I am following this video and i picked up a +10 claymore from the depths. Can i skip the steps travelling to momosik shrine, forcing the bloodmoon (i dont know if another +10 is possible for the guards claymore (59 power?) The second try with the octorok took so long *impatient and figured, what if, i skip that part and move on to the next destination your telling me to go to next lol
The royal guard claymore was a 72 weapon in botw to begin with for crying out loud haha
Short, i have a 49 claymore from the depths and now i travel to kakariko for the clothes :)
This was amazing to watch and thank you! I'm 64 years old, beat the game a month ago but still love discovering stuff like this. I can't seem to put the game away!
I'm 13 and feel the same way, I also went back and played the older ones
oh god
64 yo man and plays Zelda, oh God I wish to have grandpa like you
@@pleasehelpmeto15beforeista9They’re better, the older ones are so much better.
You are never too Old to play Video games.
If you are using the weapon for throwing: Instead of using a molduga jaw, use a gibdo bone. It does 40 dmg and still gets the buff from bone proficiency.
This is only for THROWING the weapon
If it only has one shot anyway why not use gibdo bone? Or do gibdo bones break when mounting lynels?
Weapons don’t take damage when you mount a lynel
@@sabrinalibera9416but an attached gibdo bone will still break on the first hit when mounted, so you want the molduga jaw for lynel hunting.
If you’re going to make these weapons for throwing, sure, use the gibdo bone. It’s also a bit easier to get than a molduga jaw, assuming you’re not using dupe glitches (gerudo underground cemetery is a good place to farm gibdo parts)
Does the Ganon set work too? It also gives you bone proficiently.
If there's one thing I love, it's spending an hour farming for an item just to get one single throw out of it lolllllll. So silly.
I can't help but chuckle at the idea of all lookout landing staring at link as he repeatedly slams a somehow pristine and very strong greatsword on the ground, muttering to himself "I'm gonna spank some lynels so hard with this..."
terrifying thought if you see it as strength training, *considering how much force he generates when slapping solid ground.*
Link breaks swords like it's nothing because he's too strong for any weapons out there except for the Master Sword. I can definitely imagine him saying that.
@@unhappytoyman8767really? I just thought the swords were fragile and weak.
@@LilXancheX nope he's just so strong that the weapons end of breaking so quickly because of how much damage is done to them, that's why every other character with a weapon doesn't have it break on them
Lowkey if there's any video game hero I'd avoid fighting at all costs it's Link, the BOTW memories were enough to convince me lol he was destroying battlefields filled with Lynel, Hinox, and guardians at once and had 1 scratch.😂 Dude might be small for a hylian but big things come in small packages. My guy never misses arm day😂
Once you find a ghost soldier holding the weapon you want, save in front of them instead of picking up the weapon. You can then reload the save over and over and the same weapon will be there as long as it was rendered in when you saved. You can reload the save until until you get the modifier you want. It’s way faster than the Rock-octorock method, but it only works if you’ve killed enough enemies to get the yellow modifiers.
The game usually even does an auto save when you reach the top of a pillar
What do you mean “It's way faster than the Rock-octorock method, but it only works if you've killed enough enemies to get the yellow modifiers.”?!
Wait is that why I cant get the yellow modifiers? I have to kill a certain amount of enemies?
Yes there is a hidden Xp system where you get Xp by killing enemies, once u have enough Xp, enemies rank up and u can get modifiers
Helpful
The fact that this is kind of practical for lynels just goes to show how insane totk is 💀
Imagine how fast the Ganondorf boss would be with a maxed out inventory full of these
I watched a video of someone doing it. (I think it was in a top gaming plays episode) the whole fight took less than a minute
Ganondorf has a pretty beefy health bar, so it takes at least 2 of these to kill him in the first phase. About 6 total for the whole fight.
