Funny you mentioned that Lincoln County is Billy the Kid country in New Mexico. I was just watching Young Guns II yesterday...one of my favorite movies. 🤠
Dan can u plzzz show us where, what u eat, how eat on in the truck or at Tstops.. How u do breakfast, lunch, dinner??. 17:33 You never show us... we want to see how what u do to keep healthy eating ontheroad working so much all the time. Great vids Dan Bailey!
Come to Michigan! Where everything inside your truck will need to be reorganized when you leave. Lol. I live in Michigan, coming home or going back out on the road my truck gets rearranged. Lol.
@@scottyrose00 Same with 94 crossing into Michigan from Indiana or Michigan into Indiana. Horrible! Thought Gretchen was gonna fix the roads? That was part of her whole campaign thing to get elected governor. "And fix the damn roads" she said. Lol. What a joke. No I did not vote for her, but every crappy Michigan road I'm on... "when ya gonna fix the damn roads Gretchen? " lol
I believe he said 22 bags at 2,000 lbs that's 44,000 lbs load. He might have said 48,000 total and then estimated the per bag weight. Regardless still a light tractor and aluminum Dorsey trailer. If I was paying attention. Yes I'm nit pickin..😁
Hey Dan thanks again for all the video production. The new transmission was needed and in no time you will be in full syncretization with the truck. I appreciate the service you provide for the nation. In a future episode we will find out the final destination of the earth product. Safe travels Dan
The town is pronounced care-ee-zozo. Just behind that new Allsups truck stops a guy has a little bbq stand called “ZZQ” best breakfast burrito in the area and he has really good brisket and pork. I park at the allsups and walk over to get food from there often
Spent most of the eighties stationed at Holloman Airplane Patch. Had a brother-in-law who lived in Socorro, and 54 to 380 to I-25 was the way to go. Lunchtime stop was always the Owl Bar in San Antonio, at the intersection of 380 and Old 85 (MY OPINION: best damn hamburgers, EVER!). Evening time, little restaurant on the southeast corner of 54 and 380 (Your point-of-view from this vid near right corner, eatery just out of frame), damn good country fried steak. Carrizozo got it's start as a railroad town. It was a division and crew-change point as well as a junction of a line up to Capitan. Didn't take long for the town to become the supply point for the ranches and mines in the upper Tularosa Valley. It's existence was solidified when the County Seat was moved from Lincoln, first to Capitan, then to Carrizozo. Hope that answers your question.
Hey Dan love your videos. We left Colorado Springs this morning and just pulled into Effingham on the way to NJ. I played your video and there you are heading to Effingham tomorrow for an oil change!
A rebuilt transmission has a case rebuilt too. All holes are rebored and sleeved with new bored hole for bearing that are back on factory specs. Lots of rebuilder do no do this...they just slap new parts in worn cases. I use Power Transmission, inc of Duluth MN who fully does a popper rebuild job by remanufacturing the cases too.
I used to run U.S. 54 up through New Mexico, lovely part of the country, thanks for the memory... Keep churning out the videos, love your channel, Be safe.
Hey Dan, I was having the same issues with my cross over on fuel tanks, it turned out to be the venting tubes. They were all plugged up. Changed those and works great again. I guess it needs that venting. This video is pretty old Sonia sure you’ve sorted it out already. Thank you for taking the time to make these great videos. I know there’s never enough time in the day as a long haul driver. Have a great day and be safe out there sir. Jay
Intro pic of truck at night, looking good ! Boy those be some lonely ole roads out west. Kinda like driving thru Iowa, all ya see is corn, corn, corn, corn corn aaaaaaand more corn
If your not evenly pulling fuel out of both tanks. You have vent issues if it just feeding to the driverside tank. It's not venting properly and needs to be check. This is an easy check leave the fuel cap loose and see when driving
Love your channel content,And that good ole Pete and that Dorsey trailer.Very informational channel for being a flatbed trucker.Glad too see that new tranny in her."Like a brand new Pete ".😁👍
It's Carr i zozo, and be careful drive the speed limit. I had a city cop bust me just at the end o f the trees on your right for 10 over a few years ago. The four winds has a decent breakfast. Carrizozo was the main railroad stop for Lincoln county. State really greens up with a little rain doesn't it!
Dan the Peterbilt diverter valve under the bunk gets clocked with the return line guts rotting away happened to me a few times either pull it apart or buy a new one
Your crossover line between your tanks must be plugged. Maybe the line looks fine on the outside but has collapsed on the inside? Old hoses can do that. Might be worth it to replace it or at least see if you can blow air through it. Might even be only partially blocked but an air test would tell you. I enjoy watching your videos Dan. Keep on truckin’!
Dan had the same problem on my 03 pete. What I did was I replaced all of the fuel lines, and put in a new fuel T. Solved my problem. Did it last fall and have had no problems. You may have a flapper in one of the lines or in your fuel T.
Great windshield time great video, a suggestion may want to take a look at the valve where the fuel lines come together sometimes the valve gets trash in it cause the fuel to dump in the right side, safe travels
I run AMZOIL. never change oil until 450,000 miles or so. Change filters every 15,000 miles and add make up oil as needed. Do oil testing. Engine runs cooler that regular oil or mixed oils. Have a Amzoil Bypass oil system that is better than the factory set up. Use engine fuel heaters and Arctic fox heated fuel pickup tubes.
Good to see you back Dan , new clutch& re .gearbox should be feeling a little more positive make the job a bit easier, those "bulka" bags good freight "aye" you & baily stay safe Dan "RB" "downunder"
I wish that I could wax more poetic about the back roads of New Mexico. I do them on my frequent trips between Arizona and the Midwest and they are the worst part of trips. Long drives with limited services and mediocre hotels make it unpleasant. Increasingly, I am making more of my trips through West Texas and then heading north
On your tank leveling issue; The return lines need to be exactly the same length. If one is shorter than the other, the return fuel will follow the path of least resistance, the shorter line. You may have already checked this, but just a thought. Take care.
18 speeds are needed for newer engines that are governed at lower maximum rpms. Older engine that have a higher maximum rpm do not need to split lower gears steps. 18 speeds were designed to solve a shifting problem pulling out of a pit/ of going up a hill caused. I set my governor at 2450 rpms for bulling off road loads, but I cruise at 1350-1400 to save fuel. Higher rpm are ok if under load. It is a common setting for logger trucks by O/o . Also rear axles are wider apart, called a Canadian Spread, so stumps do not hang you up by being getting stuck between the axles tires. Also make crawling between axles possible for brakes and grease chores.
great vid Dan... u
ultimate Trucking office view 16:15 just you, road blue sky, puffy clouds... beautiful nice day...

