attacker could be under the influence drugs and/or the attacker could have a "Level 4" mental health condition which may require the defender to execute a vast array of moves perpetually to successfully defend themselves and Kenpo provides that "Dynamic" by teaching and cultivating the defender to execute techniques in non-stop perpetual motion to insure one's "Survival" during an unprovoked attack.
Perhaps the most effective technique is "Awareness" of one's "Environment" at All Times. Kenpo is a No Nonsense, Realistic Approach and Response to Effective Self-Defense that we may encounter in the "Streets" on a Global 🌐 in general and in the American 🇺🇲 environment in particular!!
That being said, one should be ready and prepare for Less "Hocus-Pocus" and more "Focus" in a Self-Defense situation and American Kenpo Will Prepare one to Respond with Realistic Solutions . In the Words of The Founder of American Kenpo, Senior Grandmaster Edmund Kealoha Parker:
"He who Hesitates, Meditates in a Horizontal Position"....
      Much Respect!!

It's not meant to be - they're drills teaching you how to go from one scenario to another and how to blend in different moves/strikes once you know them all

Neither is shadow boxing, hitting a heavy bag, focus mitts, or drilling BJJ techniques for form. Yet, the arts still seem to work.
