The answer is yes...DO IT! It comes down to the fact that you can quite easily replace all other cars in your collection. But a solid red CGT doesnt come across the radar very often. Whats the worst outcome and what would you stand to lose? Love the channel and would like to see you try and properly setup Gen 2 Viper. From watching your vids it seems as you would really dig a Gen 2. They make these modern RS cars seem soft, quiet and well mannered. They will also outperform most all of the modern P cars with little setup. Bonus is a legendary shape that has near unrivaled levels of road presence.
Unfortunately CGT’s are mostly for Porsche collectors. For example, look at the difference in price between a car with 2k miles and one with 5k miles, there is several hundred thousand dollars in difference so putting miles on one is crazy expensive. Then there is the crazy service …..between clutch replacements, annual maintenance, repair costs (rear diffuser is $29k and easily damaged) they are insanely expensive to keep, not just to buy. I’ve been lucky enough to be in one and it’s obviously an amazing car but the amazing howl you hear sounds 90% better from the outside as the majority of what you hear inside is just road noise/gear whine….. basically opposite of the GT4 RS.
The hard part about the P1 is that, per Tavarish, lots of them are starting to show battery failures and mclaren is offering speedtail battery replacements at 150k at a 2 year wait time. I think you’ll get more smiles per mile out of the GT3RS than a CGT. Can’t go wrong though honestly, it’s really just about what type of maintenance you wanna sign up for.
That’s what my buddy said. Too much $ to maintain. I was told multiple six figure bills in the last few years just to keep it running. 3RS is goat shit and it doesn’t break. CGT would be awesome but so much damn money.
I say make the return of the 765 before the CGT. CGT is amazing but less to do with it in my opinion. Just saw a 765 on the road and it will forever be one of my favorite cars of all time.I’d even say a 992 3RS before cgt. 4RS sounds crazy by the way!
Such a tough position. CGT is my #1 dream car but the 997.2 GT3RS is #2 then you add the GT4 RS and the 458 its an impossible decision. Not sure you can go wrong either way.
I can help you save alot of $$$ by picking up an early Viper and getting it properly sorted, tires, bushings, short shifter etc. If you are looking for an "experience" then you havent lived until you have owned one. Im on my 8th Viper so obviously Im a Koolaid drinker. Ive also had P cars and F cars and others but nothing stood up to Gen 2 Viper for chassis, steering, visceral driving, capability, looks, reliability when driven hard. I cant get enough of mine and truly believe these cars were created for real drivers who want purity and capability over all. Most are too soft for them so they just say they are bad cars. They never understood them in the first place because they prioritize other things over the experience. Try one man I think you might be pleasantly surprised.
@@MiamiMiles I look forward to seeing you join the Viper community. My personal opinion is that starting Gen 3 the cars continued to be softened and made more accessibke for the general public. The Gen 2 cars have the perfect balance of purity of purpose while still being comfortably streetable. The Gen 5 seating position is too high along with many other things that I didnt enjoy. The character of Gen5 Viper could have other spirts car manufacturers badges but the Gen 2 cars could only be Viper.
@@Mike-qq8iy I owned a Gen5 for around a year putting around 12k miles on. I found the Gen5 to be more accessible and much nicer generally but lacking the true Viper character as I know it. The seating position is too high, the engine lacks the monstrous low end torque of the Gen 2 but screams up top. It really depends on what type of driver you are and what level of car insanity your sitting at. Early cars have many shortcomings mainly the interior. However the chassis and steering in Gen 2 cannot be topped. The car is so responsive at all touch points Ive found it hard to be topped for pure driving purpose. The cars are a challenge to drive hard and very capable in the right hands. Dont believe anything you hear just buy one and find out yourself. You wont be disappointed if you want a true drivers car.
CGT everyday. The P1 is too stiff, too low, too much racecar to enjoy on the streets. Maintenance and reliability aside (P1 loses here as well), the CGT is a one of a kind and will never be replicated. F1derived V10 manual and still the best Porsche ever made. The P1 is great, but McLaren has made how many more hybrid turbo v8 automatic cars since? It's just another McLaren and the market will prove out that the big winner in the comparison will be the CGT that's a $3M+ car in 10 years.
I agree about some points here. Had a 765 spider and nothing I’ve had since compares. But to your point, the 765 does 99% of what the P1 does without the complexity
Don’t EVER get rid of the GT3 RS

Damn bro…. You’re pulling at my heart strings
Would you actually do the Sharkwerks upgrade? Please do, that would be amazing to see!
Yes I’m gonna do it at some point
Enjoyed the content. Upload more often
Will do
The RS looks sweet. Where can you drive and enjoy that car in south Florida?
Nowhere. Long straight highways with traffic lol
Hey bro can I suggest the use of chapters in your content. May help people find the content they may want later in the video.
Will do man
@@MiamiMiles it helps - what are you asking for on the GT3 Touring?

I agree my bro. It’s too difficult of a choice to make

What’s your opinion of the gen 5 viper?
Thinking about getting rid of my gt4 for one
You peaked my interest, as a current multiple p car and f car owner.
I almost bought an 08 ACR. It’s my favorite looking viper. I will buy one in the next few months for sure. Gen 2 is awesome, but that ACR 😅

As much as I love the 3 and 4rs, they just don’t compare to this thing. CGT is THE car.
It’s amazing. I just can imagine a garage with a CGT and a Corolla cuz I’m broke 🤣
Nice red ❤

This could make a sense... :-o
i can appreciate the CGT but bro no porsche will ever fill the shoes of the 997.2 and im sure you know it.
I don’t disagree.

don't you dare.

CGT is #1
But most won't drive the CGT often bc of the value, so you're gonna need another porsche. ;)
Then I can’t do it because the remaining budget after CGT is enough to buy a Corolla, Sentra or Cruz 🤣
@MiamiMiles More driving is more fun. Better to be Porsche diversified anyway than everything riding on the CGT. ;)
Tough choice. 3 is better than one.
All 4 would have to go 😅 so you might be right
