      I love electric helicopters! But I love Nitro helicopters more lol they hold a special place in my heart because that’s what I learn to fly on and grew up flying. I personally think everybody should have at least one nitro helicopter in their collection it’s just such a different flight experience!

    Sweet I was hoping you would do a nitro build. Personally Im not a fan of nitro anymore. I had a few nitro planes and a car. Absolutely hate the cleanup and tuning deal. Electric is just so much easier to deal with and more power!

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve done a few Nitro builds on the channel. Yes electric definitely has more power and no mess or cleanup but personally you just don’t have the smell and sound of a Nitro and there’s just some thing about the pipe screaming smoke coming out that is just so much better to me. But I still love my electric helis!

    Is it worth spending the extra money on the OS 55HZ-R DRS engine over the standard 55HZ-H?

    Hey Jeff, Love your channel!!
    Do you by chance know the part #’s of the SRXL2 receiver and the satellite? Looking at moving up from my OMP M1/M2 and Blade Fusion 360 into some of the bigger 580 sized models.
    Just trying to make sense of the receiver and satellite setup. Plan to go with the ikon2 and a hobbywing esc, hoping to have telemetry on my IX14.
    Thanks in advance!

    Sadly i had a very very hard crash on my raw 580 this weekend. It almost needs a new kit because a lot of stuff broke ( I literally mean a lot). It was idiotic from me ruining the tx16s and i knew it was not trust worthy for a big model but i just sold my vbar for a profit, and the model suddenly discontinued while doing a dive and went straight to the ground and take in mind it was still spinning so you know what that would look like. Might. Sadly only the tail servo and the furthest cyclic servo survived. Might use these servos on a plane and get a new nimbus 550 kit to try something new

    • @Dcscockpit
      @Dcscockpit ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had the tx16 for years and trust it 100% to all of my aircraft . Never had an issue. What rx were you using? Where was it placed? What happened during the crash? What did your fbl logs say?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately that’s the reason I quit using my TX 16 us. I crashed two helicopters because of signal loss and I was only 10 feet in front of me. I can’t trust the radio to fly anything at all nor will I risk crashing a expensive helicopter because of it. A lot of guys like them and use them but I personally would never. You gotta be careful running helicopters servos and airplanes because you cannot set the frequency and you can hurt the servo.

    • @Dcscockpit
      @Dcscockpit ปีที่แล้ว

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 no you can't, even my flysky radio let me do that, but the default i believe is probably 50 hertz from a standard rx, at least thats what it was with my flysky recievers at default. won't hurt them, just won't run at full potential. I actually burnt up a nice futaba digital servo with my flysky radio by cranking the frequency on the radio and it got super super hot really fast and was done. Fbl lets us choose the frequency, but for planes you won't hurt any servo using with it.

    • @Twx97
      @Twx97 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dcscockpit i was using a r161 reviver on the rx plate. The fbl is totalled but the rx was still usable but i threw it

    • @Dcscockpit
      @Dcscockpit ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh…that will do it. Not your transmitters fault. Stick with spektrum for the heli’s and you won’t have a problem. Don’t fly radiomaster or Frsky receivers.
