The tangleroot chance is rolled on the final harvest so to save the most time you just pay for seaweed and don't use compost on it. Harvest amount doesn't affect pet chance.

Got my tangleroot late. I was in the top 10k on the hiscores when I got it. I'd been doing trees/ seaweed , farming herbs to keep it cost neutral. I only got the drop harvesting toadflax 🤦♂️

You know what's funny? I got Tangleroot at 23m farming xp. I was doing daily hespori, cacti, belladona, seaweed. Everything I could to increase my chance. I got the pet off a willow tree I planted and forgot about for months in varrock. Just pure rng.

I did the rocky method in draynor after 99. I got the pet right under the rate for stalls. It took longer than the other methods but was pretty chill. I just trapped both guards in the house and thieved the stalls with no extra accounts. Gl it will come.
I got to level 50 agility. Unlocked the Falador rooftop course. Did one lap on it and immediately got a squirrel right after 😂
An alternative way to get the giant squirrel is through Hallowed Sepulchre. The pet chance isn't affected by level, and there's a 1/2k chance of getting the pet on completing floor 5. This gives you ~25% chance of getting the pet from level 92 - 99, since it takes about 500 floor 5 completions to get those levels. This is waaaay faster xp (80+k xp/hr) and extremely profitable (~200m depending on how may coffins you choose to loot and your luck with ring drops which are 1/200 and ~40M each). I'm pet hunting there post 99, and I find it far more fun and rewarding than the braindead penguin course.

This video felt like such a slap in the face after I finished up 99 agility today without yet again a skilling pet XD
That pet chance assumes you do the penguin course, and nothing else, all the way to 99.
The reason it looks so good is because it has way better pet chance than its xp drops; you'd get the pet quicker if you did Sepulchre to 99, and did penguin course post-99.
@@TheL0rd0fSpace yeah I know :D there's just always this wish that you'll just get it on the way to 99 rather than having to go out of your way for it afterwards. But I'll unfortunately have to do some more penguin agility now given it's my favorite skilling pet XD

On my Ironman I got the squirrel and beaver between lvl 40-55 in there respective skills. I can’t help but think I’ll never get lucky again on that account
I didn't know you could change rock golem colour by using an ore on it !! For some reason I thought you obtained whichever colour of the ore of the rock you were mining when you rolled the pet, and then you were stuck with that colour ! The more you know :P

I lucked the heck out on Rock Golem. Pulled that sucker in MLM at 68 mining. It was awesome.
That fact about 100% tangleroot had me laughing my as off.
Got Tangleroot at 24m farming xp. I did all farming methods till drop the pet. Belladonna, cactus, all fruit tree, all normal tree, Hespori, mushroom, calquat, bush patches, flower patches, hops patches, allotment patches... Just choosing the best drop rate from the wiki for each patch. Was 2 whole years of grind. Got Tangleroot with the cactus inside the Farming Guide. I was so happy. Totally worth it.
i rolled the rock golem twice before 95 with power mining iron ore i dont wanna know what the chance is for that
so for runecrafting.. the less runes in your inventory the better the rate for pet? so say you craft mind runes, you babk the runes crafted and get more pure ess and repeat? but it’s ok to keep law and mind rubes in inventory?

I got Tangleroot at lvl 78 farming on my "slayer alt" (it's basically just a second main lol)
No matter the chance pets are always so random
Like getting the beaver from a normal tree at lvl 30 woodcutting while doing a Monk's Friend quest

i received rocky at 40 thieving. i wasn't even trying to get it but surprisingly i did.
I got the Rock Golem at 74 mining while just randomly mining gems. I was on my way out, and got it on my last gem rock. Was stoked as hell.

Heron is the only pet I have. Got it doing Tuna/Swordfish in Catherby.
I got beaver at lvl 53 cutting maples in seers' village
i got first tangle from mahogany 85 farming and 2nd tangle from tithe between 96-98 farming.
i got my rocky off a fruit stall in the shop house in hosidius. lvl 54 thieving. I swear it used up all my good rng because hours later and i can't get ANY pets or good loot
i got woodcutting and mining pet both at level 67

Can fit more laps in the time it takes to do the final floor, and just consistency over time.

how is the skilling pet grind going ? i ended up getting tangleroot at 23m xp, after six months going for it with the best base chances i got it from toadflax go figure lol. Spooned the golem at motherlode mine.

This is a bit of an odd question but I’m wondering how do you guys maintain your bonds since I’m trying to make an Ironman and I have a bond less main that is 1200 total
Find some buddies. Join United iron. Try to get some wins in events to get free bonds
blast furnace is a good option for beginners

i did 1-97 farm in 5 weeks, got tangle off magic trees (i only do allotments, magics, n fruits)
i might be wrong but although the penguin course is the course that requires the least amount of laps for the pet, im sure its not worth actually doing, very aids and slow course
have not timed it myself yet but its so many clicks and cutscene type bits itll defo be quicker to do more of a different course
When paying good attention you can achieve about 55 laps per hour at the penguin course giving roughly 30K XP/Hour.
I'm sorry, I still don't understand how you actually acquire the pet. Does it just happen like at a chance when you're using a skill?
Got rocky with 47 and tangle with 56 on my pure
I've seen so many screenshots of Rocky at the cake stall.
I got mine at 26 on my new account but didn't think of sending in the screenshot to the series.
Since Tangleroot is next on the list this helps a lot!
i also got mine at 29 or so. and i quested to 21 thieving so it was just within my first 500 clicks. lol. lucky us.

Depends on the skill. Like mining is every time you mine something. Farming is when the last plant is picked and it disappears.
Can anyone name any skilling pet ever that was obtained while the person was doing something other than the skill they got the pet for. Seems unlikely but idk if its impossible

I got 6 rc pets on the way to 99 lol. Got them all post 77 at blood runes. There was a point where I got 3 in ~1.5m xp, it was insane.

I didn't include that since it has a dedicated drop rate rather than level based.
Even tho penguin agility has the best chance at pet I don't think anyone hates themselves that much to do it to 99.
Rocky 90, rock golem 72, rift guardian 77, heron 78. No pet: agility 87, farming 94, wc 90, hunting 80. Maybe I can get perfect record (minus Phoenix).

The agility pet isn't rolled at the end of the course. maybe for different courses but I got mine mid way through the seers village course :D
are you sure you didnt get it the lap previous and just didnt notice? pretty sure it only ever rolls at the end of the course
