Far from his most talented. Kill Uncle was a dead duck of an album, without a doubt his worst solo effort, even he disowns it. Dig a little deeper. He's most definitely at his most handsome. The band had just been assembled at this point of his solo career. Much better was to come.
This will always be a special moment in Morrissey's solo career. I love the span between viva hate and kill uncle. Those are still my favorite Morrissey albums
Not so much anymore! He used to stand for injustice and for those being steamed rolled by hate and bigotry but in his old grumpy age he’s gone far right and it’s sad. But we can still appreciate his music.
Morrissey is slowly winning me over from the Smiths bandwagon. It took a little while for his solo stuff to grow on me, where the Smiths were an instant connection, but I'm really starting to appreciate the solo years too.
+gumbo Ha ha, me too. Maybe just because there is more of it to dig into. But I like it all, it's damn good. Johnny Marr is a guitar god, but Morrissey's lyrics and voice are the reason I truly love the Smiths.
Cmonkey1980 All his solo music is as good as anything he made during the few years with The smith's despite the common misconseption especially in the British press 😀
Brilliant! I'm mostly a metalhead, but a closet Morrissey/Smiths fan. Morrissey live at the Alabama Theater in Birmingham in 2006 is one of the greatest shows I've ever seen.
I saw this show with my friends!!! I remember it so well....all the screaming, we barely had any voice left by the end of the show. Cosby made a comic act of all the screaming that night. He would simply say "Morrissey" and the screams would fill the studio. "Morrissey." Screams. "Morrissey" Screams. I think Cosby was a little annoyed by it all but yeah, he turned it into a funny act. We stayed overnight outside the studio just to see this show. Damn worth it.
I still remember watching this on TV. Cosby came out for his set and said, "I was backstage talking to Morrissey..." *AUDIENCE SCREAMS* "...and Morrissey told me..." *AUDIENCE SCREAMS* "...that you have to LISTEN to ME."

Morrissey's band never got sufficient credit. This rockabilly live version blends old rock 'n roll and the progressive sound beautifully. Few in the younger generation can play like Boz and Alain. Vintage Johnny, too. Morrissey es el cantante para todos los cuates. Puedo ver por qué los paisanos les gusta.
The rockabilly era expanded his audience. Notice all his Mexican fans, etc all cop to his rockabilly look as if Morrissey is permanently locked into 1991-92. I wish he would return to that classic lineup: Alain/Boz/Gary/Spencer. However, that is probably as unlikely as a Smiths reunion. Those days are over.
Back in the day I knew a bunch of Mexican dudes who were like, I'm straight but I totally would with Morrissey 😂 It was an interesting phenomenon to be sure
see when his rockabilly band play rockabilly songs they actually sound deadly exciting instead of slightly lumpy. it's a bit of a revelation seeing them tear it up like that.
I hate it when you meet a new friend things are going swimmingly, then it happens " What kind of misic do you listen to ? I just shook my head and said " you would not understand. i don't share Moz with just anyone. 👁️
@JacobLee-Hart His name is Boz; he's been with Morrissey since he started his solo career. This was a rockabilly version of Sing Your Life, so his dancing mimicked the moves of that era. Moz just went along with the music; Boz stuck with the era.
What a wonderfully bizarre, random collision of legendary career trajectories. Carson was basically finished at this point but still an icon, and Morrissey was probably at the height of his solo career, in a sadly brief Rockabilly phase. Oh, and Bill Cosby was still universally beloved.
This era was undoubtedly Peak Moz. At his most talented, handsome, and stylish.
Amen brotha this era was at the peak for Morrissey. He was everywhere and everything a true revolutionary. Meat is murder!
Far from his most talented. Kill Uncle was a dead duck of an album, without a doubt his worst solo effort, even he disowns it. Dig a little deeper. He's most definitely at his most handsome. The band had just been assembled at this point of his solo career. Much better was to come.
@@AnthonyMonaghan "without doubt"? to whom? kill uncle and ringleader are my favs. his worst solo effort is probably his last one.
Totally! I woulda married him if he’d have me. Yew! Love me some Mozster! \m/
Speaking of handy: Who’s the fella in the ochre shirt?? 😘
This will always be a special moment in Morrissey's solo career. I love the span between viva hate and kill uncle. Those are still my favorite Morrissey albums
Those were his only 2 really good albums… maybe a 3rd one but the rest weren’t really good imo
@@nicknick1974 vauxhaull and i??
@@asiangoofs4697 it wasn’t very good, it was ok at best, it had a few good songs imo… he should have stfu and stayed a smiths
I miss this backing band so much.

Yeah, they were great but I like Jesse Tobias, he is doing a good job
@@simonedgbaston I recently discovered the Elvis Morrissey's cover of "His Latest Flame"

