Here in Trinidad we call it Big Leaf Thyme, Broad Leaf Thyme, or Spanish Thyme. This thing grows like a weed. I have cut it back numerous times and still it wants to take over the world 🤣 Even just tossing the scraps on a heap the pieces will grow. No need for water prop. Just stick it in any soil. Delicious as a seasoning. Have yet to try it for medicinal purposes. Happy gardening!

I always have to monitor the heap because yeah those pieces will just generate like mad. I have learnt something knew today. I did not know that the cuban oregano/French thyme could be consumed by humans and rabbits amongst other medicinal purposes. Wow! Just to think that I considered it an iritating very invasive weed!

@mangoyacho correct lamb...my husband loves lamb and I do not...I do cook lamb 4 him slow cooked . Half the pot is lamb and half is this #1 green. south. florida calls Cuban oregano and many other names ... the leaves are so very tender slow cooked. I eat all the greens and he eats the lamb. This is the only way I ever cooked this green. Alot alot of many seasoning in the pot 4 me. The well cooked leaves are buttery? Hard 2 describe the way the taste feels so satisfying.
