- After a few months, I finally finished my 1/350 bastard. I could have added more figures, but I couldn't take it anymore. I was just ready to put on on the final clear coat and put it on my shelf for display.
The website I used for some of the aircraft and forklifts/tow tractors was www.shapeways.com and for the decals I went to www.starfighter-decals.com. When you go to ShapeWays, just search 1/350 and go from there.
For the windows on the helicopters, I went to a weird site called www.totalnavy.com.
I don't know about you guys, but those decals for the helicopter windows saved my life, so here is the exact link to those decals:

Excellent build on the USS Interprise US Navy aircraft carrier. I dont understand why you have US Airforce F-15's & F-16's fighter jets on board. . . . as well as the US Marines CH-53 helos. Those "tanks" that ya were talking bout at deployable life rafts for the ship's crew. Ya done a very good job on this project. I served aboard the USS NIMITZ CVN-68 & the USS CONSTILATION CV-64 aircraft carriers as jet engine mechanic, aircraft maitanence, & flight deck launch & recovery personell of our squadren aircraft.
Don't beat yourself up about the decals & your painting skills. Modeling of any kind at any size is very teadious but also very rewarding. Pat yourself on the back for a "JOB WELL DONE", bud. This is an excellent build as i said before. Thankya for sharing this video. Its always a welcome sight to see what my fellow modelers are putting together. If ya do another carrier build, a word of advice. . . . your flight deck should be painted flat black, not gray. But overall, an excellent build. It's true that F-16's and F-15's didn't serve on an Aircraft Carrier, but who cares? They look amazing on the deck.

VERY NICE build - I started my build in 2001 and only finished in 2012. YES, can HATE the additional costs (etched brass)... and we did NOT have the 3-D printed stuff. I donated it to a recruiting office - I was an Seahawk Naval Aircrewman from 87-99 (and then called back 2002-2006)... Beautiful work. I am awaiting the Trumpeter 1/350 Kitty Hawk at the moment... I served on HER for 2 years and am dreading my build to make it look like my home of those years.

Mix up of planes and a couple of small mistakes here and there but still a great great job, I couldn't make it better to be honest, kudos young man keep building we need more of you around.

I flew F15s and F16s my whole life and I could’ve landed both on this carrier so being the most experienced person in this comments sections I think this is more accurate than real life actually

i understand how you feel brother after so long and so much money and work a model can become a pain in the ass like my 1/72 scale fine molds millennium falcon i was going to put lights in it but i said how much am i really going to use the lights . but you did a great job sir .
You did very good work at building a complexed model like the ship kit, you should be proud, It's more then i would take on. You need to do more research about carrier operations. Some of the things that can help you in the future for a project like this are: Learn what the personal jersey colors mean. I see very few Blue and yellow which would be the predominant colors followed by red, green, purple and white. Jet engines would be changed on the hanger deck only. Fork lifts would only be on the flight deck during ship to ship replenishment operations. All support equipment would be yellow with one exception. Ordinance would be on small red push carts because of the size of the ordinance elevators. As stated below F15 and F16 aircraft are not carrier basted, they do not have the structure to take the ponding of carrier operation. Life raft containers are the same color as the ship not white. The flight deck should be a flat finish not gloss. The flight and hanger decks surfaces are covered with a non skid material about 1/2" thick applied with a mop that are then painted with the deck markings. The surface will ware out a pair of boot in 5 months. There are tiedown locations on the elevators just like the flight and hanger decks. Aircraft are tied down when on the elevator for movement. don't want to loose one over the side. Aircraft would be parked with their tail over the side and the main mount wheels at the deck edge. There is a railing that rises out of the line around the elevators on the flight deck when they are down. I know this looks like I'm being picky but I have made a lot of mistakes in the pasted because I did not have the knowledge gained from good research. The internet can provide a lot and if you have questions go to a blog site and ask. people that have been there are a good source. My time on a carrier was a long time ago but operation and procedures have not changed much. Keep doing good work like this and research what you do.
The f14's (Tomcats) on the forward cats should have there wings spread out.

I feel ya Nick. I've been working on mine for 9 months. Lit up the island and hangar deck. One cool thing about the island was that I used automotive window tint to make it look like the real thing. I also installed 2 micro leds [orange] into one of the aircraft and drilled out the exhaust nozzles to simulate a take off. I can't wait to finish it and get it posted here on you tube. You did as great job Bro. Really nice clean work.

I've got an entire battalion of miniature jets, harriers, helicopters, tanks, anti aircraft vehicles, and other support vehicles, made by Kenner in 1989, part of a megaforce collection, 2 of those carriers would work perfectly for a mother base, or at least a good size ground base.
You did a great job on the ship and aircraft, hope you know that the F15 and F16 do not belong on aircraft carrier since they are USAF, shapeways has awesome aircraft which I have a ton of but I wish they came with decals for USAF, awesome job on the Big E again

Nice work/build but you mixed up Navy and Airforce.
Since you put 15's and 16's as well as CH 53's you should put a 747 and maybe a B52 on it as well.

