    My parents have an ink jet printer. We use it so infrequently that by the time a cartridge nozzle has dried up, the cartridge has only been used for about 10 sheets.
    These laser printers seem magical with their "no liquid so nothing to dry up" and "2400 page yield."

    Paying for two sets of ink cartridges usually costs more than the actual ink printer... Its unbeliavable.

    My art department got sick of replacing their pro-model continuous ink printers (printers that feed from external tanks of ink) so they tried a high-end color laser printer. They won't buy another inkjet printer again (with the exception of large-format pro inkjets) because the laser printer does an amazing job for photography and prints clear text. They use them interchangeably for paperwork and photo printing. They're also generally faster at everything, so they can have entire classes finish printing in the time it took for 1/3 to 1/2 the class with the previous printers depending on quality settings.

  • @xd-qv1li
    @xd-qv1li 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Same here. The day I bought my printer it gave an ink low error, I put tape over the sensor and have been printing ever since! Literally hundreds and hundreds of pages. Even if it the printer dies today I already printed more than the $40 worth I paid for it. Absolutely love it!

  • @Karmah01

    LASER IT IS THEN! Thank you SO MUCH for your quick rundown! 👍
    They have color laser printers now? 😮😵😲 Holy moly! I didn't know that! It's been a few years (decades) since I looked at laser printers and they only printed in black back then. They were also VERY expensive!
    I've had inkjet all my life and I don't print much. I just bought new cartridges about 6 months ago....$60! and I desperately needed to print something out today just to find out that the cartridges are dried out AGAIN! And I even kept them sealed in a baggie so they won't be exposed to air. Didn't work!
    I have only used colored ink 3 times in 10 years, so having a color printer is not really relevant to me. If I REALLY feel the need to print pictures, I can invest in one of those photo docks.

  • @S13v7n
    @S13v7n 11 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    On top of lasting longer, you don't end up wasting ink either.
    Many times in my experience, its either cyan or magenta that runs low and I end up having to rebuy a brand new tri-coulor cartridge. Some companies even make it so you must buy 2-1 combo colour and black ink cartridges. If they sell standalone black catridges, they often cost more money too.
    Laser printers may cost more for toner, but you can get 4 dedicated toner catridges for each colour and they print much more than inkjet.

    Buying new ink is more expensive than a new printer with ink incluted

    • @d3xbot
      @d3xbot 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +xxX_BomBer_Xxx that depends on some factors: Does the printer come with starter cartridges with less ink or does it come with full cartridges? You should also factor in things like technology recycling / disposal costs (depending on municipality and local regulations) and environmental factors. Where I live, it costs less to buy new ink because you get fined for improper disposal of electronics and it costs less than the fine but more than the difference between printer and ink cartridges.

    • @rtificial8292
      @rtificial8292 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    when you look at 720p to 1080 the image may stretch but because pixels are now more densely packed the words and smaller details are now in a higher quality. 1080i on the other hand is only equal to 1768x992p small dif but when you use a computer the dif is very noticeable.
