In this video, I show you how I upgraded my GoPro Hero 5 with inexpensive 3d prints. I broke the latch on my original GoPro case (which is fairly common), so I decided to print a quick fix. The process ended up being a journey but it was super worth it in the end.
First, you'll need to find a 3D model of whatever you want to print. There are many available online, or you can create your own. If you have little to no experience 3d printing (like me), there are lots of websites where you can just download the files you need. I used (thingiverse.com) in this case.
Next, you'll need to load the file into a 3d printing software. Since I was sending my prints to the library I used the system they are setup on which is 3dprinterOS.
Once you’ve sliced the file, you can start printing. The printing process took under 2 hours for most of these since they are so small and simple.
Once the case finished printing, I needed to stop by the library to pick it up which took me two tries because I was a little overzealous.
If you have any other questions about the process or tips/tricks for me or anyone else getting into 3d printing just let me know!
