    Hello, I’m actually trying to manipulate the characters appearance. Specifically I’m trying to give a Japanese face to a Russian soldier, but I can’t do it without completely jacking up the soldiers appearance. Any recommendations about how to fix this?

    On men of war assault squad 2 how would you make it so that when a unit is shot at they don't lie down on the floor, I find it annoying when they do.

    Friend, I went to do the TRIGGER for the soldier to sit on the floor, and then I did everything right that neither you showed in the video only that I used the animation of the doll sit on the floor that is the: idle_passive_squat_ground_gun_stap_sleep And then I went to test and Did not work, I was "trying" to create a mission with Stealth systems. Help me?

      Hello Viktor, just having a look at what you put there and the animation name is 'strap' not 'stap'. Have you put that in the trigger accidentally? As in the animations should read: idle_passive_squat_ground_gun_strap_sleep.

      Sorry to bother again. One more question: How do I stop the soldiers from doing the type animation I tried with "See_enemys" and did not work.

      No worries, have been experimenting with this and what I found to work (after trying various commands and triggers) is:
      Create another trigger, and in the condition put 'entities' and create a zone in which you are happy a soldier enters they would be 'detected' and select that zone in the entities condition. Put in the options that if there are more than 0 soldiers of the enemy player in that zone the trigger will operate. You can then put in the command 'actor_to_waypoint' and create a waypoint just in front of where the soldier is for example sleeping. Therefore if an enemy soldier enters the zone, the trigger will work and the sleeping soldier will wake move towards the waypoint and fight.

    hey just discovered your channel and was wondering is it possible to make ur soldiers break the loop when an enemy's near by? cause when i do the animation they dont react when they get shot at or when an enemy's near by

      Welcome to the channel! I received a similar question and have got soldiers to break the loop by using 'actor_to_waypoint'. The way I go about this is by: Create another trigger, and in the condition put 'entities' and create a zone in which you are happy a soldier enters they would be 'detected' and select that zone in the entities condition. Put in the options that if there are more than 0 soldiers of the enemy player in that zone the trigger will operate. You can then put in the command 'actor_to_waypoint' and create a waypoint just in front of where the soldier is for example sleeping. Therefore if an enemy soldier enters the zone, the trigger will work and the sleeping soldier will wake move towards the waypoint and fight. So this is like if you wanted to have a stealth mission or something but will work for all animations on loop

      @@HalibutPlays Hello Halibut. This video was helpful, as I now know how to do animations in the editor. But on the context of the soldiers to "break the loop" I repeated every step you said. Except for one part where I got confused. When you say "Put in the options that if there are more than 0 soldiers of the enemy player in that zone the trigger will operate," I don't know what you mean. Where can I find these options, where should I look when in the editor. If you could help me understand how to interact with these options then I would be grateful, especially since I want to create a stealth mission on my own. It would help to just know about this specific problem, or if you can explain with more details then either would suffice. Thank you for reading this comment, and (hopefully) responding!

      @@quintinblake9702 Hi Quintin, apologies for the confusion. By '0 soldiers' I am referring to the 'count' at the bottom of the entities condition. As long as you put the count greater than (with the > symbol) 0, this should tell the trigger to fire if there is greater than 0 soldiers within that zone.

    Everytime i try to get my soldier to sit on a chair he keeps moving away from it if i put him too close to the chair and ends up floating. Do you know how i can get him to stop moving away from the chair. Thanks in advance :)

      John, which men of war are we talking about? ie. Men of war, assault squad 1 or 2? And was it a steam purchase or on a disk? Just the different games have different places for the editor

      Rightio haha, when I click on Men of war assault squad 2 in my steam library, before it plays a box comes up saying in this order: Play Men of War:Assault squad 2, below that: Editor, Safe mode, Safe mode (no mods). I then just select editor and press play.
      Is this box not there for you john?

    Do you have an animation of the Nazi salute? It's an arm forward salute used in the WW2 German era. I can't find it.

      Hi. no, that NAZI arm stretched salute is non existent in Men of War. I have asked around for some years now without avail. The same with the US,/Europe soldier salute. I can't believe Digitalmindsoft has left an important part out of this fantastic game and its Gem editor. The animation you show in your video are pre-fixed and cannot be altered properly, such as when a soldiers sits on a chair he sits on it super fast, or leans forward while seated fast, but when laying back in a upright seated position, it can be scripted to go slow. Such is the case where a seated radioman reaching for a microphone on the table can be scripted to make it lay back to the chair slowly after calling for back-up, but for repeating the forward process there is no scripting command for that (note: the microphone had to be made by me because there are no microphones in the Gem editor list, only a communication radio system). Also, the train tracks the locomotive and its passenger cars and transport platforms are not seated accurately on the tracks. Sure, they lock into position when placing them on the tracks but their wheels are not exactly rolling on the tracks and are sunken into the rails. Plus, the locomotive front right wheel is inverted, the wheel lip or flange is outside the rail instead of inside. As we know, most of world war two started in Europe, I see no much of European livery. There are no proper boom gates and posts with the X or triangle of a train that can be placed at the crossings, the types used in its heydays, where a loud ding-ding bell was suspended on the same pole. So, for the boom gates I had to use the barriers and then create a double effect on closing and opening as only on opening the speed can be adjusted, but on closing - the boom gates just drop down like a hatchet with virtually no control over that. But I was able to do it after weeks of exploring other ways of doing it. There are also buildings that allow soldiers to go in and take up windows and rooftops positions but these are few and limited. There are towers that no soldier can climb on but I have been able to figure out how to place them in towers and fire or snipe at the enemy. There are also other special effects you can blend in if you have some programming knowledge and skills in computer games. Alternatively, you can check my G+ Profile where you will find my *Men of War* Tips and Tricks. See for yourself how many possible animations and special effect I have been able to do and more, including train whistle, hissing steam and realistic clanking of train wheels. Some posts have static photos with written instructions, others are video clips, or previews, of full length video that will be added on TH-cam later, when ready. Cheers.

      Mick, you seem to have a extensive knowledge of the game and its programming, I agree that such an animation would be very relevant to be included in the game. As for the rest, GEM editor has been pretty extensive in what missions it allows you to create, however, it definitely isn't perfect for some of the reasons you have listed. I have recently uploaded a 1 hour static video tutorial on controlled spawning of waves of soldiers and also how to set waypoints to trigger other events, including how to interlink Waypoints so that soldiers will choose which waypoint to go - perfect for ambush and other attacks.     Actually, you don't press the 'U' to open the Call Function box, you press the 'W' key on the keyboard.

    Somebody can tell me how can I save my game, becuase, i know how to do it, nevertheless, all the movement, the waypoints, the triggers, and the animations that i use it in the editor works fine,BUT, doesnt appear when I enter to the editor again( i mean, i saved the game with another name, close the editor, enter again to the editor, and the animations doesnt start ), the truck doesnt move ,or the plane doesn´t fly, how can i save all the map with the animations to play again when I will enter again , , i press save, so i hope that does happens, but nope.
    sorry my english.

      if you save on a map that is located in a compressed file than the save will get deleted. For instance the original campaign maps should revert and they will delete any new saves, so save as a new map in f2, and do missions in a new map under f3.
