I was saying this with the Transformers Legacy line... They had Mini bots being sold at Deluxe price point, and it used to be based on figure class size. They offset the size difference with extra accessories ( for example, Cliffjumper came with large weapon and skies. same size as Bumblebee.) The new Bumblebee is a mini bot and has a standard pistole and is priced at $24.99USD...
I would have happily paid $50, even $55 for the Lockjaw set. Lockjaw is a character I’ve wanted forever. But $70? It always amazes me how people bitch about Bobby Vala, but somehow ignore that Chris Koch’s is objectively EVIL. (His prior work history was getting children hooked on lootbox gambling. “Just give us Mommy’s credit card kids!”)
You know I’ve looked into his past and probably should.
@robertsinfiniterealms1308 He was a mid tier X-box marketing guy big into loot boxes, microtransactions, games as a service and the psychology of addiction. That twit that was recently fired from running wizards of the coast was from the same team. The one who tried to make tabletop D&D a $40/monthly game as a service subscription? Yeah her.
@andrewtaylor940 They’re still going that route with D&D according to rumors. But his history also explains that push.
All of their stuff is overpriced. And has-bros have been conditioned to accept it. Most of them think dragon man is priced well. I’m almost done with marvel legends anyway. These prices are the nail in the coffin.
@@transformerstoytalk8393 I thought Dragon man would be $125 the way Hasbro has been pricing things so I was surprised. At the same time I wonder “Do I want a Dragon man? Not exactly a fav character.” I’ll probably pass but not decided.
I do most of my Marvel and Star Wars Black Series shopping at Ollie's, these days.

I got out of legends and transformers a few years back because it got to the point where I could no longer justify the price for the quality you get. GI JOE is about to push me out

lucky I only collect weird obscure characters the only hits I took this year was Death's head and crystar. Sleep walker was on clearance and that's pretty much my only dip in marvel legends. But that's not fair to you guys who are keeping these brands going . My 3 figures a year don't matter that much .

You're a lil close to your mic there bud. But you're not wrong with what you had to say. I bought one legend this year. Last year I limited myself to just the retro spiders. The year before that, anything and everything I thought was cool.
The Hasbro Marvel Legends team can't properly read the market. I honestly think they don't care. Its like they are saying buy it or don't buy it, and when they end up with a bunch of inventory they will cry that fans didn't buy what they claim they were happy to see. Like no asshats we were happy to see it but we weren't about to pay stupid prices for it. I said no to the zesty Sentinels, and I rather pay for the Mezco Black Bolt and Lockjaw. Mattel has crazy good looking new Masters of the Universe figures and they are 21 bucks with accessories and cloth capes.
The masterverse line is really solid. I enjoy it mostly
@@robertsinfiniterealms1308 I recently came around to collecting the Masterverse line. When I see them at Ross for $3.99 I grab them because I know they are a steal at that price. Target has some on clearance right now at 30%. I will wait until they hit 70% and thats when I will swoop in.

So far there is only one Marvel figure I am paying full price for and hope its better than the other ones I have bought. The one positive that I see in the ones I have is well I paid $5 to $10 for it. With just the few that I have bought I don't how someone collects these figures.
They hit a few must haves for me this year, Ghost Rider, Cage and Iron Fist, Astonishing Wolverine, BUUUT the list got very short after that, so short I tried to do a top ten most wanted and could not come up with 5.
@@robertsinfiniterealms1308 I was tempted on the Ghost Rider but I would want figures from the Mid Night Sons run and I know Hasbro didn't do them all and what they did wouldn't be right so I just passed on it.
@@SteelDog91 The Danny Kietch GR run from 1-around 20 or so is one of my fav runs too. I kinda dipped out when midnight sons started though.

Nah. People will still by the figure. And reviewers, if they even deign to criticize Hasbro will be like, sure its overpriced and not as articulated, but at least we got a figure of *insert character*
Soon basic figs are gonna be like 29.99 and still have sub par paint, articulation that is not done as well as it could be if they wanted to and MAYBE extra hands.
And people will complain and still buy em up.
@@SkunkLifeMedia I don’t know. People are being pretty vocal on the Lockjaw crystal pack. A lot of people tapped out at $25 or at least cut back a lot.
That’s ignoring the license rumors too.

@@SkunkLifeMedia I think Disney will cut up the license so hard to say where anything is going. That’s if Hasbro doesn’t keep it which is highly likely given the gluts at Ollie’s.
Hasbro been over pricing,its because of a lot of these Shields/ass kissers UTubers been over Hyping figures telling a lot of the collectors they really need these certain figures,an alot of these hasboys are eating up.everything that Hasbro are releasing reissues still with. Pens just a higher price now I only pick and choose I don't buy the whole waves like I use too their too high in price but them ass kissers aren't telling the collectors all them marvel legends figures their over Hyping their getting them for free plus other Hasbro an other toy lines stuff for free for them helping Hasbro an other Toy companies push the idea we/you needs their products
