I'm a little confused. You dropped in Rapid City, then you're going to Billings, then back to Williston, and then almost all the way across North Dakota to Minot, and thennnn, back to Montanta. Couldn't that load have been dropped in sequence? Whose doing your load planning.
the only mistake i ever made on a load was carrying too many totes of sugar into Calif. each tote weighed @2500 lbs. think i was carrying 4 or 5, anyway i was too heavy and Calif is very strict on its Bridge Laws, no tolerance. ended up spending the night at the scale in El Cajon Pass. had to wait for another driver to come and help unload 1 tote into his trailer, go back around re-scale before 3 pm. i was also late for delivery. taught me a lesson to always scale the load no matter how far you have to go to scale it, before departing for delivery point.
Glad you caught that when you did, Dan. By the way Spearfish is in South Dakota, not Wyoming. I live there. However, the place you said you have loaded out of is the Bentonite plant which is on Wyoming.
A friend of mine once delivered a load of timber to a hardware place on the wrong side of the street Had to reload and deliver across the road , 🙄 , don’t beat urself up Dan you realised and fix the mistake , as we say in Ireland power on 👍
I made a mistake that really bugged me one day. I mentioned it to the boss's father. He said, "You know who are the only people that make mistakes?" I replied back "no" He said, "people who work!"
I just passed you yesterday bud. I came up from Alabama to where my first of 3 drops is in Lewiston Idaho tomorrow morning. Ya we all make mistakes man don't sweat it. Ill see if I can save you from another one if it's not too late. Don't let that GPS send you down 212 to spearfish. Don't listen to it. There's nothing but 2 lane dead cell coverage out there. Safe travels man
Don't feel bad we have all did it I hold cars for 35 years Got to a dealer one time realized I'd left my last drop the wrong car They should have caught up but still my fault Had to turn around and go back Safe travels
Good evening Dan, we all make a mistake sometimes. I have a suggestion for you on your issue of your “dunnage” slipping on your trailer when you haul equipment like those tar machines and the gate you transported several weeks ago. You could drill a hole through both ends of your 4X4 dunnage and use an eye bolt and an eye nut with washers on both ends of the 4X4 dunnage and then use small 1” ratchet binders to ratchet down the dunnage to the trailer. 2 eye bolts, 2 eye nuts, 4 washers and 4-1-inch wraps per piece of dunnage ratcheted down to the trailer and the would never move .Not a trucker, retired electrical utilities designer but that is the way I would try to fix that issue you have sometime. Also that would eliminate nailing or screwing into the wood slat on your new Dorsey trailer. Have a safe trip.
Use to run those roads all the time. Hauled a lot of that bentonite drilling mud outta that plant. Peaceful part of the country to drive. Safe travels. Enjoy the videos
Nice to see you out here in my country for a change. Just a FYI try not to be out here the last part of July and first part of August, you'll hate motorcycles if you do😉
Cabotage rules do not allow a Canadian truck to pick up freight in the US and deliver it to another location in the US. I had one instance where the forklift driver took the wrong stack of garage door rails off my trailer and I didn't check on him. At the next delivery the fork lift driver noticed the rails were not for them and I had to pay for a hotshot truck to pick up each set of rails and exchange them between the two locations. Lucky for me the two locations were roughly 50 miles from each other but it still cost me $550 and I learned to always check what's coming off the trailer and never trust anyone else.
Good video. A person I know runs hot all over doing a bunch of stops daily and it’s happened to him what he started doing was using a marks a lot and writes on the freight some area to visualize where it comes off the trailer just my two cents
Good ole us85 to highway 212!! The last time I was on 212 was 2009, and they were working on it pretty heavily widening it out. I’m sure it’s a great road now.
