Taming the Beast
Fearing a dawn's next move,
will I dare, do I tread
the path that lies beyond
my dreams, not lost,
but there, in limbo;
not the same, but better
floating high they are,
waiting, testing, wanting,
to be caught red-handed.
like a heart bursting, overflowing,
with new-found joy and love,
understanding, living, breathing.
firmly grasped, accepted,
respected, balanced peace,
taming the beast within
only to let it go free
to wander, roam and feel
soul, body, and heart
anew.