If you want to defeat a lynel with it make sure you ride the lynels back or your weapon will break the reason is: when you ride a lynels back it doesn’t take up any durability but if you don’t ride its back it will break your weapon

You don't have to explain it, but thanks anyway

If you don’t want to spend rupees and other items on buying and upgrading the radiant armor, you can get the evil spirit armor set from the labyrinths for the same effect
And stealth, but radiant glows in the dark, giving it bonus points other than defense
i honestly think radiant armor looks awful@@holyelephantmg8838
Why do u need to glow in the depths??? U can see gloom clearly and there's plenty of glow materials and bright seeds
@@jordanlicht1601 maybe at the start of the game, but I’m not really sure how you’re going to get the radiant set early on without doing the side quest first
Just get the miner set if you want the glow benefit
One thing to consider is the evil spirit armor that comes from the labyrinths also give bone proficiency. Just saying in case anyone is struggling with the armor part of this
Upgraded barbarian armor for bone proficiency and attack up
I’m never attempting any of that, but I still learned a few things, great stuff!
If you’re throwing the weapon you should use gibdo bones since they last for one hit and deal 6 more damage. You can throw your weapon and recall and have it hit an enemy and it uses no durability but still deals damage
Yep, gibdo is also an alternate item to fuse to a weapon if you will just use the weapon for throwing. But if you'll also use the weapon for hunting lynels, then the best option is the molduga jaw
@@gameislifer stupid boy
What do you mean “if you also use this for hunting lynels”.
This is just an example of you being wrong and trying to justify it.
If you are using this weapon on anything other than a lynels back (which was the entire premise of your intro) it is a one time only use. 0rbital116 is correct and for literally EVERYTHING else, Gibdo bones > Molduga jaw.
Now if you edit your video and only show people hitting the backs of Lynels, then your point stands.
@@AnilSingh-fb2yn LMAO. You were wrong. Have you even watched the video? He just explained at 9:24 that if you throw the weapon, it will double the weapon's damage, but that doesn't mean you will use this weapon for throwing. Use your common sense, or, I mean, your brain, lol. Of course, this weapon is used for hunting lynels. Such a nonsense comment you have. Molduga's jaw is way better than Gibdo bone in any way because it doesn't break when you hit lynels at the back. Throwing it is just a second option. Next time, watch the whole video first before you comment 🤣😂
Can you please explain the recall method?
I don't know if anyone already said this. Even though I am impressed by the blood moon forcing technique (it might come in handy in other situations), it's not particularly necessary, because there are plenty Rock Octoroks in Eldin. I have like 5 marked in the flat area around Death Mountain and there are some more in the area between the mountain and the village (though they are more hidden). If you get a lv. 1 bonus (white / blue) from a Rock Octorok, leave it be, because it does not affect the lv. 2 bonus (gold). Kill the Octorok, then just move to the next one. The rest is explained in the video.
Thanks for this clarification. Because the forced blood moon tactic isn't working for me anyways.
Thank you for this tip, because if you’ve already broken the rock wall, the opal arrows won’t cause a forced blood moon, I guess due to a lack of surface area.
@@tombom21 I had already made my way down here, killed enemies and got thr chest, but the rock wall respawed as well (at least it doesn't look like it had been broken before, even though I know I had). So not sure how OP is able to force a blood moon.
Genuine question but what do people do in this game?? Especiallg end game, just wander about deciding if you should use a weapon on a certain monster or not, I want to find a reason to play this but I load up fight a few things light up a bit more of the underground and just feel like it was all a waste of time
@@Spacecowboyy69Grind and get better. If you're not improving, then you're losing. The game's about overcoming adversity and doing so with the items at your disposal.
There are additional multipliers that increase the damage even further. Hammers do additional crushing damage against some enemies, like Taluses. I think that multiplier is 1.20. Additionally, the game has hidden multipliers for longswords that increases damage by a factor of 1.05. Finally, replace the molduga jaw with a gibdo bone, and you've got damage over 2,000 when throwing the weapon at a Talus.
But that only works against taluses
@@beltrantaibo3133froxes if you hit the ore.
It would probably be almost impossible to recall throw the weapon at a talus
The thing with the blood moon is excessive because there are just a ton of octoroks in that area. Just find another one.
I know of at least 15 locations all around Death Mountain, and I'm sure there's some I missed
There's another one like 20 seconds north of the first one used in the video.
