I torque my head down to a 135 foot-pounds, but to head gasket still blue again. Can't figure out why

Warped head, improper torquing etc etc could be a few issues

The studs come loose in the box? Just got mine and the seal was broken and they are all loose, but everything seems to be there.

Don’t think its a good idea to hot re-torque, the original torque spec is for cold assembly, which takes into account screw lengthening due to operating temperature, by re torquing hot, you are exceeding the original torque spec and reducing the elastic life of your fasteners. You should also apply a light oil coating on the thread to make sure you get effective torque application on the exposed side of the stud. Furthermore if you re-torqued at 10 lbs over the spec and you did it hot you may be close to stetching the studs.

Do you not have to back the stud out 1/2 turn? Why do they say to do it and not bottom out the stud?

I run them down then back them off then put them finger tight. Never had an issue

You need to back it out a hair to allow for heat expansion. If you bottomed it out, after heat expansion, the stud & nut combination could loosen up.

As a seasoned 45 year heavy duty Cat mechanic. I do not see any advantage in doing this every time a bolt is loosened the gasket is disturbed making it more likely to fail never mess with something that is not broke. If you do not have experience leave it alone. WOW.

Home gamer youtube learned mechanic - Did this to support running 200bhp higher than stock tune. Can confirm 6 months in, NO issues. This was something I was told that was required to run any extra power. So research, invest, work. And it worked.

I have 414k ok a 2015 ram 6.7 all original. Stock head studs. And been deleted at 200k. And only change the value body in the transmission and a fan clutch. Nothing else. I don't understand why you have to do new studs

Most folks do it with the high tunes "180hp tune"...but unless you not realy dogging it then alot people dont...thise that keep it to the floor end up stretching those stock bolts

Thanks for the video and info but please leave the music out except for sped up scenes. Trying to hear what you’re explaining and saying and it’s hard to when a guitar is ripping
