    36 is my prediction. Cole needs to go in dirty zones moe and in front of the net once in a while not just point shots from circle. It's why Suzuki scored so much more goals, cuz Slaf saw him more then Cole all the way the other side. Look at Suz goals 90% are Slaf passes after the allstar games.

    Great show guys, loved the strong opinions from Eric. I agree having caufield on the 2nd line can get him away from this big though matchups, and it can provide us with a second line that can pack a punch.

    One 40 goal season? Might as well try to obtain PLD (NOT). Not interested in some headcase and the numbers for a #2 overall are not too good.

    Canadiens need a true star winger, we had Kovalchuk and were so happy watching him score ot winners at the end of his career, same for Vanek getting 3 points in a game, we need a guy in Prime by next year pay them 16 million I don't care the guy is at Edmonton .... Sign him next off season do it, I'm old now , watched Richer score 50 back in the day and no one comes close... Heck he didn't even love the game get someone who loves the game and what they do. It's enough, we need a star player that can get 80 to 120 points in todays hockey. Muller, Damphouse, Belows, Turgeon were awesome but that's the highlights for us, it's sad. Kovalov was good but not amazing.

    I thought Laine looked pretty good playing with Scheiflie and Wheeler but not good at all when not playing with those two very good players.That makes Laine the type of player I talk about often and that is a follower a leech on a line he is NOT a leader on a line.
    Now if we are talking about habs management as dude here mentioned I guess he forgets MTL gave up TWO picks for a very ho hum Newhook.Laine has proven MUCH more than Newhook ever has and ever will so to say they are not throwing packages at him I wouldn't be so sure.
    The big factor is obviously the contract so imo Columbus would eat some of the contract but only if MTL sweetens the deal.That leads us to something that makes me laugh and that is Habs fans/media big time over rate our players while OTHER teams see the players we offer as useless.
    So to make this deal work would be VERY difficult.

    Caufield should have been traded along with Matheson, at the draft, to Utah, for the 6thpick..Utah needs to put a good product on the ice now, not in 5 years, and Montreal wants to be elite in 5 years, not now.

    • @sebsaavysworld8469
      @sebsaavysworld8469 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Lol ridiculous, A team that struggles to score goals trade a 60 point D-man who's only making 4.7, How many 60 point D-man in the league making 4.7 besides Matheson, Plus the guy is a good leader and good in the dressing room. You need some veterans to bring all these young D along and they are already going to trade Savard by the deadline so they are not trading Matheson who is the only other veteran D-man on the team. Caufield is the only true goal scorer on this team, The guy has scored goals at every level he has played at. 23 goals as a rookie in just 67 games, 26 goals in just 46 games which is about a 46 goal pace on a full season and last year 28 goals and thats after coming off major season ending shoulder surgery, A surgery that takes 12 to 18 months to be fully recovered. You didn't say anything about his size but you get alot that say oh hes to small to get it done in the playoffs. In 20 playoff games 13pts in 20 games and a Stanley Cup Final as a rookie is not to bad. Lots of other little guys who were good in the playoffs too, Martin St Louis, Theron Fluery who was smaller than Caufield, Jonathan Marchessault who just won the Con Smythe year before last with 13 goals and 25pts in 22 games and he is the same size as Caufield. Caufield is only 23 and people all around the league said last year due to him having the shoulder surgery less then a year before starting the season was a down year for him with 28 goals and 65pts. He has already becoming a more complete player under St Louis, He will be a consistent 35 to 40 goal scorer who hits the 40+ mark a few times in his career. How many consistent 35+ goal scores has Montreal had in the last 25 years, One maybe
