I am a huge admirer of Asaf. He is so eloquent not only in his speech but in everything he does. In my opinion the music industry has turned into an auto-tuned, pitch perfected pile of junk. I find it near impossible to find musicians who are true to their craft. That are truly sincere and honest...Asaf is the exception. As the kids say he is THE GOAT. I guess I'll throw in there is also nothing in my mind sexier than human intelligence - need I say more? Beautiful human being who is making the world a better place through his art and mostly just being himself. Love you - I feel I have a friend in the world.
And I will further add to this discussion that I have lived in Silicon Valley now for 10 years. I moved here from Los Angeles, where I was surrounded by creative intelligence. Because the majority of the population are in technology. Most are one generation from the farm or factory, and they all had a very industrial education. Because of this, they have no culture and they do not value art or aesthetics of any kind. All they do is fill their million dollar homes with cheap furniture and they have empty walls. They eat they travel and they have destroyed in culture here in the Bay Area because of theirlinear interest.
Don’t be scared friend, it’s a painful addiction that grows like thorn bushes, protecting only itself to smother out natures surrounding, left alone to blossom into unshared beauty. Please continue creating beautiful music. ❤
It’s a very important topic. But first, we have to understand that creativity is not a novelty. It is a very valid and important form of intelligence. And what AI is doing and will further procure is the continuing dumming down of humanity. Creativity takes not only intelligence but problem-solving skills. When you simply type in some words into a computer and allow AI to do all the work. Well… Watch and see.
Reject A.I. in all shape or forms. So you know that you are not just communing with the same familiar spirits, evil spirits, devils and fallen angels described in the TORAH? I would highly recommend never, to have any communication with A.I.
Repeating nonsense that AI can’t create anything new because it’s based on existing works… People create in the exact same way! After years of observing the works of others, they develop their own style. Besides, it’s a human who operates AI and decides what the outcome will be. A human who has felt and suffered, as Asaf mentions in the film. A human who, thanks to AI, can now express their emotions, even without the technical skills to create music, and can now produce works better than those of “professional” musicians. AI is the democratization of art. We, ordinary people, no longer need to rely on "artists" to deliver creations - we can make them ourselves, perfectly tailored to our own preferences. And I think that is beautiful. “Professional artists” can say whatever they want. What’s done is done; they can’t turn back the clock. If they refuse to embrace this new reality, all they can do is sit and complain.
Instead of being offended by AI, smart musicians are already using tools like Suno to make their tracks outstanding. In the long run, AI will push music decades ahead, because what’s currently playing on the radio can already be created by anyone with good prompting skills and a decent ear. The role of a brilliant human musician will evolve into creating music that AI still isn’t capable of producing and that’s where the art of the future truly lies. So, instead of proudly claiming, “I don’t use AI to make music,” Mr. Asaf Avidan, maybe it’s time to give it a try. Spend a few evenings experimenting, and you could create the most brilliant album of your life made entirely of hits, because unlike the rest of us, you already have decades of experience and talent to take it to the next level.
Hmm, some nice thoughts... BUT what speaks against growing and developing by gaining skills ? I will always prefer the 'real' musician or 'real ' artist (no matter which genre) and I know why 😊
I feel the same way. I've never liked the popular narrative that AI is "stealing" art, or any other way the anti-AI crowd likes to spin it, because that line of thinking is just hilariously naive. Arists often get inspiration from other artists- is that stealing? Artists often learn from other artists- it even used to be common for new painters to study directly under accomplished ones, and copy their master's works; how is that okay, but AI is somehow bad and scary for being able to do the exact same thing? I think a lot of it is just ego. Humans have always had this problem of insisting we're somehow better than every other animal, and we've been desperately trying to justify this egotism for as long as we've existed. As technology advances, as Asaf said, we're losing ground in that struggle. I'm in the minority of people who think this is a good thing. Humans aren't special. We just exist; and there's nothing wrong with our existence. This species needs to kill its ego- it's way past time that happened. AI might finally be the thing that's doing that.
@amarastarkbaum6066 Developing skills takes time, energy, and often money. Not everyone can afford lessons, and some crafts require tools and materials like knitting, weaving, or painting. Some people don't have the energy to practice regularly, especially those with chronic fatigue. People still want to make art to express themselves, because we are inherently creative as a species. AI finally makes that possible.

I'd love it if you and @RenMakesMusic could collaborate. I think you'd have a lot to talk about.
I totally agree and mentioned it to him and Ren in comments already
And write and perform as duo
Kao da je Ren već proučavao Asafa.

Not that bad is happening. AI is quite good tool to differ craft from art.
