ian lavaty Hey Ian, keep on playing. It's one of the best things you can do. rock on. I do love the Midtown. It's easy t play and it's got great tone and balance. Praise Gibson. Keep on pickin' man !
pmontgo1 thank you for the kind words. I still have a lot to work on. it's really all about the tones I'm getting from the Gibson Midtown Custom and my Egnater Tweaker amp. thanks again. rock.
HI Doug, I finally read this post. haha. well, 2 years ago. sorry that it took so long to respond. rock on and thank you for taking the time to write. peace.
Very nice video! I've been playing 335's for several years. Am very impressed with the sound of this guitar. But then again 90% of the sound is your playing. Awesome
Hello 45acpauto, Thank you for the kind words. I do love the Midtown. A perfect guitar for those that want a 335 but not the 335 price. haha. I really love 335's. They have a sound that has been on a ton of hit records around the world. The Midtown is very cool and I like the weight and balance. The burst-bucker pickups are great. They are low output pickups and feel good through a cranked amp. Overall, the best thing in the world is to keep on picking man. Play your guitar every chance you get. It's one of the purest and most enjoyable things to do. ROCK ON! Peace.
The midrange has a growl a bark and a BITE! I bought one and was checking out youtube for reviews. After hearing you play , I know I made the right choice. I paid $1600 for a mint condition 2013.
+zororosario Hey Zoro you got a great instrument. I love mine. It does have a cool bite to it. I love the fact that the body has a block in the middle to prevent unwanted feedback. but, at the same time you get the acoustic feel following from the body. Keep on pickin' !! rock on.
I'm glad you posted the price. I actually bought mine new in 2012 for $1,500 out the door. I'm noticing the pricing going up on this guitar. I'm seeing used fetching $2,000. Turning out to be a good investment. I love mine so I don't have any plans on selling it, but its good to know the value is increasing not decreasing.
+2000om28v hahaha. yeah, the thumb is very handy for getting those notes on the 5th and 6th string when the other fingers are busy. thank you for the kind words. the best thing for every one to do is to play play play your instruments. rock on.
+Eileen Wright Hi Eileen. I hope that you too have the gift of music in your life. I love to play and I don't know what I'd be doing if I didn't have music in my life. This guitar happens to be a joy to play. I love the sound and the feel of the instrument. Keep rocking and keep a tune in your heart at all times. rock on.
WOW! Not only does that guitar sound great but that playing is NICE! Glad we somehow met on here, your playing is inspirational! Thank you for this video! I go to Raleigh tomorrow for a certification test for my job but I'll be back Friday, I may try to figure out another video to get with the CODE this weekend. I have a pretty good tone to roll back guitar volume for clean and roll up for a mean crunch right now on the plexi preamp. Keep up the good work, I'm a fan of your playing and attitude.
I haven't been saving presets yet, I've just been exploring the amp this whole time. I tried to save a preset last night at the end of my jam and did it wrong somehow. I'm about to head to Raleigh, I stay the night there and take my exam in the morning and will be back tomorrow evening.I'll work on it and email you my results. It goes into mute mode when you turn on the tuner feature though so try pushing the "exit/save" button. A quick one push on that button is how you exit out of a mode, your amp may go into mute after a save. Like I said I'll be back tomorrow and I'll help as much as I can, hopefully we can get it figured out.
Hey Slugzz, I returned the amp to sweetwater. no problem. i got the Marshall dsl 15 c instead. Too bad the software was faulty. I really hated the HELLEN KELLER act the amp went into. here's my facebook info facebook.com/zahmbee
Man that sucks you had problems with your CODE and had to return it. I really dig the thing, I'll mess with saving presets on mine now that I'm back and let you know how it goes.
Hey Antonio, I don't have a tab for my playing but there's probably a few guys that do have info about playing this song. I got the guitar from Zzounds Music for around $1500. I absolutely love it. The semi hollow body is the real deal for tone. Each guitar has it's own character and you have to pick one up to see how it fits what you want to do. rock on man.
That's a great video I like the sound of the les Paul for me the ideal Paul would be a 70s artisan with the 3 humbuckers to me it sounds a lot like the black beauty but the inlays and the headstock logos are more classy
ian lavaty Yeah, the cosmetics are cool on the Midtown. Hey, a 70's Artisan with 3 hum buckers would be a great guitar to have. I always wanted another Les Paul Deluxe, with the small hum buckers. They reissued it about 8 years ago but it was out of my price range at the time. I think I like just about everything. haha. rock on.
yes Paul, burstbuckers. They are actually a less powerful pickup. The name is deceiving. They don't have a lot of output. That's great because they sound great with an overdriven amp. I love the Midtown Classic guitar too. It's not fancy like a ES 339 or 335 but it gives me a semi hollow body zing that's affordable. ha. Rock and roll hootchie koo my brother. PEACE.
+Antonio Hernández Hi Antonio, I got a great deal on the Midtown when they came out. Zzounds let them go for a breakneck price. I don't want to actually post the price but I do think that they can be had for a good price right now. They are such great sounding guitars. I love the Gibson products. The best thing is to keep an eye open for a few x mas sales now and after the holidays. You'll be happy if you decide to get one. rock on.
ian lavaty Hi Ian. I am playing through an Egnater 40 watt Tweaker amp. I'm running the eq at 75% treble - 50% mid and 50% bass. channel 1 at 25% with the gain for that channel at 60%. if that helps. The Tweaker is really a cool amp. the Gibson Midtown has burst buster 1 and 2 pickups. I think i was on the bridge pickup. I used a little delay from the Studio One software at mix down. I also used an old Oktava MK219 mic. sooo....I don't know if any of that makes sense. The best thing to do is to pick up your guitar and play! it's the best thing we all can do. so, rock on!
Okay yeah I have the tweaker 40 and run it through a Marshall mg 412 cab and my settings are the egnater blues settings and I have found its the best so far for most zeppelin songs that a really nice guitar great playing
+Antonio Hernández Hi Antonio. I do not have the tab for this tune but I suggest you try to do your own vibe when the backing tracks. The zep tracks are on you tube and if you search a little you'll find them. rock on!
Great playing, but I've been playing 50 years and like wood. I'll take an Epi with a rosewood fingerboard over a Gibson with a fingerboard made of recycled paper and synthetic resin any day. Richlite. Bleh.
Glen Rappold Hi Glen, thanks for the kind words about my playing. I also prefer wood guitars too but this situation is definitely different. I like the idea of american made products, especially guitars. Gibson people are home grown and part of a history that has influenced people around the world. I especially like seeing some of the old rock and roll videos that feature the Kalamazoo made Gibson guitars. It's a heritage that will last the test of time. I am totally slanted one way about Gibson Guitars since I grew up in Kalamazoo only 4 blocks away from the factory. The main thing is to find and play the instruments that make you happy. always keep playing my friend.
Probably one of the best covers I've heard and that guitar is amazing
ian lavaty Hey Ian, keep on playing. It's one of the best things you can do. rock on. I do love the Midtown. It's easy t play and it's got great tone and balance. Praise Gibson. Keep on pickin' man !
Wonderful playing, just beautiful!
pmontgo1 thank you for the kind words. I still have a lot to work on. it's really all about the tones I'm getting from the Gibson Midtown Custom and my Egnater Tweaker amp. thanks again. rock.

I'm getting GAS
