I was an Army scout in the light infantry in an Intel battalion, operating always in a 4-6 man fire team. These guys need to spread out more and you run one at a time across roads or clearings, even at night
My father was NZ 28th Maori Battalion, and saw service in North Africa and Italy. He told our family that the German soldier was a great soldier and he looked like it. I love watching German films where to good guy is not necessarily the good guy. I have studied German Philosophy, history and Theology. They are simply unparalleled in my view. God bless Germany.
Also the drum mags for the ppsh-41 had a lot of issues, you had to scavenge dead guys for functioning mags and made sure they worked, hence why Russia decided to stop making them and also making new ppsh-41's to not take drum mags lol
I speak from experience; for a few upcoming film projects for my channel, I've tried having the crew speak English and in German. Learning German dialogue for a group of 3 or more actors is extremely hard, especially for foreigners, in our case, Americans. Speaking in English is easy, and I plan on doing what the guys in this video did (use casual, formal English with a few German terms). It's much easier and still keeps the film authentic.
The European theater ended May,1945. The video time-frame states 'final moments of WW2.' Actually most likely in Jan-Feb,1945. The Eastern Front brutally (both sides) makes the likelihood of Germans surrendering highly unlikely. It wasn't until 1955 that the Soviets finally released their German POWs. The Soviets also keep Rudolph Hess in prison until he died. The Soviets made it clear the wanted revenge.
@@revmarcell6449 We can understand that they wanted revange, knowing what happened on the east front and especially atrocities against population and soldiers 😭😱
Mann Armylie it must have been as horrible as many Red Army veterans coming home to demolished villages, dead family and friends and then those who came home to find nothing left.
Post war Lithuanians antisoviet guerillas used to never surrender against the Russians. This was simply meaningless. If they used to take some guy alive then they tortured in dispicable manner, make you to tell everything, then after a mockery used to kill him and send his relatives to the Gulag with tiny chances to get back ever after 10-20 years imorisonment. The common rule was the last bullit or grenade for yourself. After the Soviets had made their A bomb at 1949 , the guerillas lost any hopes to be freed by Americans and did not accepted new volunteers to be enlisted. The last squads fallen in battle at 1953. So the last German soldier had the sane brain - to surrender to Russians was simple meaningless.
Too close together spread out!! a tactic worked out in the early stages of ww1, this squad is either very green and untrained or looking to be captured.
Y’all should spread out more. If a mortar hit you in the middle yall would be screwed. Another thing. You don’t yell out to your comrades when the enemy is around.
Hi, any soldiers would scavenge any weapons they could get, plus, the Germans liked that Russian designed sub machine gun that much, they put it into production themselves later in the war, I believe.
The only thing i dont like about this movie is that the german soldier dont have german accents and sound like hey are Americans thats the only thing that ruins it
I commend you for the effort but there are just too many good war related movies and short films with actual Germans speaking German for me to be not to cringe when the characters speak English. At least you didn't use fake German accents like other do.
I’m guessing it’s a Chernobyl situation where there they don’t want to spend years to become fluent in German, speak it with a funny accent, or spend money to hire a good actor that also speaks German.

I agree, gotta watch out on those linear danger areas.
I agree wholeheartedly about spreading out. But remember, this is a film, and they need to stay in camera view
Awesome ending!

Is this that famous English speaking squad from Munich? I have heard of them. And the snow looks very authentic.
2:50 lol he has snow in his gun
It’s okay, he hadn’t shot it yet.
1:22 one grenade would take out the whole squad. Soldiers wouldn't patrol this close together.
They need to be in the cameras view.
Whens part two of the soldier taking revenge against the Russians. That would be cool.
My favorite TH-camr
He he kinda did and he isn’t giving up till he is dead and I think he wold do the same to the rushans if they serenderd to him
The german with the k98 and whitish helmet kind of looks like the lieutenant from unknown soldier.
That was awesome. Great job to you and your crew!
He should've thought to take the PPSh instead of his rifle. A 71-round magazine can cause lots of mayhem!
Assuming the magazine still had 71 rounds and not 3.

No new ground. Every good story has new ground.
Looking at the older ones you've really outdone yourself. There's some inadecuaccies but to be honest I enjoyed it regardless.
The area Looks like the VAST Snowmobile Trail in Island Pond VT
Winter time fighting is brutal !!!
From a non soldier, why not just sit tight in a hidden place and wait out till the war is over.

The fact the Germans speak English is fucking awesome you can understand what there saying needs to be this way in all videos

the fact that they lived so long in war to be killed in the last minutes
The lesson here is honour those who surrender or not prepare to fight more than a man
