I've been partial to the Cat/Agco Challenger series tractors. The look of them to the way they put power to the ground. Awesome machines. Thank you Jason 👍🏻👌🏻.
Hi. I spent 20 years of my life working in one of these. I loved that tractor. We went with a cat because we had a lot of new ground full of stumps. Also my grand pa had several dozers right back to a early D4
In 1999 I was 13 years old and a contractor using a CAT 95E was ploughing my uncle's fields ... I had the opportunity to run the 95E myself for many days ... It was a huge privilege and upgrade for me as I was running a Ford 9600 before that ... Memories 😀👍
@@kygreenskeeper8326 We had two ice storms exactly a week apart, one two weeks ago on Tues, then last week on Wed, and now it looks like we may get sleet and ice as well as the snow tomorrow even. We have been cold, then the mid 50's, back to cold, ice, then warmed up and melted two days later, more ice, melted the next day and now this LOL It's MI for ya.
Spring is one of my favorite times. Especially that first day smelling the freshly turned soil. That great you get to work a few acres. No matter the size of field it’s fun to be out there on the land.
Here in Southern MN it will be a little over a month before we think about farmin. We're all green. 9620rx 50' 2210 field cultivator 9630t 44' 2210 field cultivator 9520rx 24 row planter and 8r410 with the 2nd 24 row planter. I'm sick of winter and looking forward to getting in the field. I run the 9620!
@bigtractorpower I don't think the boss will ever get rid of the 9630. 08 model with around 5800 hrs. It's kinda our backup big tractor. Some digging in the spring then on the roller. It doesn't do a whole lot in the fall unless tillage gets behind. The 2 rx's take care of fall work. We have 2 9870's that's been good combines and he finally broke down and traded the oldest one for a 690. Hard to get rid of something that's worked and we've had little issues with.
As always a great video. I really enjoy watching big high hp tractors doing tillage. Especially in tough conditions when the tractor really has to work hard I don’t wish those conditions on any farmer ever but those conditions unfortunately happen and when they do I enjoy the high hp big tractors having to really grunt and work hard!!
My dad work for a guy he use to run a lot of Cat tractors. He use to have 2 of them 95E's. In 2004 he trade them in on 2 MT 865 A tractors. He kept the 2 55's and 35's sold of 2 of the 3 mt's he use to run. (1 MT 865 and 1 MT 755). He moved away from crops to cattle but still have about 410ha till ground that he plants maize an soja. This is all in South Africa.
I don't have a farm myself, but the farms and contractors i know uses New Holland, Fendt, Valtra, Kverneland and Väderstad tractors and equipment to work the soil. I know Väderstad owns Seed Hawk, and is a Swedish brand, while Kverneland is a Danish brand owned by Kubota. One farmer i know even uses Överum equipment. Överum got aquired by New Holland some years ago, so New Holland does now have a factory in Sweden, where i live.
Cat really had a solid tractor with their original design, and completely redesigned them into another crazy great tractor. Our 45 has only had one problem in 20 years
These were well built tractors. I have been lucky to get to feature a 65, 55, 85C and 95E from the original generation. The MT800s are solid tractors too.
I used to apply Anhydrous Ammonia but only pulled a single tank . I've seen two tanks on a trailer , probably custom built. But haven't seen any pulled end to end . Great video I'd like to get out and work in the fields
I haven't seen one of those classic Challengers working out in the fields in years! It's mostly John Deere territory where my grandfather is. There were a select few oddballs though. The Challengers were extremely rare.
The flat track CATs are harder to find these days. This farmer runs modern Case IH tractors for the most part and a few John Deere Soundgards. He grew up liking the early Challengers and jumped the chance to add this 95E as a tillage machine.
@@bigtractorpower I remember when I was looking through an old tractor magazine I had that was issued a little over 10 years ago, there were quite a few of them for sale.
They provide allot of additional speed in tillage. I have filmed wheeled and tractors running together and tracks will lap the wheels after a few passes. Each has its pluses and minuses.
Tracks are awesome for flat ground and wide open fields with little road time. Tires are way better on the road, and especially on side hills. Tires for upstate NY, I dont enjoy sliding down the hill.

Theyve begun phasing challenger out now. To be fair, they are just yellow fendt s now

The flat track Challengers are solid machines. Built to last.

Very cool. The 95E in my opinion is a modern day classic. I will say I am a big FORD 9000/9600 fan. Cool blue tractors.
Have spent a seeding deep ripping with the 95E challenger.Very smooth ride and roomy cab, bullet proof machine.
It's really nice to see some spring field work getting under way. We're expecting 3-6 inches of snow tomorrow afternoon here.
Where are you from buddy

Upstate NY here, they say 5-8, I'm guessing it'll be 3-4, I'll just be redisking the disk in the nice warm shop
Love spring ground prep and planting I'm retired and do a few acres if food plots love spring and watching the real guys on your channel

Having two tanks on one wagon is the norm in western Canada and has been for 30 years. From twin 1000 gal tank to twin 2500 gal
Did the farm lay off their flock of seagulls this season? Almost unusual to see tillage without any birds following behind.
Excellent video
Thank you for watching.
Great video, thanks
Thank you for watching.
Those E series CAT tractors are the most dependable tractors ever built. Prove me wrong :)
They are solid tractors. Good running machines.

There is just something nice about that first spring day out in the field.
Great tractor therapy!
Great time a year.
Hello! Another awesome video!
Man this weather recently really has me itching to get the tractors goin
Hopefully warmer weather will be around to stay soon. It has been in the 80’s here this week but next week will be 40’s.

Eastern Illinois getting started already?! Its March 2?! Am I missing something here? I'm from Dekalb County, IL
This farm started a week ago near Ridge Farm.
Cool video 👍
Thank you for watching.
Tillage Time!!
😁👍
What are the big white tanks it is pulling behind the tiller? Looks like propane tanks. Not sure why he is pulling those. Any idea?
Those tanks are where the anhydrous ammonia is contained. The blue tool bar injects the gas full of nitrogen into the soil.
Tracks require extra maintenance that is not necessary with tires.
