Rails are a non spawnable block from what I know. Seems like there may be just one or two blocks that are not quite spawn proofed underneath the farm. Cave looks great! Love the endless darkness
Really cool to see the trial chamber! I've not seen them in action really before. What are your thoughts on them? Are they fun and stimulating, do they reward decently enough to actually spend time doing? I saw you were getting a lot of potatoes, but I'm not sure if that's just the way you edited this. Also love the cave/mineshaft, I think the black concrete and glass combo works great, good idea! Keep up the good work, sad to hear that videos won't be weekly soon :(.
@@_Apoll0 I think they’re a REALLY great addition to the game. Glad that their difficulty can be manipulated and that the loot gets better on harder difficulties. I think that was a really nice touch on Mojang’s part. I definitely got super lucky this time around (and I haven’t been as lucky since), but the trial chambers are super fun, so I’m not all too concerned about getting potatoes lol. And thank you! I’m glad it worked out the way it did lol And I know 😢😢 it’s just gotta be this way for my sanity
Yooo, the abyss effect you did with the iron farm was awesome! Mood lighting like that is hard to pull off, with mob spawns being a threat. Since you already had to spawn-proof the room, that's not a worry. Haha, did you plan that? Anyways, with the wall on the left side of the room, maybe like a wall indent of an iron golem face? Could even make a shrine if you wanted to go all out lol. And I wanted to suggest an idea about a spawn-proofing alternative to the rails. What about unlit campfires? They have an old, rickety mineshaft look. Unfortunately, putting them on the stairs leading into the mine won't look as good, so it'd just have to be on the bottom level. I think I might make another cave scene and put in a little pond for my axolotl, but I like that idea! AMAZING IDEA! (Their question was about managing time, but there’s some advice in there too) Good question lol! I’m on my summer break rn, so the vast majority of the series has been made while on break, but I’ve still kept myself just as busy as I was/would be in college with work and other things. I will say, I’ve been doing TH-cam for like 10 years, really got into film in high school, and am now going to college for film. So, compared to people who are just starting out, I think it’s a little bit easier for me to make videos. I have practice with creating stories with a consistent through line, practice acting and public speaking, and practice with editing. And now that I’m over 10 episodes in, I have some practice with making weekly Minecraft content, which makes creating everything wayy easier. With all that being said, I do think it’s pretty easy to make weekly Minecraft content, so long as you have a couple hours to record and you remember to not dwell on the quality of the video. Episode 9, for example, is my favorite Surviving with Shoeler episode, mainly because of the comedic bits that I added into the episode, which made me take way more time on the episode than I usually would. Comparatively, episode 10, the video posted just a week later, is my least favorite because I had the least amount of time to work on it. Even though it wasn’t up to my usual standard in quality (that an older version of me would’ve redone and over edited), I still released it and it ended up doing better than episode 9. Just remember that every video is not your magnum opus. Eventually, just by making videos, you’ll release something really great! But that will only be after consistent practice. Honestly, the best advice I can give you is remain consistent and the quality will grow. You don’t have to post weekly or even every other week. Just find a spacing between videos that works for you and try your hardest to keep consistent. Other advice: - edit while you make your video. It will make the editing process 10 times faster, you will be way less drained, and you can make sure that you’re following the same through line. - keep a consistent through line. Center your video around one thing, like a build, or an activity and make sure that everything you do in that video builds up to that. - Watch the content that you want to make. Obviously, don’t steal from other creators, but watch what other creators are doing, learn from their mistakes, and take inspiration from the things that you like that they’re doing.
