I wish I knew about this sooner because I did relax my natural year after 7 years of being natural and girl.......the upkeep of a relaxer was hard!! As a result, I big chop and I am now on my natural hair journey part 2!! Ladies, leave the relaxer alone and find a better solution, please take it from me! Thank you Jade for this video!
Same story here! This is my 4th going natural after being natural for 5 years last time. Try to stick it out til you find the right products and get in the right groove ladies!
Hope you’re still on this path. More and more are going back now.
I just got the Design Essentials Strengthening Treatment System today for the first time. It made my hair really straight and soft. My stylist did state it lasts up to 12 weeks as your stylist mentioned. She did suggest for me to try that before I reconsidered going back to hair relaxers. I’ve been natural for some years now, and in the past I went back and forth with going natural and putting a relaxer back in my hair several times. I really want to stay natural this time and hope this design essentials system works. Your hair turned out pretty in this video.
A year later would you recommend?
I was thinking of going back to relaxers and this saved me! I have beautiful curls and my hair straightened like silk. I can wear my hair either way now!❤
Any update?
I love STS. It should be more popular than what it is
Finally someone answer my question. It doesn't affect the curls🙏
Jade I love your hair. Color and cut are beautiful! It still looks so full and healthy. I definitely understand the change.
Yes i love this because i have my moments with my hair as well.
Love her cut and color!! Gorgeous!!
Thank you for this video. Im about to get one in a few days and i been having anxiety that it will damage my curls. However i really need mt hair to be more manageable and stronger! I lose a lot of hair every wash day, it gets so detangled and it all started in 2022. 2019-2021 my hair was manageable but then i moved and it all changed. Anywho, thank you for making this video!
Just got my first sts treatment last Friday, and love the results so far!
What were your final thoughts
Any update?
I've been using Design Essentials Relaxer on and off for years and had no issues and hair is very smooth and soft. I also use DS Composition Foaming wrap lotion topped with some Kemi Oil. Works wonders. I don't even have to flat iron iron. I just finger it..
Your hair is beautiful, loved it super curly with the length and love this look on you as well. I was wondering, if you have had to experience it lately, how does you hair hold up against humidity following a treatment?
Your hair looks great!! I wish there was a directory of stylists 😫
How long have you been using it and how to maintain it
Oooh Ooh Wee....your hair is absolutely fabulous!!!!!
I started washing my hair every single day with a lot of conditioner, and to me it’s the equivalent of relaxer but natural. The trick is to apply the conditioner and the hair the same way you would’ve relaxer and use a ton of it. And it makes my silk press super super straight. I’m still trying to figure out how to make it last, and I will never need relaxer again.
is the hair curly or straight when you wash?
what kind of conditioner do you use?
mine was curly with straight sections which i didnt like. Uts unpredictable @leah8071
Curls popping‼️‼️‼️‼️
Can this system be used on short hair like a pixie cut? And also can you revert back to a perm? If so how long do you have to wait?
If you're sensitive to protein or have low porosity it may not do well for you. We tried it 2xs and the first time it came out really well, the 2nd time it wasn't the same at all and the texture was different. So just be careful, everyone will have a different experience of course.
Ooo could you elaborate more? I just got one about 3 weeks ago! I have low porosity, fine hair. So far, I’ve experienced some loosening of my curl pattern which isn’t what I really wanted. And it didn’t necessarily help with humidity either. Is there anything I should know?
@@gardenflower620low porosity hair doesn’t need as more protein as high porosity hair. The hair shaft is lifted when you have high porosity hair. Protein/keratin smooth the hair shaft and build the bonds. Which is really needed for high porosity hair. Low porosity hair shaft isn’t lifted/damaged therefore it doesn’t need the same care to repair like high porosity hair. Hopefully this makes sense.
Does this work for all hair types? Or is it more suitable for looser curl patterns?
It isn’t necessarily about the curl pattern but the hair porosity. Those with high porosity need such treatments regularly. But getting these treatments regularly on low porosity hair would cause damage.
@@IAmHisBeloved5hey why would it cause damage? I guess I'm low porosity since my hair takes forever to soak up water when I'm showering...
@@b.e.a.m99 keratin helps to restore protein balance and the hair bonds. Low porosity usually isn’t damaged. Therefore it doesn’t need keratin and bond building treatments. Giving it something it doesn’t need will negatively affect it. Plus these treatments help lay the cuticle down. Which high porosity needs since the cuticles are lifted when damaged. Low porosity hair cuticles aren’t lifted.
@@IAmHisBeloved5 thanks for Your reply. I do have a lot of breakage though so I believe this might help still... I think I'll try and if my hair breaks more, I'll cut them into a Bob. Can let you know if ur interested
How long after treatment before I can wash my hair?
Can a thermal pressing comb give the same results.
So does this make your hair curly or straight??
Hi beautiful girl, I really admired your transformation. I believe I found all the products on Amazon. Just in case.
Can this treatment be done on relaxed hair?
Yup! I’ve done it a few times
Your hair looks great😍😍! Does this treatment contain formaldehyde? How is this different than a keratin treatment?
Nope it doesn’t, that’s the difference. ❤
As stated in the video, this product uses amino acids and not formaldehyde. It will last for up to 12 weeks depending on your maintenance
Thank you for sharing!
This seems like it might end up being Rio 2.0. Had women around here bald headed after saying the treatment was natural. I just don't trust these types of treatments, but who knows.
This system has been out for years
I use something similar at home
What do you use?
@@soniarena5250 not a darn thing! She's one of those people that like saying this in TH-cam just to say nothing at all 🤡
I just realized, the caption reads here.. but the entire video, I read hear 🤦
Why would I enjoy when you kept interrupting? Also show the entire process please
Jade what have you done? I know ppl outgrow hairstyles but you spent many yrs & videos preaching healthy natural hair. You had a head full of beautiful black ringlets. Now you have short, bleached stringy hair 😳. I loved your natural hair vids.
@Aehs Sykes idk. I used to watch her regularly and she started back pedaling on a lot of things she preached as far as natural and healthy hair practices once she started getting bigger brand deals. I’m sure her having babies to take care of now fuels her hair decisions currently. However, her talk around natural/ healthy practices changed long ago.
She felt as though she was treating her hair as an idol once she started her walk with Christ. It was a huge part of her identity and it consumed her in ways that she did not like. Now, she doesn’t let it consume her and allows herself to just be free with it and have fun.