You seem pretty relaxed after your break Dan, good to see.
Pretty country side.. be safe..
Bailey your ever faithful companion! :)
Bailey needs a playmate, like a stuffed bear, or some other animal, that squeaks!...😁👍
hope you enjoyed home time glad to see your videos againg thanks
i put an old fashioned crossover line under my tanks to eliminate the leveling problem , i had the exact same issue
Bailey cracks me up. Strong personality. Dog gonna dog.
Hopefully you remembered to shut the gate before you left home! Lol Teresa would have been yelling at you over the phone! 😂🐴🐴🐴

Bailey is looking around like she’s trying to who Dan is talking to. So cute when she puts her paw on Dan’s arm.
The T block the valves go to under the sleeper are designed to pull fuel from The tank of least resistance. If a line sucks air it screws it all up.
Here is a guy who just gets up and goes to work every day, I am not sure the generation coming through has the same work ethic . Good work Dan

Super great video Thank you
KEEP ON TRUCKIN AND keep it between the ditches 👍🚛🇺🇲
Had an old timer o/o tell me that stick and peddles were directly connected to his billfold. No ram jamming !
Great 🚚

Your sweet dog looks like a fox. A very handsome and friendly dog/fox. : ) Regards from Sweden.
Nice one Dan
Willard Trans are pretty reliable :)
My 05 pete was doing that, changed crossover valve and it went back to normal
Did that also we found out the generator they mounted on this truck caused it also
You were my inspiration to be trucker. I love it..still watching your videos..
Do a search on TH-cam on why your tanks aren’t leveling out bet u find out what the problem is thanks for your video Dan
Weller reman. Probably an Eaton Fuller transmission
Dan you have to fix that dented shiny headlight trim on the passenger side. Its driving me crazy! 😁
Just about to turn off computer, But Dan is always 3 hrs behind east coast time! Gotta watch before sleepy time!

Better make sure the grease fitting for the throw out bearing is set up right
You sound refreshed and happy.
Your problem is the fuel crossover on top of the transmission, there is a valve that has 4 lines in and 4 lines out
It would have been the perfect time to change it when the transmission was changed.
Hey Dan I’m looking to get two aluminum giants specked the same as yours for me and my dad does Dorsey do in house financing
Stay safe out there Dan.👍👍
