I'm 73 and have been a PF fan since day one. I've heard this song hundreds of times and it still brings a tear to my eyes. With Gilmour it was always about the emotion he brings not high speed shredding. How I long for the days when musical talent was all that counted and not how you looked in a video. Sit back, lights out, headphones on, and whatever is your pleasure and sink into the music like quicksand that slowly draws you down and buries you in rich tones and drifting melodies. Nothing in music today has that quality that will endure the test of time. Just ask yourself, Will this be played 100 years from now? We all know the answer...
I believe that in the future Pink Floyd will be looked at as a Mozart or Beethoven of our time in history.
Yes! Still…🌠✔️
72 here & I feel the same. So many PF songs touch the soul.
A mere 61 here ... but I agree!
From one old guy to another, I totally agree. I am 70 and I like you, been a PF fan from day one.
Best quote for David Gilmou: Every guitar wants a David Gilmour for Christmas.
This whole concert is a masterpiece
Pink Floyd's Pulse is probably one of the best concerts ever. Absolutely amazing perfomance, mix and production.
I was there too it was still the best concert I've ever been to.
Love your reaction. No, this wasn't the final song, believe it or not! They went on to perform 'Run Like Hell', utterly rousing. Simply the best concert ever, it will live forever.
This was the first song of the oncore, they followed it up with 'Run Like Hell ' ,now that is a performance to blow you away especially listening to them ( and watching the performance) together, it was an absolute mind blowing experience in the arena.
This was actually the last song of the second set. Then "Run Like Hell" closed the encore.
This was the second song of the encore. Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, then Run Like Hell was the encore portion.
This is how the set went at the Rose Bowl @@fargoweb
@@smacknig i was there too, and i concur
@@ianfortier6796 it depended on which concert in the tour you went to. this was the last song of set 2 when I saw it
First hearing this when i was 15 and changed my life. That was in 1990 :)
1994, unless you mean the studio version.
Comfortably numb live 88 Delicate sound of thunder... EPIC 🎸👏👏👏
this is still ranked as 1 of the best live performances today. best guitar solos ever written. should react to people covering Pink Floyd songs.
This is a belter of a performance, anything from this concert you have to check out. Sorrow, High Hopes, Keep Talking, Shine on You Crazy Diamond are just a few highlights. Watching this is what got me into Pink Floyd way back in 1994
Saw them in Washington DC, the division bell 1994 . Best concert I ever saw.
David rips his heart and soul, serves it directly to ours, deeply out of deepness and leaves us rethinking our existence. This is how the music is supposed to speak to us.
I saw the Pulse tour in 1994 in Foxboro, MA, it was as good as what you see on that DVD, I assure you. Saw them also in 1975, 1977 & 1987, they were always the best concert ecperience, best sound. lights and special effects, just a step better than anyone else. One of These Days from the same show is also dope, they were the best! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
Dave Mustaine (Megadeath), once said: 'David Gilmour Could Do More With One Note Than Today's Shredders Can Do With a Dozen'... It says it all. I have watched and heard this video I don't know how many times. It just moves me every time. This version of Comfortably Numb isn't a song... no, it's MUSIC!!! I saw this concert in Montréal in May of 1994. I still remember it. Unforgettable.
I was fortunate enough to see Pulse twice. Phenomenal concerts! And yes, best guitar solo ever! Nobody had a sound system like Floyd and as an old lady, I've seen most of the greats over the years, nothing has compared to Floyd! Also, not last song of concert. Just fyi, may want to check out Sorrow, another great Gilmour solo. David plays with his soul, not for speed or shredding.
Pink Floyd - on the turning away ( Live remastered)
Pink Floyd - Sorrow ( Pulse )
A must a must a must a must a must a must a must
Best band ever. Great reaction!
They did one more song after this... "Run Like Hell"... This was 1994. I'd seen them before in the 70's. I'm 75 years old. I stood in line for 3 days to get tickets for this concert when they came to the Oakland Coliseum. We saw basically the same concert as recorded here... It was an amazing experience. I suggest to react to every song you can find from the PULSE tour.
62 and I was actually there on the night of this performance at Earls Court. It will stay with me forever.
I saw this tour in Washington DC, best concert I ever saw.1994
Fantastic reaction... 57 and I was at the San Francisco tour for pulse.... it was the greatest concert I ever experienced!!
best band of all times 😎👍🎶🎶
Everyone should hear this song just once in their life. Now you have to listen to Sorrow and High Hopes 😊.
I was there in '94 I wept with joy at this rendition, now check "Keep Talking" from the same gig if you haven't already it'll do your head in 🤯
I understand you brother ! I was there to and till up this day I am still in awe!
