No edits, no problem | The Delightful Fujifilm X-Pro3 in Downtown Durham
Join me for a relaxed summer stroll through Downtown Durham with the incredibly capable Fujifilm X-Pro3. I'm trying to clear out some of the footage on my laptop and I came across this POV I captured back in May 2024. My Fujifilm recipe called "dreamy" has changed quite a bit since then but the no edit workflow is the same. I paired the Fuji 23mm with the Cinebloom 10%. I ended up exchanging this 23mm. Let me know if you notice any inconsistencies with how it renders the out of focus bits. As with my more recent POV videos the footage was captured on the insta 360 go3 which I definitely need to give some more love in the next few months.

If the filter ring size in front of the lens is 49mm, is the focal length of this lens capable of using a square lens hood? I'm just worried that the lens hood will cover the photo results
what lens filter do u use?
it's a 10% cinebloom filter!
Great point, that is why I downsized to zfc for my trip to Japan and I couldn't be happier. I would never got that shots I got there carrying my big dslr.

😂 thank you! and honestly the Lumix gx85 is a way better value but I do understand the off in the distance dream camera idea (I've been having medium format thoughts lately). do you feel like you're missing out on anything with the gx85?
@@3goodeyes I love the gx85. It’s not a big deal, but I wish the ael button was raised or had some grip for back button focus. It’s hard to distinguish that button and the flash one in the moment. I’m using the 12-32mm now and the need to twist the lens every time is getting old. Can’t decide between the 15mm and 20mm. I just know I want it in silver lol. I saw you have the cinebloom filter! Definitely getting one too. I use the 10% for my wedding cameras.

Hi Ya. I took some of my favourite pictures this year on my GX85 with the 20mm f1.7. As can be seen in your video it is a versatile camera producing results people don't believe were shot on this little M43. Upon reflection, what surprised you about being in Japan? HNY 2025.
It really is so capable. To the point where sometimes I wonder if I should sell some of my other gear and use it more. HNY! I think I was most surprised by how easy it was to find good food. We didn’t really stand in lines or do a bunch of research before each meal we just kinda bopped around and found really tasty restaurants.
The LUMIX GX85 is an incredible Camera. Ive used everything from Pentax to Fuji to Leica since the film days. I was a snob about m43 thinking optics would look like a 2008 Nokia cell phone. I wanted a new camera to use and found a gx85 kit. I don’t buy it because the sensor. Couldn’t find anything else I liked so bought it and figured I’d return it if I didn’t like it. I was so wrong. I use it so much that my Leica TL2 usually stays home in its bag and never gets used. Something real and filmic looking about the lumix that modern camera just don’t have. They suffer from over polishing and over sharpening. The lumix gx85 is just right! Anyone else on the fence just try it, you’ll like it!
it's definitely a special camera!
Looks like a dope trip! I've been to Japan about 6 times and I will always go back. Such an amazing vibe! Currently looking at the GX85, thanks for the video!
6 times!? that's amazing. do you have a favorite area?
I wish Lumix to release a GX9ii with weather sealing under or equal to usd 1,000.
@@21Zymon yes! with the real time lut feature and it’s a winner 🏆
Hey how would you rate the autofocus against other cameras you have used ?
@@NGKSTUDIO very good! I think for video it can be pretty much as snappy as Sony but if you mess with the settings then you can get some natural looking focus pulls with autofocus and I think I currently prefer it over my former Sony A7IV for video. For stills it’s just good. Sony was effortless. I don’t think I’ve nailed the stills AF settings yet or how close I can get to Sony
@3goodeyes that's good to hear because I have the a7iv right now, but I wanted to get more into video.

@@lavendercourage oh that makes me so happy! Thanks for the comment and happy Saturday
It's funny that I stumbled across this video just now. Last week I bought a second-hand GX85 (GX80 in Germany) with a 20mm f1.7 lens as a camera that I can carry with me every day and take with me on trips. I've also been shooting with a LUMIX G9M2 for a year now and especially when I'm hiking I realize that the camera has a lot weight for an M43 sensor. That's why I wanted an even smaller camera on which I could also use all my lenses if necessary and what can I say? The GX85 is the perfect model for excursions or simply for everyday use in a backpack. For important shoots like cars, events or sports, the G9M2 still comes out often enough, but the GX85 is simply the better choice for taking beautiful shots of everyday life. I would also like to take a trip to Japan in the future, so double thumbs up for this video!
@@sleepzzz5619 oh that’s awesome! What other lenses do you have for the system? And thank you! I just posted another Japan video with all of my photos from the trip if you want to see more of how it did capturing that environment
That is clean as

how do u edit the photo like this its amazing
@@blaka1_102 thank you! I’m hoping to make a video about editing but the short answer is I’ve bought some Lightroom presets over the years from photographers and tweaked them or merged aspects of them to make edits that feel good to my eye.
One of the biggest advantages of the GX85 is its ability to take 3840×2160 photos directly from the camera. It can be displayed on a 4K TV in a point-to-point manner. The curve will not be deformed due to thumbnails, causing the image on the screen to be blurred.
Finally someone showing footage rather than just talking and focusing on them.
I couldn't really find much sample footage with this camera either! at least not any that wasn't sponsored or in partnership with Nikon. it was kinda wild
Don't use the AWB to shoot or post your photo of GX85. Otherwise, the photo would be terible color cast as in your video. In stead, you can use a Direcivity White Balance Filter DCC40 to perform the manual white balance lock with your GX85 on-site before shooting. Then, you will be able to take the most beautiful true color photo that no one can take photo to surpass in image quality, not matter what camera or lense they use.
Absolutely love my GX85 (GX80 here in the UK). The only thing for me, the EVF isn’t great for my prescription. The Field sequential finder seems to tear and distort. Other people cope fine so it must just be an eye thing. Everything elese……it’s the perfect travel camera with my 20mm 1.7. Great video; thankyou!
@@deanrobertnoble138 oh dang! Yeah that’s definitely a bummer since it’s a lovely thing to have when you need it. Do you find the back screen to be bright enough for sunny days?

GX85 is an incredibly underrated performer. Same for that 12-32mm. But perhaps the best thing about is it discretion. With the 12-32mm it will go into a medium size jacket pocket and nobody even knows I have it. And because to a lot of people it looks like Grandmas compact camera from 2005, nobody cares about what you're doing. Cannot say the same for my full frame gear. Massive shame that Panasonic don't seem to see a future for cameras like this.
@@WhiskyLock grandmas compact camera from 2005 is an incredible description for this thing. But yeah it’s kinda wild they aren’t cranking them out. I guess that makes it even more special

lol I can't blame you. I usually pick up my 20mm but whenever I decide to show this little zoom some love I'm not disappointed.
I'm between GX85 and GX9 (both second hand). GX9 is obviously a bit more expensive. Which one would you go for?
😅😂 well I’m biased because I’ve never used a gx9 but as you can tell I really love the gx85. I was considering both at one point and I don’t remember what made me choose the earlier version. Maybe just the combo of price + small savings in size/weight. I don’t think you’ll regret getting the gx85 if you’re between these two.