I wish just once a model builder cared about flight deck accuracy. But still, nice build. By the way, elimination of the tower back aft renders Enterprise useless. It is essential to have the radar on that tower.
Wasn't the after Radar structure for VFR landing ? Or at least the "new" (in the 1980s) system. I build this kit LONG ago, and can understand the absolute frustration.. I was KNUTS and used a Pri_Fly diagram of a specific date for aircraft positioning and actually had silk-thread for deck-chains for the aircraft
@@Mariner311 That missing tower makes it impossible to land aircraft. We always called it the water tower but it is actually the AN/SPN 41 instrument landing system radar for glide slope.

Why does this carrier sport F-15s and F-16s?
It looks awesome to me. It’s all the time and patience that you put on it that makes the difference. I’m just starting on a smaller version 1/720 and it’s no way going to look like yours. May I know what colors you used on the deck and the sides ?
You should take it out on Guy Fawkes Night and have a bit of fun with it. You keep referring to the aircraft carrier as this “thing”. It would be so exhilarating to have some fun with it. I sent several Airfix Heinkels to Valhalla one Guy Fawkes night, many years ago.

The build itself is amazing but the aircraft are a bit inaccurate, the CH-53 and the CH-47 are marine helicopters and have not served on the enterprise. The f-35 is a bit too modern for the enterprise and the f-16 + f-15 are strictly not naval.. Nice build but might wanna remove those aircraft and make a ground base diorama

It's a nice job you put a lot of work into it,But uou could have done a better job with the Air Wing and they never had a CH-53 aboard were are the SH3H Sea King helos Or MH60 s helos and they would never toe a jet engine topside on the flight deck!!
The H-3 helo's were decom'd a long while ago...On the F-14's, only the CAG's plane was painted that way. All the others were flat grey, including the A-6E prowlers, too dark on the grey. What's with the Air Force planes?? You spent all that time on a beautiful ship hate to see it ruin with the wrong planes.

Hi.. before all, congratulations for the high quality of model kit that you have realized.
I make this hobby from 30years ago and I have some observations on this model.
In your video can see that you have put in central fly deck a f15 (colored dark gray and details red..) this is not correct because the f15 in any version never are deployed on the carrier.. this carrier have make 3 operations during his operative life, Korea war, Viet Nam war, first gulf war and kossovo war.. (about the Korea war I'm not sure), during this operations the first squadrons is composed by A7 hawk, F8 crusader, A8 vigilante and Sea King helicopters. During the Viet Nam war, the enterprise fly group still in upgrade him jet's and the crusader are replaced by F4 phantom and the A7 become trainer aircraft and stil replace by A6b prowler... During this conflict also the US navy have ordered to any carrier wing to adopt a colour to hig visibility because initially, many aircraft are take down against "friends fire" because also the Vietnamese MIGs adopted a silver coloration.. for it, the helicopters have adopted a bi coloration White for upper side, and gray for the down side, the prowler are colored whit body: white, noose: cream, pilot canopy: black, wings border: white... Same for last squadrons of F8 ..
The F4 phantom was colored body: white, pilot canopy and noose: black..
In gulf war and kossovo war the jets have painted on gray and low visibility design.. also the composition of fly group have changed.. the F14 replace the vigilante, the f18 replace the f8 crusader.
Also, your flight deck is so much brilliant, and it is not true because any fly deck have a cement (hangar deck) and tarmac (in fly deck).. also the qty of aircraft is variable to 60 into 120 jet's.. All it is only my personal observation keep clear.. but when our model crafter's want realized any model type also having to make some research about the history of our model kit for realize also one model that have a historical context and realized that whit more accuracy.

By the way, for anyone that needs decals. I have so many decals for this project left over, it's unreal. I even have fresh decals for the runways that I wish I knew I could've purchased before I painted them to perfection on my own with countless amounts of tape and numerous attempts and failures with the airbrush. I have them all in a box in a closet, if you want them, I will be more than happy to ship them out to you for the price of shipping.

Those Tomcats at 7:29 belong on the Nimitz. Not sure why you did that to the island with the decals. The 65 is not on the aft side (back). The E should have been inboard along with the other 65. Could have used some putty on those seams for the deck.
Also not sure why you have all those red shirts launching the aircraft, shooters are brown shirts.
And gloss on the flight deck? I mean I could go on and don't get me started on those F-15's. For what this kit costs you should have been ready to have spent a good full year on the build. It took me 2 years to build mine. I spent 4 years on the Constellation CV-64 as an AB (green shirt). One last question, did you put the 4 trap wires on the kit?
On kits like this you just have to know when to walk away for awhile. JMO

Antenna are tricky. You can carefully warm up spare tree and stretch them and cut to size.

You know there is a polite way to point this out. As soon as you saw the F-15s on the deck you should just say, ahh he is just enjoying what he is making and is not an expert by any means". I wish I could paint my 1/350 aircraft this well.
