The strangest power window controls I've ever seen & more weirdness - 1995 Infiniti Q45

No guy that window switch in the center console was exactly like my car. It was a unique Q45 feature, it was all about being unique, inside and out pearl white metallic with tan leather. Only other car that had the 3rd visor directly above the rear view mirror was the W126 560 Sel and the W126/C126 500 SEC/SE/SELs back in the day. My Q45 was a 1996. Same color and everything. Manufacturing date 6-1996 which was the end of the 1st generation G50 Q45's 11-89--6-1996. VIN # ended in 0797. I LOVED that car!! I had a custom spoiler and racing striped on the roof and the trunk lid. Bought it 4 $575 without reverse. Best car I've ever had in my life. I miss it more than anything and everything I've ever had in my life 😪 The Q45 had 278 Horsepower for $53,000+ and the $78,000 W126 560 SEL only had 238 Horsepower then in 87-91 it had 272 Horsepower lol. With exactly 1 second faster 0-60 time than the 560 Benzola. 1994-1996 Q45 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. The W126 560sel 0-60 7.2 seconds lol!! Infiniti made huge improvements along with the face-lift in 1994.

I was in high school in 1995. I remember the first generation Q45, but could not remember the odd power window controls. On the other hand, this was a nice generation for both the Q45 and Lexus LS400.

Buttons prevent rattling. Center window switches are so both driver and passenger can control rear windows.

The 90s was a strange era, especially for emerging Japanese luxury brands. I quite like these things, though that once looks like it has certainly seen better days.

Darren Persad Sadly, a lot of first gen Q45s and LS400s are in piss poor condition these days.

I own a 90 Q45 and I can say the windows are one of the most unusual things about this car. In the 1st gen, 90 to 93 the center window controls were inverted. So when pushed down the window went up and when you pulled up the window went down.

i believe some old camaros and firebirds also had window switches behind the shifter

Did you play with the motorized panel that hides the sound adjustments for the audio system? I know the early Q45s had that.

Yes not specific to the Q45. Our Primera also had both windows switches on the doors and the center console.

In 1995 this car was already dated. When Oldsmobile made the Aurora to compete with this is was so much ahead of the competition, at least to the Japanese and Lincoln.
