1. HIMBA VILLAGE
ADDRESS: Kamanjab, Namibia
🐑WHOLE SHEEP: Cut open sheep, read it and then chop the sheep into pieces. Boil water then add the meat and allow it to cook
🇳🇦MOPANE WORMS: Pick them from the tree. Lay them out to dry for 2 days. Boil water and add oil, salt and the mopane worms. Serve when ready.
🇳🇦PAP: Boil water, add salt and cooking oil. Add porridge (cornflour) and mix for about 40 minutes.

They also out in the sun all day and out in nature. UV is really good for acne. Nature reduces stress. Also eating less processed food fresh from the source helps.

For those who don't know.
They cover themselves with ojitze (the butter mixed with powdered ochre clay) because water is rarely available for bathing in a desert.
The covering acts as a sunscreen, moisturizes the skin, prevents certain blemishes from forming and hides the ones that do form but most importantly; whenever it gets dirty it sticks to the dirt and then falls off your body, so you can stay clean without wasting water.

I often think of much of Namibia as arid and depopulated. But the Himba live there and really have their environment figured out. It's great to see them happy and thriving.