Hmm I guess for the purposes of making a few of these at the same time it's good to know how to force a blood moon
I mean even just having a blood moon is handy sometimes
I needed to reload like twenty times until I got the +10 damage power up.
Don't forget the claymore bonus! Heavy weapons have I think about a 1.3 times bonus! And for spears, it's a 1.3 times reduction, and for the normal moderate-speed weapons there is no effect!
heavy weapons only have a 1.05 bonus
Don't forget, guys: if you don't feel like upgrading the Radiant set, you can always settle with the Evil Spirit set because it has the same set bonus. Plus it gives you stealth, which makes doing sneak strikes that much easier.
Fun fact: two handed weapons actually do even more damage then they show in the menu! And spears do less. This is to help keep people from always choosing the two handed and ignoring spears, because they’d think ‘big number good, small number bad’, completely ignoring how the attack speed of the weapons effects the damage output.
If you want specifics, Croton did a whole video on it
Nah I think lances are the best weapon type of the game, claymores second because of the charged attack
@@Fermin-hw5pd Yea, the one handed weapons easily have the worst charge attack, but they have the ability to use the shield to make up for it.
@@Fermin-hw5pdYeah, spears are the best for DPS by a mile. I am surprised players would not realize this and pick 2-handed instead.
@@Rwscienceguy Yeah, I think not being able to use shields with lances and claymores is common in games, I have seen a little of Elden Ring and I think you can only use your remaining hand if you use swords or the like (feel free to correct me, I only play rpgs lol and I don't know how those games work)
But...fusing shields to weapons is underwhelming because I don't think the damage is as good as with monster horns
@@OrlandoAponte I use whatever I come across, but if I see say, a claymore and lance I'm getting the lance, it's understandable people choose the big numbers, it just takes time to realize lances are better, on the BotW days I did the math to calculate which weapon type did the most damage in 1 set of attacks
Great video! Small tip, There are a lot more chances for a royal guard's claymore to spawn in the gerudo highlands depths, so fast travelling to the lightroots there gives you a better chance of finding one :)
There’s a side quest for the shop you can do to cut down prices, it’s pretty easy and I heard even if you do it after purchasing the clothes you get refunded the difference
Just make sundelion porridge.
It's mentioned in the video, but it goes by fast.
You do a really good job of showing exactly where everything is and I like how you pause for a second on the map and fast forward through the slow stuff
After seeing the ghost soldier holding the weapon you could instead of doing the octorock exploit save the game and load till you get the enchancement you want.
And also if you do decide to do the octorock trick or for later, you can shoot it a soon as the sparkle effect happens and it will drop the enhanced weapon, saving you time and possible injury
And while the blood moon force is nifty, it is hardly necessary as there are A LOT of octorocks around death mountain, many right beside the cart tracks around the mountain. And many on the north side mountain-path as well
I love how easily avoidable the enemies in Hyrule Castle are. It was harder to get around in Hyrule Castle in Breath Of The Wild cuz it seemed like there were more enemies in the castle. I mean besides all the Guardians. Yes there are Gloom Hands in Hyrule Castle but they can be avoided on your way to getting the Hylian Shield. There is a video on here that explains how to avoid them while getting the Hylian Shield but i forgot who uploaded it. But yeah the inside of the castle is pretty empty.
My guess is that during the initial attempts at restoring the castle town a bunch of people (probably including link) went and cleared it out, so that once the castle rose there wasn’t much monster left to work with.
Or maybe Aerocudas airlifted some monsters up there, who knows
I agree! I was able to get some awesome armor and weapons/shields/bows right at the beginning of the game without having to fight any enemy at all! (One of the armors was my favorite as well, it's nice to be able to wear it from the beginning)
Technically the weapon is even stronger if you fuse a gibdo bone instead of a molduga jaw since you’re throwing the weapon anyway. Normally the gibdo bone would break after one hit but so does the royal guard claymore. This would get you almost 200 more attack if you throw the weapon
What about when you mount lynels? Does it still follow the "no weapon damage" rule?
@@mercury2157gibdo bone will still break on a lynel
I believe throwing a weapon has the same effect of it breaking when you hit an enemy with it. Throwing vs final critical hit.
