    This Festivals is celebrated at Guanajuato, Mexico
    This Festival celebrated every February
    there are interesting stories in this festival
    Way back in the 17th century, the town’s namesake, affectionately referred to as “San Juantito,” became embroiled in a battle with the area’s wealthy landowners. As the santito had a penchant for stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, he earned himself something of a reputation for being “Mexico’s Robin Hood.” From here, the particulars get a little fuzzy; the modern day celebration at San Juan de la Vega is a bastardized reenactment of the skirmish between San Juantito and the local dons. Which side possessed the original hammer bombs is forever lost in the smoky hazy of history. Nonetheless, the celebration of the conflict continues to be celebrated near the time of Lent each year, in highly incendiary fashion.

    Never heard of this before, it does look a bit risky 😳

    • @JoeXTheXJuggalo1
      @JoeXTheXJuggalo1 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is very risky. Many people each year get some kind of injuries from the event. It can vary from a handful people to dozens. I think 2 years ago there was like 40-50 people that got hurt from it. This festival has been around for over 300 years but I never heard of anyone dying from it.

    I do know that certain towns in Mexico revolve around the firework industry. So it would make sense they have this special festival!

    It seems that there are two types of male pigeons... the fearless ones that will stay in front of your moving car as long as possible and the more fearful ones that will not do it. The female pigeons will choose the fearless males if they survive but will settle for the other ones if they don’t. This is a pigeon 🎉festival.

    They need longer hammers l. I can thin k off 100 reasons not to participate in this lol. They're grown though so they can make their own decisions.
    Country folks who have too much time on their hands. Back in the day, when I was young, we'd go dynamite fishing although our parents would've killed us if they knew. They just thought we were going fishing on the perot boat. That actually works by the way. Anymore it's "frowned upon". 😏
