Only thing I wish sega did more would be more mid fight qte's against main bosses. If I am not mistaken, only the 1st Nishitani boss fight has one in the middle of the fight and then last boss qte is at the very end of the fight itself
Tsuruno has an action sequence, 2nd nishitani also has a qte, shishido doesn't have mid fight qtes but he does have action sequences and a qte at the end

@@izwaspayne The main difference between 6 and this is that the Tojo and the Omi are actually disbanded now. Plus, the kids aren't kids anymore and they have careers to stand on their own. And none of them truly believes that he's dead. If he retires after a final mission of some sort, on his current state of health... There's no reason to stay away from them anymore, honestly. The whole foundation of this series since Y1 are Kiryu and his unconventional father bond with Haruka. Overcoming shit together to live at peace some day. Having him retire with her and his grandson is a callback to the very beginning of the series and imo is the best ending he can get. Some might differ, and it's okay. Is just how I felt playing during the whole series (besides Y7 that focuses on Ichiban and the Judgement games, but you get the point). However, if RGG handles his ending from another angle and it is still satisfactory and well written, I'll have no complains. Worst case scenario... He still shows in Y9 as a major character to milk him as long as they can. I mean, we were teased with Y6 already and Ichiban is a solid protagonist for the new outcome of the series. So, whatever happens, I want Y8 to be his final game. Idk if you agree with me on this regard.
Watching so many people missing out on the glorious power of perfect dodge counter in Agent style EH makes me realize RGG could've done a better job on the tutorial, or implemented a movelist in the main menu. Kiryu can do a freaking armbar with perfect dodge + grab now, and since it's a default move they don't tell you how to do it even in the Help menu.
This is definitely gonna go down as one of the better final bosses in the series tbh. Everything about it was perfect. Only complaint was where Kiryu used the tether. I feel this fight should be locked into Yakuza style only lmao.
Personally i found the fight more enjoyable with agent style when i played during the yellow heat actions i was able to bob and weave the attacks under and felt like i was performing my own action sequences. I played on professional as well probably my second favorite of the series next to Ryuji Goda
It also looks much better than I thought. I said this during the stream, but seeing all these guys on screen being whipped around with Agent style, and all the effects in the arena with the AI partners, I couldn't help but think about how amazing a Dead Souls 2 would be with how much the games have improved with combat and technology. Co-op in that game would also be amazing, because I feel like that game has to be huge with the number of new cast since Yakuza 4 that could be utilized. There's even big new cities to set it in like Honolulu and Yokohama.
[spoiler warning, ending related] i know probably this is already obvious to a lot of people, but i just want to making sure... . . . . . . . . . so Hanawa is (99%) really Morinaga? - he awares of Kiryu's previous fake name - before becoming Daidoji member, he said he already had opportunity to know kiryu - "You and I aren't too different" - and lastly, he have the same VA with Morinaga (edit) - their head/face shape are also (85%) look similar (try checking them side by side) =============================== (i know this is weird to suddenly talk about it here) in Ishin Kiwami/Remaster, from all of Shinsengumi's captains, they kept Morinaga and didn't change the character like most of the other Shinsengumi captains from the original. And Morinaga was a character that probably forgotten by a lot of people because of his "weird" off-screen death in Y5, BUT even with that, RGG still kept him as a captain in Ishin Kiwami. so with this^ i think RGG actually already kinda giving us a hint since Ishin Kiwami, that Morinaga is still going to be a relevant character for RGG's games in the near future (=>like Hanawa, IF the theories are true) *sorry for the mucho texto

The rubber bullets are stupid, because the guy shooting him didn't even realize he wasn't shooting anybody himself. It would only be the same if Shishido was too stupid to realize he wasn't really stabbing Nishitani. But since only Kiryu wasn't in on it and he couldn't see shit it's not the same at all. I'm just happy this game fixed the worst fight in 7. The whole time i was playing the Omi fight in that game I just remember how disappointing it was in the turn based format. That was the only time I didn't like the style of 7 and now 8 plans to be a mix of both styles. Im so hyped for Infinite Wealth.

Also is it just me or the Daidoji boss looks a lot like patriarch Madarame from Y5? At the end of 5 Madarame couldn't stand up on his own anymore and he was getting help from a goon to stay on his feet at the ending cutscene where Kanai finally admits defeat. The VAs are different but the ingame characters look extremely similar
