One farmer does not have to own everything. If you have enough to live on then back off, and let some other would be farmer have a shot at life!

Too much water in a field can make soil conditions too wet to properly grow certain crops or makes working within the field difficult
Some fields have a higher water table than normal, possibly due to topography or a shallow rock layer preventing drainage.