Thanks to my parents, I have been listening to Pink Floyd since I was born. Great reaction as always!
Same here, my mother would put it on for me if the dryer car ride around town did not work or the car ride around town then she but me back in the crib and this was back when when there were vinle records
@@johnhorchler667 same here, my parents still have their original vinyl from the 70’s… so jealous!
@@EmmaTawtonMine too, but they handed them over to me😬🙏🏻😎
@@mattymacmische nice!! You’re so lucky. My dad is 73 and just bought a new record player and listens to his music every day. But he does let me borrow them!
Wow you grew up with some incredible music that's for sure!
Thank you! 🙏🙏😊
This was the second of three songs they did for the encore. First was Wish You Were Here, then this. The finale was Run Like Hell. You MUST check that out too. If you can, watch the entire concert. You will never see or hear music the same way again.
Greatest concert I've EVER been too, was this one back in 1986 in Sun Devil stadium in Arizona. BEST CONCERT EVER.
I was at the venue for this Pink Floyd tour...the night i went they played the whole of Dark Side Of The Moon...it was epic!! This is the greatest guitar solo ever.
It gives me such a rush of joy knowing that relatively young people are being exposed to this level of musical artistry. Wonderful reaction, and I hope you continue my friend. Like I've said many times, Pink Floyd are giants among legends. Peace.
In fact, this was the second last song. The final song is Run Like Hell where all the stops are pulled out...mind blowing shit. Check out Coming Back To Life, Sorrow, Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, High Hopes, Keep Talking...the entire concert is mind blowing.
Um. Good news champ. The song after this is the finale. Its called Run Like Hell and is basically Pink Floyd showing off. Trust me it will blow your candles out. 😉. Love your reactions champ. And just to think you have just started yiur journey. Now after run like hell from the pulse tour, you either do "On the turning away" live version fron delicate sound of thunder. Now that is a guitar solo you never want to end. There is also "Sorrow" live from the pulse tour that guitar solo almost puts you into a trance. Keep up the great work.
That's some great news haha looking forward to checking it out!
Really appreciate the comment my friend and thanks for tuning in to my videos! 🙏
This was NOT the closing song. 2 to last one. :)
I believe "Run Like Hell" was the last song of the concert. At least when I went it was.
I was gonna say that but you beat me to it. You can hear the first few notes of 'run like hell' just before 'comfortably numb' finishes.
I was there in 1994 London earls Court . The most amazing concert I have ever witnessed. Pink floyd are unique music legends...
At first I was going, "watch the bloody video" and then homies feeling it....even better!
Every song on the
Pulse CD has moments that will make you cry.
I saw them on this tour, Vanderbilt Stadium Tennessee. They played "On the Turning Away" as the final song. Best concert and light show I've ever experienced. If I had access to a time machine, it's the 1st time/place I would go to.
High Hopes and Sorrow same concert. Learning to fly and great gig in the sky too. You’ll be amazed !
One of the best solos ever, maybe the best, and he absolutely killed it live.
Hey, brother, love the reaction. Welcome to the family, but what caused me to post this was, you are the first reactor to mention that it was "studio quality " cheers.
You got it right mate, early on Gilmour discovered you don't have to play all the notes, you just play the notes that move people. And he's one of the best string benders out there.
I'm 56 years old and was in Clemson, SC May of 94 and saw the Pulse tour outside, and I still get chills watching this for the 5000th time, sux getting old but this is what I got to experience
I was at this gig!!! Still the best gig ever!!! The whole audience were literally floating …….. simply sublime really was loved watching this Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼🫶🏼🖤
Pink Floyd takes it into a different dimension...
Got to be the greatest live concert EVER! Thanks for your reaction.
Pink Floyd is by far my all time favorite band. I have seen them 2 times and one of them was the Pulse tour the same concert in 1994 at Soldier field in Chicago. My wife got me the tickets for my birthday, she paid $75 for 2 at that time. In the parking lot someone offered me $1200 cash for the 2 tickets and I said no. The guy got upset and said to me , I’m giving you $1200 in cash that’s a lot of money, why say no… I said because tonight I get to see a God like play the guitar. It was not only an amazing concert like you see here it was exactly the same… when the concert was over it started to rain, so my wife and I decided not to drive all the way home about an hour away and to get a hotel room downtown, after dinner and a few drinks we went to our room and 9 months later my beautiful daughter was born… we named her Sydney and the rest is history… all I can say it was an amazing night and a gift from above…. Fyi the last song they played in the concert after this was Run Like Hell …. You need to check that one out live from pulse also….
You want to hear the last song in the Pulse Concert they used to close their shows I saw-RUN LIKE HELL!
