  • Being a massive fan of the Last of us games and HBO series, also a skilled crafter I decided to make an unique memento to remind me of the amazing story of The last of us.

    For the life of me I still don’t know why none of these companies or even the ones that sell the cheaper ones have made anything like this it would sell like hotcakes

    Nice vid, looks amazing, the blade could be polished to look nicer but other than that, this is the 1st time I see an amazing working replica

    Nice work especially considering you had to look over your shoulder constantly for WLF deserters when at your workbench

    Hey! I have a question I hope you see where did you get the pins for assembling the knife I want to make one myself but can’t really fine proper pins

    • @arenve.
      @arenve.  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. I found the pins in a hobby material store, try looking for knife making materials online. Otherwise you could use a rod or a harder nail that you find in a hardware store.

    Hey, I was wondering, how can I make my own insert inlays? The white ones on the handle, also how do I disassemble an already built stiletto knife? I just wanna add the white pieces cause I already got the blade and everything

    • @arenve.
      @arenve.  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, You should be able to easily disassemble the knife after grinding down the top the pins, be careful not to damage the metal parts.
      you can buy a peice of imitation ivory in most hobby shops and after shaping them, you can easily transfer the pinholes as I did.

    • @arenve.
      @arenve.  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could be tricky to make the front piece due to the safety and button mechanism. that is why I bought the knife already with ivory handles so I don't have to deal with that.
      Good luck 🙂👍

    • @arenve.
      @arenve.  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't that with the back side piece, that is why it doesn't have pinholes in the video. The piece that I bought was too thin so I had to reinforce it with epoxy to get the same thickness as the wood.

    • @user-uy7bn4kt2b
      @user-uy7bn4kt2b ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the answers, what kind of tools do I need to grind the pins holding the handles together? Also can I replace them if I ruin them? Can I use a pre-existing handle and just add the imitation ivory inlays?

    • @arenve.
      @arenve.  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@user-uy7bn4kt2bI used hand files for the pins. Yes you will need new pins because the original ones are going to be shorter after grinding. The existing handles are good, but since they are pretty small and fragile it is going to be difficult to cut the inlays out.

      Out of curiosity what would the price range be on that
      and if it would be more acceptable to ask somewhere else so you aren’t tied to a price I’d understand

    How did you make that white pieces in the middle of the knive and is that rose wood you using

    • @arenve.
      @arenve.  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The white inlays are the actual handles that came with the knife, I just sanded them to the shape. The wood is teak with mahagony wood paint, that is why appears red-ish.

      I would gladly make one, the only issue with this tipe of knives (spring loaded) is that they need special licenses for inport/export in my country as in most others, which takes extra costs and time. If you still interested leave me your contact and I'll give you the details.
