No BS technique here or fancy pro-level flop shot nonsense. Just take the stress out of the shot and build your confidence. Remove the pin FROM YOUR MIND if it's too tight to hit to. Hit on ON THE GREEN. Your proximity to the hole after the shot will improve as you gain confidence and learn how to play in onto the green. Eliminate the carry if you can by aiming away from the bunker, or be happy if you can finish 15-20 feet past the pin. The bunker will vanish fro your mind and you will become the man you were meant to be. DOMINATION - reduce stress, reduce strokes. Save a life. Send the check.
I really LOVED it when your assistant or helper came running across, stopped, and posed before running to the flag/ hole? LOL! Thanks for finally doing a video about hitting over bunkers near the green because this is a major killer in my game. Unfortunately I don't have a 54 degree club so I guess use the correct club based on the lie? My shots are basically on barren areas over a bunker.
I haven't played golf for 13 years and I wont be able to play till I go to the UK in late summer IF i can find a set of clubs and a mate to play with BUT The Baus makes clips I enjoy watching for golf and life advice. Whaddavlogga!
I will say, your video series are incredible. The positive mindset displayed in these videos more high handicapper golfers need to accept and leave the ego in the carpark. Well done sir.
Will start using this strategy in the morning. Golf starts in Melbourne Australia tomorrow. I’m playing twice this week and am really looking forward to a couple of relaxing games. In the time away I’ve been trying learn about the mental game. Time for a new perspective. Thanks for the advice 🏌️♂️👍🏻
Finally played my first 9 of the year today. Hit some good shots and some bad shots. Managed my round the whole way though and had a great time. I don't get to practice much, but just learning your course management techniques has already had a positive impact on my game. The wind was really tough today and contributed to a few poufies, but hey, it's better than being stuck inside!
I have learned to eliminate the rinky dink and binky bonk by not giving myself enough time to allow them to rise in my mind. Stand behind ball, see the shot, address the ball, (no more practice swings) and hit all within 5 seconds. Success, guaranteed!
The most frustrating part about this video is how good the practice facilities are at the course you are on That is a great set up to practice at My course we got a putting green and a bit of grass around it but you can't really get any aerial action happening as you are surrounded by cars in the car park It is almost an afterthought the idea of providing practice facilities for golfers at most courses
Just going golfing... gunno go full “de golf sidekick” today 🤞 Although bunkers are out of play today... equals aim for the bunker from the trees and get a good drop near the green.👌
This is so right. I sometimes get the yips over difficult chips. I shouldn't worry too much about getting it close to the pin because I'm a decent putter, but i sometimes forget. GET IT ON THE GREEN STUPID should be my moto. Maybe i should get this tattooed on my arm. 🤨
Great advice Matt! Too many are trying to emulate PGA gods on highlight reels. If your course management is ok you shouldn’t leave yourself many of these dinky shots (follow the way of the playa😀)
what I wouldn't give for the short game area at my local course to be this vacant. Now with covid its roped off to 3 sections and only 1 person per section and 2 bunker unfortunately both are always packed with 1-3 people waiting in line just go get access
I just subscribed and I love your recommendations on the mental side of the game, it's inspiring. I hit fairly well but have issues with aiming. Could you give some tips on aiming at your target?
Is it the higher the number on the bounce, the easier it goes through the rough? My 56 has 11 deg. My 52 has 10...would one be better for deeper rough vs tight fairway lie?
Had this exact shot on Saturday. Went right at the pin and chunked a chip into the bunker. Due to covid restrictions we are supposed to play them as ground under repair so I pulled it back out and as I took my stance I heard Matt’s voice in my ears “just get it on the green man!”
I just got a new wedge and threw my 58 degree in the lake. It was so worn out, that the ball never spun. It's probably a combination of dry clubface, deep grooves, and clean of debris
Very difficult to even focus on the pin when your sister roams the green in full view of the target as well as the camera. With this in mind, said sister should become the initial target with a much less lofted club. Possibly a Driver. Then, by eliminating her, you now have a clear path to the primary target, (the pin) and can now focus on its elimination from your mind, rather than her (said sister) romping about as if she is the primary focus. (Eliminate Sister + Eliminate Pin = Focus on Target). Or something like that. Anyway, even a 20+ handicap crapping his pants knows this! 😁❤⛳🏌️♂️
What he's saying is, as Alan Watts says (in the never ending space time continuum), a knife cannot cut itself. A golf club cannot hit itself. A Baus cannot see his own eyes.
Aaah, those little sisters, always so demanding... respect though, you didn't lose the focus, not even mid-sentence - maybe she should try a little harder...
I thought the same thing..those of us with sisters can relate..I’m 33 and my sister is gonna be 38 next month and I am still able to ignore her with ease
love your vids, finally broke 90 using only 4 clubs and a putter amazing how much easier golf is when your not putting it OB so often!
Great job playa. It's a long road to enlightenmnt but welcome
this is my favorite shot! I play it high, low, as a chip, as a pitch, as a flop, I love it. always hope for fluffy grass!
Practiced this in the morning on the 14 hole of my local course, just me and the sounds of the birds in the trees🏌🏾♂️

What a beauty that course is.

GIOTG, this alone has saved me shots, just that simple mindset. Baus stuff Matt!

That's actually my favorite shot. Helps me visualize the landing spot
Great tips thank you. Used them on the course today and help me to shoot an 87 on my first round after lockdown.

Love the grey bucket hat!
Great advice! Get it on the green!! Too many people get too cute right here and make a Tripple instead of a bogey.
Thanks , could finally hit over the bunker without fear

Where you get your bucket hat?
That’s what I always say before these shots, no binky bonk bullshit
If I'm using the putter next shot, it's a result.
"Lovely chaps!"
Waddabucket! MacGyver mullet incoming?
Maybe I'm wrong but I believe a clean wedge face is more important than clean grooves. It's the face that spins the ball; not the grooves.

Are your hands ahead of the ball?
Yes
@@GolfSidekick Thank you.
How much bounce does your 54 have?
11° but there is no grind, it's pretty square. I am going to look for a heavier, meatier 58° too now, maybe get the TM milled grind as well
@@GolfSidekick I am not selling but Taylormade milled grind 2 is a beast for check and spin. 💦