Talk about a driving and upbeat way to end their show!
I remember the first Pink Floyd concert I went to. The ads bragged about PF 20 million dollar sound system(1970 dollars!) I can only say the performance along with the experience was a defining moment in my life! Never have I been so affected by a band and I was fortunate to be able to get prime seats for two more of their concerts! They have been my favorite band from the day I first heard them in 1968! They were 4 music geniuses that came from the future to warn us of the evil was to fall upon us! I believe the Floyd Boys are destined to go on the same shelf as our best classical music. I thank them for their unique sound!
And that’s how it’s done. Voted the best guitar solo ever in 2023. Look at the full concert in your own time. It’s spectacular. Great reaction. Knew you’d love it. I love this more than studio version too. Run like hell is the last song … 😁🇮🇪
2nd last song of the night. Run Like Hell was right after to end the night. Best concert I have ever attended.
in many ways the ultimate song in this concert was actually 'Run like hell' and 'Sorrow' which both blew everyone away, but of course every song in this concert was gold 10/10 concert best ever imo
Every song from this show was next level!
There ya go!!! I got to experience this in person in Pittsburgh, PA when they came through on that tour. Unbelievable. I'm totally with you...every time I listen to this I want the solo to just keep going and going and going! One of the best pieces of music to ever be performed!
I saw this concert live in The Globe Arena in Stockholm 1989, nothing will beat that experience...
You nailed the genius of David Gilmour....not a single wasted note.
03:55 Second best guitar Solo ever
06:21 Best guitar Solo ever
I'm so glad for seeing it live
That was their 2nd encore, and yes…..the last song. I was there in Vancouver BC in the summer of 1994. I will never forget it,
I'd always wanted to see PF live and was thrilled to have been at this concert in LA in '94. Unbelievable -- sums it up nicely. I'm also thrilled that they captured this on the Pulse DVD to be able to relive it -- both so I can enjoy it over and over and so others who missed it can see the band at their height. It's too bad Waters had already broken with the band.
The light show was phenomenal. When the guitar solo started, I was amazed that the circular lights/screen actually tilted out over Gilmore and focused the light on him to accentuate how amazing the sounds were coming from his guitar. Also, the entire concert we wondered when they'd use the light ball. I couldn't believe how cool it was when that lit up the entire Rose Bowl stadium, and when you couldn't stand any more it broke open to create different patterns. Then in the final seconds, the top half opened to also contain that spinning light that looked like a siren -- and at the end all the crazy lights dropped, leaving just the siren spinning in the dark -- just like our brains, eyes and ears. Amazing.
This is the GOAT concert ever... period!!!!!
Next song was Run like hell at the Pulse concert I was at.
Now you HAVE to watch the Pulse version of Run Like Hell and see WHY it's the actual last song.
Now for SORROW from the same concert!!! Huge!!!
Hahahahahaha...Pink Floyd makes people crazy...Thank you!!👍👍👍
I was at this concert in 94 still have my ticket stubs
Money - live at pulse is awesome. I highly recommend reacting to that version 🤩
Had some Pink Floyd loud in the car on my road trip today. 4hrs pass by like nothing if you just jam out to the concerts live. 🤘🏻😎 another great reaction! Rock on🤘🏻
I'm sure it would have felt like 4 minutes only haha
Thanks my friend appreciate it! 🙏
Best and most genuine reaction. What a damn song that is. I mean I’ve always loved floyd there just out of this world. What I luv is the fact that everyone member of the band is just a genius with there instruments they all have that chance to shine. Damn good vid man thanks💪🏻
STILL the best show I've ever been to. 1994 at RFK STADIUM
Dont give up on the solos....there are many more.....gems for the soul
“Sorrow” from this same concert was/is amazing.
Still the best concert I've ever been to
Dude, when I see you "System of a Down" just pops into my head. No say in the matter. Instantly "HELLO."
sevsimo RUN LIKE HELL! 🤞✌️
Architects completing the masterpiece.
So glad you got to listen to the live version of this. Now you need to do the opposite and do the studio version of Great Gig in the Sky.
As long as he understands the meaning to the track.
ANIMALS is a must. Please do entire album reactions. Just don't want you to miss out on such an AMAZING EXPERIENCE. 🤞✌️
Whenever I recommend this video I always give the viewer some advice.
1) never take your eyes off the screen because Floyd are incredibly visual as part of the whole experience.
2) never pause during the guitar solo.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention anything about the visuals which everyone else is blown away by.
If I only had a time machine.
I'd buy tickets.
Chills, just crazy well done.
You need to check out all the songs from this great Pulse concert. They are all outstanding!
