I can’t speak for other Habs fans, but I personally won’t lose patience based on standings status. It’s about moving toward something, and as we have already seen, you can take big steps forward as a team without much to show for it in a very hard division.
Habs are about two years from having the best blue line in hockey, and the top six is shaping up to be pretty damn talented. The rebuild is going about as well as it could, and passing the teams like Detroit, Ottawa and Buffalo will be sooner than later.
Been a Habs fan for 60 years. I am good with NO UFS's or trades this year. Even next year (unless they can get rid of some contracts). Wait until Demidov is on the team and the salary cap has gone up and a couple of contacts are gone, then we can sign a $10-12 million-dollar super star.
I agree. They still need that pivotal 2nd line scoring winger. I think we develop this core and make a big bid for Filip Forsberg when he’s a UFA in 2029.
Being a Montreal Fan, I know that the team is not ready yet to make the playoffs this year. Their division is much too strong for them to make the playoffs. So looking at this realistically, the Habs will not do too well again this year but as long as the players are working hard and not give up, which is what I expect to see as a fan, I think most real Habs fans will be happy where this is heading so far. I really think next year or maybe at worst the following year will be the breaking point that the team will need to be competitive to be in the playoffs.
FYI it is the pressure point where the jaw meets the ear. If you catch someone there with a slap or punch it is a KO. Place the tip of your finger in the small depression behind the ear where your jaw connects and apply pressure, ...... hurt didn't it? lol
From what I've seen of Demidov, he will need a couple of years to get used the physical play before he starts to pay dividends. He has hardly been touched so far and will have a hard time adjusting to bone crushing hits.
How about adding a 6'2" 23 yr. Old ...200 lbs. Scoring forward named Arther Kaliyev ? Is this a possible add on ? He's Russian ...knows N.A. ice ..has a great junior scoring history...yup he would need development time but...the payoff could be a BIG Payoff ..!!Kent ...is this possible??
if we didn't take reinbacher 5th arizona was absolutely taking him 6th. kovalev was on the back end of his prime when he played for us, and his effort level didn't always match his skill. we'll have demidov from the beginning. i would suggest we acquire a russian player to help ease demidov's transition to the NHL. a bottom six guy, so he's not blocking anyone important, but can be trusted. obviously a veteran. i think the guy we should target is vlad namestnikov of the jets. throw a 3rd at them, or harris/barron.

Eric is great. John's questions are good but John you are a jerk, to leave your co-host so uninvolved. Let your co-host lead often too. PS co-host, when you do get the chance to speak you are really great. Find yourself a better co-host, honestly.
Co-host Tim here. First, thanks for watching and listening! Second, John encourages me to speak as often as I want to, which I do. I tend to speak less when we interview someone because I am focusing more on producing the show in real time -- guiding the questions we ask, keeping an eye on the clock, and getting the best interview possible. Sometimes that means I only ask a question or two myself, but that's totally okay. I appreciate the support and I hope you keep watching. We have some awesome player interviews incoming this summer!
As a montreal fan i am still patient and really wouldnt mind another top 5 blue chip prospect to add to the mix.
Great minds think alike. :)
If we could land Martone or a big center that could play wing if Dach is healthy it would be money!

Excellent Eric Engels. He has understood exactly how it's working within the management team
We gotta sign Xhekaj long term and hope that his brother will make it to a 4th line. that could be crazy

It’s important to not appear ignorant on the subject. Scott needs to do his homework before the podcast.