@@burger_kinghorn throwing actually does double damage
@@ch5rry240 so does the final, breaking hit with a weapon.
Random question
How do you get that glider color? 😮
You’re the only one who made me find it. All the other youtubers wasted a lot of my hours. Thank you!
Thanks for the Video. This one didn't require a lot of work to do. I did it and beat the Lynels within a few shots. What a powerful weapon 👍
What was that paraglider fabric?
Actually, two handed weapons have a 1.05 damage multiplier in this game so the real damage would be 162 x 2 x 2 x 1.8 x 1.5 x 1.05 = 1838 damage (with a gibdo bone and a sneakstrike you can go up to 8075 damage in one hit)
Not to mention, the hardcoded claymore bonus!
The modifier for throwing a weapon is only 1.5
@@baron-stijn So his calculations are wrong (mine as well for the first one because I relied on the video)
@@baron-stijn im pretty sure its 2, as all critical hits are x2 damage, and throwing a weapon makes it a critical hit
Insane damage....
While pretty interesting I can't bring myself to go through all this trouble for a single hit. I have an "about to break" one for lynels but I just use it for that. What I'd love to know is what is the most practical strong weapon (no need for special buffs or sets and can be used multiple times). I've been using pristine gerudo weapons and they seem to be the best so far but I'm not 100% sure on that.
I use mostly mighty zonaite swords with captain 4 horns, which gets 55-65 damage, and that's good for general use for me. For bosses, I use gerudo weapons with something like a Molduga jaw or a silver lyonel horn. I stop using it when it's about to break and repair with a roctorok. This stuff with single-use weapons doesn't suit me well. I do want to put a light dragon horn on a royal claymore and see how that works out
@@johnozzmond9728 I was just About wrapping up the last talus', hinoxes and froxes when I wrote that comment. I just made a bunch of gerudo weapons with lynel endings and called it a day. Did what you said as well, repairing them on the octoroks. Served me quite well.

Amazing!!! Thanks for the guide!!! A worthy like!!!
I thought Royal Guard pristine weapons were in the depths underneath the Gerudo Highlands, I didn't know there were other locations for them!
you can also find one on the island in the bottom right corner where the bokoblin collosium is with a little luck, just put down a save at the shrine and go to the spirit thing closest to it
everyone loves this wep so much but it's really only good for killing lynels. nobodys gonna wanna go through all this just to throw a wep once and ohko 1 monster. People should spotlight stuff that actually lasts for more than one hit more since those are the ones you're gonna more practically use. idc if a wep takes 3 hits to kill instead of 1 if im not doing this whole process every single time so perhaps the next one can showcase the zora longsword for something that lasts longer than 1 foe? Still this is a cool thing ofc
The biggest take away from this video is using puffshrooms to stop a Lynel so you can mount it
@@bkucenskidefinitely
@@bkucenskinot only that, I didn’t realize until watching this that the armored lynel is stunned when his armor breaks. Handy information.
I learned from other videos that if you fuse 2 treasure chests together the lynel will stop in front of it and make wind gusts instead of attacking you. I like this option more than the puff shrooms. ☑️
@@Lets_go_Duke see the puff shroom allows you to literally one hit kill the lynel. this does not since I don't think you can mount him while he endlessly gusts
you’ve really helped me understand this complex subject!
I just need to know what Glider Fabric that is
"Follow these easy 23 steps to make this weapon, which you will throw once and it's gone."
Have you even watched the video? He just explained that if you throw the weapon, it will double the weapon's damage, but that doesn't mean you will use this weapon for throwing. Basically, this weapon is used for hunting lynels. Next time you comment, use your brain, LMAO 🤣😂
Yeah builds like these are only useful for Lynels because everything breaks
@@Fermin-hw5pdyou could learn and master their (quite predictable) attack patterns and beat them in less time.
@@burger_kinghorn No not really if you use weapons like that, just shoot them once, get on them and it's over
@@Fermin-hw5pd I feel that cheapens any sense of skill.
How long does it take to do all that weapon crafting he did, including hunting for ingredients and save/reload times if you don't get the exact weapon or buff you need?