I came of age in the late '60s through the '70s and you need to understand that music across all genres was at it's apex and it will never be the same again. Go look at rock and roll, rhythm and blues, country and western, operatic, jazz, funk, you name it. It was an amazing eruption of great music
No one can make a guitar speak like David.
Holy crap what a song. I was lucky enough to go see them on this tour in the old Texas Stadium while rain was coming through the open hole in the roof. Gold lasers and Pink Floyd blasting...religious experience.
My very first concert was Pink Floyd doing Dark Side of the Moon at the age of 8 years old with an older brother and have loved Floyd.
Dude!! That whole concert is just bad ass.
I am enjoying your Pink Floyd reactions you have done. I guess I am a little behind your posts. I am a big Floyd fan. I am one of the lucky ones who had the opportunity to see this 1994 tour, but let me tell. We drove from Oregon USA to Canada for the show. It cost us a whopping $50.00 a ticket. I love having the DVD to relive the night. Watching Comfortably Numb still brings the chills. You can see they spared no expense on the lighting, but let me tell you the sound system was strong and clear. I am glad you have found Pink Floyd and you appreciate the journey. Keep it up!
This whole concert is ridiculous. This is the second to last song. For a atmospheric song is high hopes
I was blessed enough to see Pink Floyd 3 times '87-'88 for the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour. The first time, it was my very first rock concert EVER. I got to see a lot of really great bands after that, but Floyd will always have that special place in my heart. I only wish I had been old enough to see them when Roger Waters was still with the band, but I had to see him separately for Radio Kaos in '87.
Subscribed because of Pink Floyd. Best band I’ve ever heard and I only discovered them 2 years ago!!
David plugged that GD guitar into his soul
this is another level , all these guys are monsters , David is a monster .
Run like hell followed this as the final track, what a great night to watch this set.
Gotta check out wish you were here, and run like hell from this concert!
🤗 More Pulse video reactions please! 🥰🐰
Дэвид Гилмор великий и неповторимый, гений нашего времени! David Gilmore is great and unique, the genius of our time!
and to think this was the middle of a 3 song encore... what a concert!
Your Pink Floyd journey is just beginning. Now do Wish you were here and Shine on you crazy diamond.
Run Like Hell was the final song. Watch that one next! Also 1 critique, NEVER close your eyes when reacting to a Floyd video. You can miss SO MUCH in 10 seconds. :) Great video!
THE WALL is a ROCK OPERA. They even made it into a MOVIE. ✌️
I came home late from a night out on the lash, and I live alone so always turn on the TV for background noise. Pulse concert was on and I was mesmerised. All of it is amazing
Love your passion for PF…but as hard as it is to refrain from closing your eyes during this song, you have to watch and listen. Pink Floyd in concert is an audio and visual experience combined! I was in Tampa Stadium in Florida on May 6, 1994 and saw this live…amazing!!
It doesn’t matter how many times I listen to this I’m still in awe of that guitar!!!
The whole pulse concert is on TH-cam if you want to watch it. If you'd like to react to another song from this concert, great gig in the sky is out of this world. Of course!.
Buzzing that you finally watched this mate!!! Best solo ever IMO. Loving the journey of discovery man, hopefully more Floyd and Sleep Token sooooon 👌🏻 #teamchoppydrops
And no, by the way, that isn't the closing song. They played Run Like Hell after this!! Only Pink Floyd could do something this big and not even finish on it!!!
Appreciate the comment my friend and thanks for joining me!
Much more to come from both bands that's for sure!
Wow, just exhausted. So glad you listened to the Pulse version
My friend... You have just witnessed the greatest guitar solo ever recorded (not to mention they cut out almost 2:30 secs of that solo in this video). David Gilmour is the reason that I picked up the guitar at age 14 (1984) and have been playing ever since. If I only had a fraction of David Gilmour's talent I'd die a happy man. Yes, it a "arguably" one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded. But in "my" eyes, it IS the greatest guitar solo ever recorded. I don't know what happened that night in London's Earls Court but he must have been feeling it that night. There are very few guitarist out there that can actually "speak" with their guitar. Imagine what it must have been like being at that concert? It had to be a religious experience and I and most definitely not a religious person. I've listened to this concert well over a thousand times and it never fails to take me to another place. David Gilmour is truly a master at his craft.
And by the way... Run Like Hell was their closing song of the night right after Comfortably Numb. Well worth a listen.
Man this is 🔥. I saw them in concert 1988 and this was there last song, the crowd went wild. I can never hear it enough. Hands down the greatest guitar solo EVER. It was there closing song but they did have 2 encore songs. Oh the opening song was “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”.
