  • Toyota announced an $803 million investment at its Princeton, Indiana auto-manufacturing plant is in preparation to introduce two, all-new yet-to-be-named vehicles to its current line-up, one being a Toyota and the second a Lexus. This investment and product diversification will also add approximately 1,400 new jobs at Toyota Indiana.
    TMMI will focus on production of mid-size SUVs and minivans including the Toyota Highlander, Highlander Hybrid and the Toyota Sienna. TMMI will cease production of the Toyota Sequoia by 2022.
    The $803 million investment will be used to prepare the manufacturing line for the new vehicles, production-employee training, as well as provide supplier re-tooling at their facilities. Since the first Tundra - the original Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana vehicle - rolled off the production line in 1998, Toyota’s total investment in the Princeton site is $6.6 billion. The plant has the capacity to assemble more than 420,000 vehicles annually.

However, I'm very excited to be getting my factory ordered (an end of March order) Highlander 2021 V6 platinum soon. I was notified that I would be getting it delivered by the first week of June or sooner, which surprised me because I thought longer due to the pandemic - impressed!!

    Given that some people will watch this video due to being recommended it. I want to ask a question. I'm from Australia, and just bought a CX-30 2 months ago with cash, because I needed a car immediately. However, I want to buy a better car soon. Should I get a top of the range Toyota Kluger/Highlander for $72,000? Or a Tesla Model 3? They're the same price.

    • @knaka5033
      @knaka5033 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although they are the same price they serve very different life functions, so it depends on what you need and the factors around you. Highlander is much bigger and can carry more luggage. You sit higher up so it gives you a commanding view and comfortable sitting position. Model 3 you’re getting an EV with all the modern tech. Do you have access to charging port and are there charging stations around your area?

    • @kareembaba7498
      @kareembaba7498 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@knaka5033 At the moment, I don't have access to a charging port, however I will probably use my CX30 for about 8-10 years, and by then I assume I'd have a family by then. I'd probably go for a Mazda CX-9 instead, as it offers more tech than the Toyota Kluger for cheaper price. The Tesla is good, I can always install a charger at home, however, I don't prioritize performance and don't prefer minimalist technology and design. Additionally, the model 3 isn't good for tall people, especially in the rear seats. But I appreciate your reply, I almost never get a response when I ask questions.

    Build quality at TMUSA factories is still not as good as TMC factories. TMC keeps bitching and wants TMUSA factories to improve their QDR. Look at the body panel gaps. Could be much better.

      They don’t use a temp agency anymore. Did away with that in 2019. Ask me how I know.

    I bought a new Toyota Camry and fell apart after 30,000 miles. The quality is terrible and the dealership service is poor

      Not my experience. Mine is trouble free and I've never had better service with any of the 20 or so new cars I've purchased over the years.