That said, I appreciate this and other gamers' scientific dedication to tinker, explore, experiment, share, and replicate their results. It's more honest than a lot of science out there.
Don't forget to duplicate the weapon before breaking it !
Great video! I had a question: is there another multiplier when a weapon is 1 hit away from breaking vs. 3 hits from breaking? Or is it the same, as long as it’s flashing red
The very last hit does double damage on all weapons. The last several hits do double only on the royal guard weapons.
@@ClashBluelight Thank you! How about the very last hit on royal guard weapons? Does that do double, double damage (i.e., x4)?
@@luigi9237 Yes. All multipliers stack as far as I'm aware. That's why we can reach such insane numbers lol.
I have another powerful weapon: Zora Longsword + Silver Lynel Saber Horn. Reason for the Zora long sword is because with zora weapon ability it will trigger the effect of adding attack power whilst being wet.
You don't have to break weapons to get the pristine versions to show up in the depths, you don't even need to have them _in your inventory_. You just need to pick them up and identify them, changing their flag from "???" to whatever the weapon is called. Counting them as discovered and allowing them to spawn.
The first royal guard claymore I found immediately had +10 attack on it without any octorocks
Wonderful video, keep up the good work!
I actually made three of the strongest weapons in the game so I got a pristine Royal Guard’s Claymore attack up +10 and fuse the silver Lynel saber horn and then broke it until it was badly damaged so I got a 208 damage weapon and then I did the same exact thing, but this time I fused a Molduga Jaw and then it was 160 damage weapon I did, and finally I did the same exact thing as the first one, but it was not pristine… bye!
Also, gibdonbones do 8 more damage than the molduga jaw, although gibdo bomes break in a few hits. If ur only using this weapon for throwing, the gibdo bones will give that little extra damage to achieve the true highest damage possible
Gibdo bones are one time use. I think they're better for arrowheads.
I really appreciate people like you that take the time to put up videos like this. This is a great video. I love this game it’s just amazing. The possibilities are endless. I will also not download any new version, so they don’t patch any of these things.
Thank you for supporting ❤️
Expectation - I’ll be out there slaying Lynel’s so hard they won’t know if they’re in botw or totk
Reality - probably die before I get a hit in
The puffshroom technique shown in the video should keep you safe.
if you just want to trow this weapon, then you should use gibdo bone, they get destroyed in one hit but they also deal more dmg than molduga jaw
if my calculations are right we can get this to be 961 damage with Gubdo's bones but will it survive the last 2 extra hits you did? because I want to farm Lynels and no matter what I lose before it dies by one hit
A pristine gerudo claymore may be a better fit for this job. They have the "strong fusion" effect which adds another x2 modifier to the fused item damage.
Strong fusion is slightly worse than royal guard bonus. Royal guard weapons have a higher base attack, and the damaged attribute doubles both the fuse material and weapon's damage output.
The gerudo claymore won’t do as much damage per hit, but you will get a lot more hits out of it. I agree that it’s a better “everyday” weapon than the royal guard claymore at breaking point.
@@therealshavenyakWell, if you want an everyday weapon them you want a pristine zora claymore. It doubles in attack when you're wet (which is easily exploitable with Sidon's Sage ability), which gives it all of the Gerudo claymore strengths and none of the drawbacks (lower durability, even when fused).
@@EnrocaLaRoca fair point, but I’d rather need a couple more swings to kill the enemy, than to have to keep chasing Sidon around begging him to make me wet.
Hmm, that did NOT come out the way I intended it to.
@@EnrocaLaRocaTHANK YOU 🙏 WOW Thats such amazing info, I had no idea & only knew about the Gerudo fuses being doubled.

Bone armor is the best tunic in the game for combat
Fierce deity attack bonus is kinda useless when you can just bananas 🍌
You're mostly right and slightly wrong. If you have a lot of attack up food or elixers then the Fierce Deity attack up might be pretty useless but it's just nice to have a non-resource spending way of getting the attack up effect that also doesn't run on a time limit, but generally if you feel like you're almost never gonna completely run out of attack up food / elixers then yes having the Fierce Deity armor for it's effect might seem a bit redundant when you could just be using some other armor set that's better suited for your needs.
