Judy Garland & Liza Minnelli "Alice Blue Gown" - remastered version

July 20, 2015: Newly remastered version of Judy Garland's rendition of "Alice Blue Gown" by John Haley has replaced the version that originally accompanied this video.
The pitch has been corrected, making this the premiere release of the song as it was performed by Judy in 1940 on "The Pepsodent Show with Bob Hope."
All previous versions of the song, including LP/CD releases and postings on TH-cam, have been presented at the wrong pitch.

Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli perform the same song, decades apart. Notice how the approach and arrangements are very similar. Makes one wonder if Liza didn't learn this particular version from Judy while she was growing up?

I adore this! Especially remastered...love how Judy loved to swing it! And Boy could she! Meanwhile pool little Judy was working 24/7 at MGM and dragged out to Radio broadcasts! Love Liza...and hell yes Mama taught Liza all her songs.

My dad was born in 1916. In the 30s, he was clarinetist and lead singer in a local dance band. His most requested number? In my sweet little Alice blue gown. He was a big strong guy. The song was simply that popular and he sang it so prettily. I know because he used to sing it to me when I was a kid in the 50s and 60s. So, this is nice, but I hear my dad when I think of this song, or I hear this song sometimes when I think of my dad.
