Ex Printer Technician here: If you’re buying anything but a laser printer then you are GOOFIN!
Anything else is garbage and will cost you hundreds to do the same job.
Laser uses toner so it never dries out or goes bad unless in extreme heat or cold, doesn’t need print heads, won’t blow through fusing units, and won’t be nearly as messy.
Unless you’re buying large equipment to run a print shop you should only be buying laser printers.
Also I’d buy a brother above all else, HP is notorious for cheaping out on paper pick up rollers which cause jams and misfeeds.

Hi mate. Thanks. I was looking at a Canon PIXMA for office use because ink is cheap and it's high quality. It's a photo printer but would it be ok for normal use? Printer - CANNON IP8750

Really? I recently bought an EPSON X4100 inkjet printer because of its much higher printing resolution (5000x4000-ish). Most other inkjet printers offer more lower res pictures.
Does resolution not count here? I mean, I did take a look at a brother laser printer, which costs a bit more, but it prints out much lower resolution pictures so I didn't bother to consider it. So my question here is whether laser prints better quality pictures than inkjet, regardless of resolution?
Would like to know your opinion, because honestly I don't know much about printers. I just bought it based on the printing resolution.

    • @panterathx
      @panterathx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Former printer salesman here: if resolution is key, inkjet is going to be a better idea. Laserjets cap out, but something like an epson 7000 can do amazing picture quality.
Even a cheap hp envy series with the pigment dye based ink combo can out perform the imaging quality of a laser.
But for tons of printing where quality does not need to be outstanding, a laser is highly recommended.

in my opinion, if HP developes a NeverStop color laser printer, it would be a game changer. My only question with these NeverStop printers is when the toner has to get replaced, doesn't the remaining toner leave a residue?

Ironically the first model the CLJ 5 didn't have any cartridges and the toner came in bags that you had to pour into the developers. It was apparently based on a Konica engine but yes it was very messy. It'd be great if HP release a colour version to reduce the ridiculous amount of plastic waste generated by a regular cartridge set. Even the packing of the cart requires a lot of plastic bags and polystyrene foam so it is pretty wasteful.

I'm gonna put this out there... I work in an IT role for a bank that employs about 2200 people and we exclusively use HP and Canon printers. Somehow I managed to consume the task of printer administrator, so I manage a fleet of about 900 HP network printers and Canon networked multifunction units.
There years ago I decided it was time to replace my personal POS dried up Canon ink jet printer with one of the models we offer as local machines, the HP M452dn color laser printer. Bought this unit straight off HP's public store for $239.00 around Christmas time.... I've never personally owners a laser printer before, but I cannot stress enough how much I love this machine. Gone are the days of garbage ink based printers and their 10 minutes of clickity clickity spin spin spin click clack crap those junk ink printers go through. Gone are the days of printing 10 pages of something before the $120 worth of ink is dry and useless. It's a networked machine, and when I send a job to it, by the time I walk to where the machine is, a 10 page full color document is ready for me to pick up.
Seriously... Stop buying these shitty ink based printers. Color laser is 1000000% where it's at.
Oh. I'm several thousand pages in with the factory original toner cartridges and fuser. So, yeah. Also, I would probably recommend not buying one of these stupid multifunction home office printers. A freaking scanner is like $20 at most, if you really need to scan something.

    Good review.
The concept of the Neverstop Laser Printer is great, but it lacks everyday features like:
    a) Automatic duplexing,
    b) A separate manual feed tray so when you need to print an envelope or on letterhead, you need to remove the paper from the single paper tray to use the other media and replace the paper again
    c) The paper tray is tiny (only 150 sheets) and
    d) The scanner doesn't have an automatic feeder.
HP printers are usually great and reliable, but this one misses the mark especially for business-use. Will wait for an improved model.

Misleading review that is ignoring the current situation around HP Neverstop 1200 line. All the reviewers seem to adopt HP's tech specs and publishing their reviews without veryfing the most important product details. Unfortunately, the consumers had to call out all the flaws of this product. I will not comment on its connection problems, out of paper error fault, bad print quality and go to the core - the print economy. Even with 5% page coverage (according to HP statement) you will NEVER be able to achieve 2500 pages per refill (or 5000 at full tank). In fact, you will struggle to get to 1200. HP tries to convince the consumers that their new firmware solves this but it only does so at the expense of print quality which was below average already. The reviewers should prevent people from buying bad products.

Does any company make: #1 a Printer that Doesn't Drink all of your Ink? #2 Works & actually-Lasts more then 2 years without having problems? Is there "One Intelligent & Reputable Company" out there ??? I am in the market for a lite-duty, small home printer for Resume's & Cover Letter. Any input is greatly appreciated.

HP has ruined these laptops with only having access through the app. The app doesn't work right and I don't have control with my computer. This was with the HP envy I just had to throw out.

This is BS. In the beginning the ink will be cheap, but down the road, HP will, I promise, increases the price of the ink. Don't be fooled by this marketing ploy.

If you're talking cost savings then get a Brother printer. They're cheap and compatible toners go for like $5 for 1000 prints. So yeah, beat that HP.

These damn things never come with the fking instructions. It literally says download app, connect to device, and follow instructions but there is none. Like wt is the difference between a regular printer and a smart printer. Isnt the only thing it supposed to do is fking print a piece of paper

HP is the worst printer company in the entire world. Don't ever buy HP printers. They charge you a ton of money for the ink cartridges and they randomly decide they don't have any ink and that you have to spend a bunch of money again for ink. These printers are a rip-off, this company should go out of business!

Hp printer sucks. If you have your own paper they still want a subscription from for paper or they disable your printer.
Never getting another inkjet hp printer again. Maybe any hp printer again. Looking at brother laser printers