That was a really neat video!

Unnecessary to reload a blood moon when theres like 25 octorocks around there. And you can get the other bone proficiency armor for free instead of buying it.
It depends on if you want to do labyrinths or if you want to do "stuff" with the great fairies!

Wow. There's so many of these I didn't know. I presume it would work with the Evil Spirit Armor (modelled after OoT Phantom Ganon) because that gives bone proficiency.
I didn't know puffshrooms work on lynels. I've only used them on low level common monsters (boko, moblin, lizal). Those work great with any eightfold blade base weapon (increase sneakstrikes).
How do the weapons in the Depths work? I usually only find traveller's type weapons. It makes no sense that all weapons in the surface decayed yet down in the Depths next to a patch of gloom a silhouette of a hylian soldier holds a non decayed weapon.
The depths weapons work like this, other than the travellers weapons, you have to break weapons such as the royal guards claymore for it to have a chance of spawning with the ghosts. Also, each ghost doesn’t have a chance of spawning any weapon, I think each one has three potential weapons that can spawn.
You don't need to glitch a blood moon, there's another stone octorok like 50 feet to your right when looking at the one in front of Momosik Shrine. Edit: also, if you're throwing the weapon, use a Gibdo bone, they add 40 dmg, and get the bone prof. bonus, but they break after one use (just like the sword when damaged to the x4 multiplier)
does it one shot ganon second phase when you throw it?
Ok this was a great video in and of itself, but I just learned you can ascend onto a battle talus... I am so bad at using the Arm Powers I am NOT creative enough to think of that stuff. Very cool!
How did you manage to hit the silver Lynel 6 times on its back? I thought the max amount of hits you can perform on their back was 5?
There's a second octorock a short ways away from the shrine by the Goron rock roast restaurant, no need for a blood moon
I was wondering, the message pops up for quite a while
How many swings can you do before the final weapon breaks ??
What fabric are you using for your glider?
I was a bit scared I spent 60 quidd for a breath of the wild dlc but I’m happy to see that’s there is much more is tears of the kingdom and that it feels different
does the blood moon glitch work on the latest patch?
How did u get attack up modifiers on the rare weapons like hero sword, fierce deity, biggoron, and the gerudo champion weapon???? I tried using octoroks but they just spit the weapon back at me with out the animation or any status effect upgrade.
I have a video guide about that. Well, here is the link --> th-cam.com/video/BxHyHXDRcFo/w-d-xo.html
Can I fuse the weapon to the master sword if your on earlier updates?
Haha loved it, esp the walking off as they implode. 😅
This was really cool, interesting and relaxing
Yay, thank you!
@@gameislifer 👌
If anyone doesn't wanna waste rupees and materials on the Radiant Armor and upgrading it, just get the Evil Spirit set and that'll have the same set bonus when wearing the full set of armor.
The paraglider looks so cool btw
I never heard about the hidden x2 multiplier if the weapon is 1 hit away from breaking. That's awesome news!
This means every lynel is a 1 mount kill with the armor and x3 attack up food, which is way better than my 2 mount + some arrows in the face I did before.
There is no x2 multiplier if the weapon is 1 hit from breaking, per se. This is simply the critical hit multiplier that triggers when a weapon breaks. The game applies it on the weapon's last hit because it assumes the weapon will break on that hit. This is also the same bonus you get from throwing the weapon (the video is incorrect in saying it stacks to double a second time).
someone somewhere explain that to you in botw every last hit it’s double damage or in the case the master sword the least hit before running out of energy as well
Does the method of getting the claymore not work anymore? Or does it only work with that specific soldier? The ones I’m trying on never have different weapons
best weapon is the zora longsword, perhaps the second best is the knight's claymore third best is honestly a toss up between the royal halberd/royal broadsword, and the eightfold blade imo.
Travel medallions can make this process a lot shorter, if you're not already using them for good spots like Tarry Town for disassemble, or next to a rock ocotorok, or the diving point before demon king army.
Absolutely broken. Love it!
Attack Boost food effects don't stack with armor bonuses.
what paraglider fabric is that??
