I remember staying up to watch this, I was so excited! You didn't see Moz at all on US television at the time, so it was a major event for American Moz fans!
Amazing fans yelling in the studio and this is not the usual American on command.. love to immagine this hysteria is for him being so unique in singing and writing real life in a poetical way
Morrissey and Whyte were the best writing partnership since Marr - and Boz chucked a few masterpieces in as well, such as 'the more you ignore me..' best line up - Bridgewood as well. Mozambique
If you were a Morrissey fan in the early 90's, you know just what a big deal this was. I was at the Hollywood Bowl show in 1992, and when he played there again 15 years later it was great to be back. Moz even acknowledged the 15 year span since the last show at that venue.
I was at that concert too! Looking forward to seeing him again 25 years later! Luckily I can buy better seats now that I'm not a struggling college student.
I knew who he was back then but didn't listen to his music, I was into metal music back then. I remember my friend showing off his Morrissey vinyl collection and I was unintersted. I also remember he was coming down to San Diego. My attitude back then was "Who is this guy?" Then a few years later the local alternative station was playing This Charming Man and I got hooked after that.
Strangely enough I went to the Sheffield concert of this tour - crazy fantastic - I'd just emigrated from England to Ottawa and flew back on hols and drove up.
Thank you so much for posting this (edited nicely, too). I completely forgot this happened. It was an amazing time to be a Moz fan in the early '90's. I am so grateful I witnessed that, but never knew why he just didn't explode here in the States like he should have. Praise TH-cam - my memories return!
You're most welcome! Thanks for the props on editing [was early on, with my attempts at doing so.... the color was more challenging, actually]. Most pleased to hear that you enjoyed going back down memory lane as a result of the clip. Much appreciate you taking the time to drop a line of appreciation. Ta!
I heard that the song was about Lee Thompson (the saxophonist in the group 'Madness') who was chubby. However, the reference to Battersea might suggest a dog, as in 'Battersea Dogs Home'.
A year earlier, Morrissey performed on the Tonight Show when Johnny Carson was still host; last year, he returned, now in the hands of Jimmy Fallon (Moz never did the short-lived Conan O'Brien run).
Morrissey really misses Alain Whyte for his songwriting and fantastic backing vocals, painful to admit but morrissey has gone down hill since Alain Whyte's departure. What a shame!! - Mozambique was just miss spell!
Jay seemed more appreciative of Morrissey's fans, even though all of the other guests and he were irrelevant in their eyes. Compare this with Johnny's and Cosby's perplexity and, dare I say, jealousy of the intensity Morrissey fans had for their idol.
I used to think Moz started to fill out slightly in 92, but he seems very thin here, so I’ll say it was more 94-5 with the booze. Even Boz is thin here

Moz absolutely dominating here. Crowd are there for one reason only... Mozzer
Moz and Alain.Unbeatable.
I miss this lineup. Their music was amazing.
Morrissey is the only living man (other than myself) who I would trust to choose my daily attire for me.
Not anymore.

Gary Day you fool
Moz oozes sensuality when he sings. So poetic and musical.
Morrissey is really beautiful.

This was him at the pinnacle of his career and from his best album 'Your Arsenal' in my humble opinion.
Pinnacle? seriously? he was just getting started! i'd take everything he's done in the past decade over his 90's stuff anyday
greatunz67 I agree& love his current band best especially Jesse 😊
He made great stuff all over his career, but I agree Your Arsenal is one of his best.

MORRISSEY IS THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL POET...SINCE MORRISON!!!!!
@@sweetnuthin i think he made a mistake. I think he meant(all yelly), "Morrissey is the greatest rock and roll poet... since Morrissey!!!" hahahah :D
Morrisson is even far from Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Dylan
Morrissey and co at their peak! Thank God I saw him live when he still churning out classic tunes.
Strangely enough I went to the Sheffield concert of this tour - crazy fantastic - I'd just emigrated from England to Ottawa and flew back on hols and drove up.
i'm jelly!!!!! i look up his venues... never in my area 😢
This is unbelievably good.
Best line up... Alain Whyte, Boz Boorer, Gary Day and Spencer Cobrin. ❤❤❤
HANDSOME
Bless him, he was so awkward at the end!!
Such a handsome devil!
Amazing look, amazing line up amazing songs...nuff said.
He looked so happy in this performance...
He so shy,always has been.
The best line up morrissey ever had, shame it changed really is.
Very true
its a shame, but only for you.
He moved on past this kind of music. That's not to say he got better or worse, but the rockabilly stuff had its time.
He's so gorgeous here and I'm as straight as they come.
Such great days.
That was his best post Smiths band ever. Sadly disbanded.

Adorable
Moz é muito amado!!
Incredible
My sweet Moz!! - Toni Fisher
Big fucking star!
6:55 omg who did he wave at? so sweet.
Your mother.
Morrissey should ebay all his shirts from over the years. He should also ebay his pants but that is out of my price range.
I like to think this song is about adopting a portly dog
you have completely altered my feeling towards this song...

He and Alain were so cute!
Yes! And Alain is still cute!
The only thing better than his early 90s stuff is his 2004 comback
my favourite album
Forgot Boz's little dance maybe he will do one tomorrow for me 😂
懐かしすぎる
The way he shuffles away at the end omg so sweet
There’s a video on TH-cam of someone seeing Morrissey leaving a bar in LA and shouting “Hey it’s Jay Leno!”
priceless
Elvis
"And next week Neil Patrick Harris, George Strait and the Ramones!" now that was the rockin' 90's
does it get better than this?

Everyone always talks about Alain. What about Gary??
Moz-Mania.
“The young ones”

The gangs all here
❤
😍❤️✨
Gary Day!
Best bassist for Morrissey!
Times!!!
I love him but this has to be said - Vince Taylor anyone?
Has moz a little mascara on here?😂
I used to think Moz started to fill out slightly in 92, but he seems very thin here, so I’ll say it was more 94-5 with the booze. Even Boz is thin here
He looks like he did with the Smiths.
