Hope he does appear in Phantom Liberty. An old, weathered Blackhand teaming up with V would make for a cool character dynamic.
It would be Especially cool to see how he would react to Johnnys situation.

Loved this video. This is a character that absolutely needs more attention. Even though he was only mentioned a few times, I really think Blackhand's influence is felt in Cyberpunk 2077. Johnny Silverhand might be the character that V gets tangled up with, but I've always thought V is very much following Morgan Blackhand's footsteps. Whether V is a Solo or not, the game makes it very clear that V is on the path to becoming the next Morgan Blackhand. Even the final battle where V beats Adam Smasher is V taking that last step. Going into the tower and beating Adam Smasher just like Blackhand (likely) did 50 years earlier.
Mike Pondsmith asked them not to include him. He said that he wanted to work on Blackhand's lore (what happened to him leading up to the events of 2077) before letting CDPR play with him. So Morgan Blackhand is definitely coming. If not DLC, than most definitely a sequel. Even then, they don't want to show him too much because of how big a legend he is.
@@WatchMan283 CDPR and Mike Pondsmith have both talked about this. This comment about waiting until he's worked out the story a little more makes me think this character might be saved for a later project. But who knows. Either way, I think we should definitely see/hear more about Blackhand + how the Arasaka attack really went in-game.

@@WatchMan283 There is a Pen & Paper RPG by the name of Cyberpunk RED, placed in 2045. I don't like it (the rules are riddled with more holes and removals from the 2020's than a wall after unloading five turret's worth of heavy ammo on them), but it could be where he makes an appearance (Michiko Arasaka, daughter of the deceased -at 2025 or so- first son of Saburo, and mentioned during the Parade mission in 2077, is a prominent mover and shaker in 2045's NUSA and Night City, for example); however, considering how long took them to publish the cards for RED's Netrunning (good, light and kinda realistic, I won't say better than 2020's because anything is better than that hot mess), chances are ORION (CDPR's online "CP2077") gets out before XD

Morgan Blackhand was not Maximum Mike's. Supposedly, he was Ross "Spyke" Winn's. Spyke modeled him on cover of Solo of Fortune 2 sourcebook. Of course this is secondhand information from someone who talked with Spyke. I am still working on finding out the fact from either Spyke or Mike himself.

@@xoxochynabeats5296 Confirmed from Spyke that Morgan is Mike's creation. ck Spyke just model as him on the cover of Solo of Fortune 2. Another tidbit is that Solo of Fortune 1 cover is also Blackhand, just a different person portraying him.

There was also a reference on him in the beginning of the game there you can see a news about a men with black hand who defeated mercinaries
He definitely is alive since there was a rumor that a man with black hand attacked some corpos a witness saw and no one knows what happened after the war since they never saw his body and johnny doesn't exactly remember everything that happened in the 4th corporate war as mike pondsmith said before

If Blackhand does make an appearance, he won't necessarily be an old man. He'll be older/middle age sure, but look at Hanako, she's 80ish. Rogue was in her 70s iirc. Saburo was well over 100, I forget exactly how old. Someone like Blackhand being as well connected to a major corp like Militech would lead me to believe he'd have access to some preem stuff like Hanako does.
Like I mentioned, you can be old but look young, being 100 plus years old he can still have moves for sure, but it doesn't make him young experience wise. Plus if reports are true about him dealing with Lazarus in 2077, then he is still absolutely able
@@LastKnownMeal That doesn't really address what I was saying. He'll for sure be older looking, but not geriatric nor looking like a 20 something either. He'll most likely look like around 40-50s based on other older characters we've met.
Since he's connected with Militech, I'd assume he's got higher end body mods similar to how Kerry being a mega millionaire superstar or Hanako being the Arasaka heiress look a lot better than Rogue the big shot fixer, even though she still looks younger than her actual age by a few decades.
I didn't say anything regarding his abilities or capabilities at that age, nor his experience level.
@@cd5sircoupe No, I know what you are saying, being old and looking old is not the same thing, of course there is body sculpting, it makes you look like 40s and 50s but it doesn't change your actual age. And yes, with his connections to Militech of course he can get the best care.
But by design, I think him being "old" is Old Man Logan old, not a geriatric case haha. Like you mentioned Hanako or Kerry, Kerry looks young, but he still acts at least mentally like a guy of his age living in that world, I meant the same for Morgan.

Oh yeah, I dont see him dying just like that.
I remember getting so excited over the early development stages with the pre-2018 game being made when developers were dropping information about the character creation and how you would be able to customize your character on so many levels beyond just the body modification stuff. But then they mentioned with the Lifepath system that they currently had in place and envisioned and was working towards, this added uniqueness of stat effects/world interaction affect in which you would choose your background hero when facilitating the creation of your character. So you could for instance choose Johnny silver hand , Which obviously was with a different story at this time and much more robust, which would have its own affect and background bonuses, or you could choose Morgan Blackhand which would have its own flare of affects as well. And there were a few others in that hero choosing. I just loved that idea.

There is that theory as well yes, that he was taken by Arasaka after it was done, but I honestly doubt it. But anything is possible at this point.
Blackhand wasn't Mike's character, that was Ripperjack. Maximum Mike used Blackhand as a NPC. Supposedly, Morgan was a character played by Ross "Spyke" Winn originally, who portrayed him on Solo of Fortune 2 sourcebook for Cyberpunk 2020 TTRPG. This was secondhand from someone who talked with Spyke a while ago. Need to have either Spyke or Maximum Mike to confirm it.
Talked with Spyke, Morgan was a creation of Mike. Spyke was just the model for him on SoF2. Another tidbit, Solo of Fortune 1 cover is also Morgan Blackhand.
Hey LKM, I was wondering if you might ever make a video on something that's been bugging me for a while. The whole idea of touch and feeling of cyberware like Gorilla Arms and Mantis Blades. It sort of makes sense for the cyberarms available in the game to have nerve endings because they have fake skin, but what about other cyberware like Johnny's arm? Apparently they do have touch sensors, but I really don't understand how that would work. I'm wondering why anyone would replace their limbs with the metal cyberware if you can't feel anything. A lot of npcs replace their whole bodies with cyberware, so can they feel anything? Is that something you know about from the lore?

Well you can still be old and look and act young, 80 and 90 is quite an age for Cyberpunk standard, not everyone can also afford the best care

Yea. I was desperately looking for Morgan in the main game and all I got was manuals about his past exploits. I hope he is in the DLC as an old weathered, soldier. What Hollywood star should portray him? Whoever the actor is should be high profile like Reeves and they should also star in a anime show about him too.

You're saying that Blackhando would be like 100 years old in 2077. But, what about Rogue? She is also in 2077 and she is not 100 years old.
Well not everyone is born at the same time. Johnny was born in 1988, Rogue I think at the same time. Generally in Cyberpunk people live a long time, when you have implants which can heal you, body starts to age slowly. And yes, Rogue is very old, same like Kerry, they are body sculpted to look younger, very normal in the lore.