@Steven Morrissey 😂
He's such an angel. I cannot even comprehend how everyone doesn't ADORE Moz. I love you.
I so agree with you there
❤🎉❤
Not so much anymore! He used to stand for injustice and for those being steamed rolled by hate and bigotry but in his old grumpy age he’s gone far right and it’s sad. But we can still appreciate his music.
Love that Carson really had no clue as to who Morrissey was at this point, BUT he was utterly amazed at the reception....
Probably the closest thing in his experience to relate it to would be Frank Sinatra or The Beatles.
Everything was perfect. Vocals, that double bass, the hair, Boz rocking around, everyone on stage was on point
boz goin crazy with the rockabilly licks lol
+Dale Ducktail Boz Is The Fucking Bomb! Love his Guitar skills
Its slapback delay, and its completely out of time for the most part
a prole he looked silly and not in a good way
Rockabilly Morrissey = best Morrissey
Yes absolutely, but I love it all.
🖤
THE BEST LINE UP EVER!
Boz just loving it. Wonderful era of rockerbilly Moz.
he looks SO GOOOOOOOD. i know they put the eyeshadow on him to make his eye more visible on TV but man he looks good
Ashley P really? Get with it
Can't believe it's almost been 30 years
I'm straight but Moz in his prime was the man - great voice, great look, great music and great quiff of course!
What a babe. I can't even with that dancing, my god :*
He's majestic.
Fucking love this version
Morrissey is slowly winning me over from the Smiths bandwagon. It took a little while for his solo stuff to grow on me, where the Smiths were an instant connection, but I'm really starting to appreciate the solo years too.
+Cmonkey1980 The Smiths were "better" but I find myself listening to his solo stuff more for whatever reason. Strange.
+gumbo Ha ha, me too. Maybe just because there is more of it to dig into. But I like it all, it's damn good. Johnny Marr is a guitar god, but Morrissey's lyrics and voice are the reason I truly love the Smiths.

The more you ignore him, the closer he gets.
yes
Has to be one of the best versions of this song on here! Was lucky enough to see this lineup the summer of 91 when I was 16
Great stuff! One of my favourite Morrissey set-ups! Lucky you! From Davey in Éire... (Ireland).. :)
I saw him with this band in '93, in Dallas. Great show...but he only played for about 35 minutes, and there was no encore. Still, I love the Moz
Matthew Smith great tour 🙏🏾👌🏾
Matthew Smith I was 18
Costa Mesa and UCLA
I think is so unbelievable than an artist after 30 years , fans still have some type of reaction.
That Voice! and that Band! Gets through to me every time. The best of Moz.
he looks sooo happy here! damn people sure do love him hahahahha!
I remember recording this on my vcr. Lol! I still have the cd with this version. Morrissey at KROQ.
Me too and have that same cd. What a great cd cover of all them on the stairs. The people crying in the interviews after song 3. Legendary
First CD I ever bought. I didn't even have a CD player.
God, he is perfect. I'm so glad I got the chance to see him live and hopefully I will get to see him once again! My hero!
"this will go down in musical history"
Boz, Alain, Gretsch such a great trio....
MrAndcruz yes it will. Yes it did.
There’s nothing better in life than this right here right now on a Friday morning. ✨✨✨👌🏼

I watched this live. Geez. Wow. 1991......I always loved this era..Your Arsenal. Live at KROQ is also a great recording.....
Best post Smiths backing band for Morrissey!! Best version of Sing Your Life I've ever heard!!!!
33 years later this song has never been heard again. Thanks Morrissey for turning your back on your legacy
I love this so much, i can't stop watching.
5:36, that lead guitar lick! DEADLY! He's still in the groove from the previous song obviously, keeping in the rockabilly style! EXCELLENT! :)
3:06 Love the guitarist's dancing.
Probably one of the most gorgeous men to ever walk the face of the earth...and still is

There is a place
Reserved
For me and my friends
And when we go
We all will go
So you see
I'm never alone
There is a place
With a bit more time
And a few more
Gentler words
And looking back
We will forgive
(We had no choice
We always did)
All that we hope
Is when we go
Our skin
And our blood
And our bones
Don't get in your way
Making you ill
The way they did
When we lived
Oh, there is a place
A place in hell
Reserved
For me and my friends
And if ever I
Just wanted to cry
Then I will
Because I can

0:51 The drums sound bombastic at that point. Should've kept it like that throughout. Brilliant
Every Morrissey band Boz has put together has been superb ❤
SO good!
Boz @ 3.11....Can ya imagine that fancy footwork now? lol, Love it!
Amazing
Going to see him in October! So excited!
My first Moz show July 13, 1991. My last show November 9, 2024. But not the very last! :)
Never heard the second track before but it's an instant new favorite 😭😭😭
The whole band was fun to watch, and handsome! Had a crush on Gary Day ❤
morrissey is extremely handsome. wow and this song is done amazingly here! americans loved and still love him :D
each version has its own touch, but this version of sing your life is the one that I like the most :D!
This looked like it was filmed in Elvis-o-Vision. Goodness he is beautiful here.
Boz's' antics just crack me up.
What a GREAT version of that song--fantastic energy...
Thank you for uploading this. I’m crying watching this❤ I have always always always wanted to see him perform this version.
He's so perfect!
the rockabilly Boz Boorer version
So the yanks have got taste after all, there isn't a weak thing about this performance even Moz's hair is a work of art!
Yes yanks invented all of that ...
well the "yanks" invented rockabilly and produced Elvis and Gene Vincent, so it makes sense we would appreciate this homage.
Saw him at sports arena Los Angeles 2014. Saw him 2013 Staples Center Los Angeles. Had floor seats. Amazing
fucking brilliant there will never be another morrissey.
Why the hell wasn't Kill Uncle arranged in pure rockabilly form like most TV performances of songs from the record I have seen??
I miss the energy on stage he used to have.
see when his rockabilly band play rockabilly songs they actually sound deadly exciting instead of slightly lumpy. it's a bit of a revelation seeing them tear it up like that.
amazing song ... ure fantastic sir ... always will be ... thanks.
sublime!
Holy crap, Carson and Morrissey! Two gods of entertainment in one spot
He ALWAYS loved performing in America more than Europe. And you can tell here.
How in the FUCK have I never seen this before? AMAZING!
Perfect Line Up! Great versions!
I still think that it's awesome that he got most of the crew from The Polecats and The Sharks to be in his lineup. Moz is God.
Boz in the back rocking out man💖
I Love!
What a performance!
They just look gorgeous
