Hey, Kay. You could always paint the insides of your cabinets with an order-blocking clear primer! I recently inherited some of my grandma's wooden dressers and other furniture pieces and they all thoroughly smells like "old lady hous" lol. I gave them a good clean and wiped them out with a diluted vinegar solution. That helped greatly, but then I ended up purchasing a odor-blocking primer and now there's no smell. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure when 'seasonal decorating' became a thing, but I've seen a lot of people use it as an excuse to be wasteful every few months buying things every season without reusing. I don't decorate for the autumn as such, but I do enjoy getting my cosy jumpers and blankets back out! Although my real celebration of the seasons is getting outside whenever possible to enjoy natures version. Lovely to see the garden looking so happy

I feel like people could definitely reuse the seasonal decor stuff but I suppose it's there choice and it's their way to feel like home. Also, they probably give it to charity or something because if they don't, their homes will be like full of stuff but Kay's home is beautiful, tidy and feels like home

For your glasses problem, try to put a little bit of baking soda in a cup where you store your glasses. You can even add some drops of essentiel oil of your choice to the baking soda. I don't guaranteed that it's going to work but baking soda has the reputation to absord and to neutralize the smells. Some people even put it in their fridge. ;)

What a way to start my Saturday out! If you had some Holly to put on the mantel would look lovely! It could be used year round and wouldn’t shrivel up like herbs or flowers which drop all over unless you spray them with a clear spray to hold their shape. I usually have to put things like the herbs and flowers in a jar. You should bring some of your catnip for the cats. I bring it in and they roll on it for days! Anyway, try some jolly if you can find it, tie it together and there you go. Another idea would be tying your flowers, holly, etc to grapevines! Good luck!

I had the same problem with my breathing. I have had short haired cats, then I got two long haired cats and after having tests at my drs I found out I was allergic (by only 2%) to my cats. I used stronger antihistamines and my drs gave me a steroid nasal spry to help me, it worked a treat. 😻

The eucalyptus would look lovely for autumn and also winter, just swap out accessories. Your hydrangea would dry nicely in the eucalyptus and you could look for cones or other natural things while on your walks.

I think your wood smelling cupboard is because the washer/dryer is under it. Being an old house it probably isn’t air tight ventilation 🤷🏼‍♀️. Try getting a stand alone moisture catcher in the cupboard. Or an air sponge. I’m not sure if you have those there.

I'm also in the UK - I live in Nottinghamshire - and wanted to decorate for Autumn 🍂 I really wanted to have that lovely cosy vibe, but cannot find anything in the shops.. I've looked in B & M, The Range.. so I was planning on making my own Autumn decorations. I wanted a Autumn garland for my fireplace too - so if the shops don't sell what you want, then maybe have a go at making it. The lovely thing then, is that you'll have something unique at the end of it and the actual making of it will be a lovely Autumn activity too 😊

I love your outfit in this video! So put together but comfy, the perfect combo. For the cupboard, it’s not damp is it? That can increase the wood smell. Perhaps one of those moisture absorbing pods could help/be a good test. You could also try a small bowl of bicarb as that can absorb smells!

Another fab video, Kay! Have you tried a neti pot for your nasal issues? My husband swears by this. The eucalyptus looks great, but unfortunately toxic to cats in any form, same with hydrangeas too. To be fair, there’s not many plants that aren’t toxic to a lesser or greater degree, so always best to google first! I do know that sunflowers, and roses are pretty safe though 🌹🌻👍

How did you know I sooo needed a dose of your beautiful energy and inspiration!! Not to mention virtually cuddles from my boys!! I don’t know why it’s up early but THANK YOU!!🤗🙏🏽😃. Just watched once through, now to watch again to comment along lol! - okay, first, love your outfit and queeeenn! You looked amazing!! Pretty as a picture always, but this was Dom should be taking you on a date level heehee. I am really looking forward to sharing my self-care haul and settling up everything because I agree with you, making that as part of my morning routine will be an energetic and motivating way to start the day! I actually really enjoy cleaning heehee. I was so excited to go over the meal plan, since you didn’t get to it, could that be a future video where you start with the planned then each day/evening go over the plan and do a what I eat/cook with me in a week type video?!😃😄🙏🏽 -. I thought it was funny in the garden when you said the “first” thing you wanted to do was trip up the vine! 🤣 I was literally saying to you “first thing?! You have cleaned up, swept, mopped, did loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom etc lol!! Then I realized you meant in the garden part lol. It was so cute but an aweeee 🥺 moment when the frame fell and scared our overly curious little man 🤗🙏🏽. Can’t wait to see the fall decorating video!! You know i am a fall-winter baby!! - when you were describing what you wanted for the mantel it reminded me of the faux magnolia leaf garlands my Auntie used during the holidays. I found some on Amazon I will share on DM! - as for the cupboard, I was going to suggest taking the doors off and leave them as dish display cabinets so it allows it time to air out?? But, kinda wonder if spiderman Rory might try to jump into any open cabinets which could be… not so good 😱😅! - Solstice was a nose licker heehee. My little exfoliator 🥺🤗🙏🏽🥰. As much as I have so much more to comment on, once again this is getting novel long lol. But a few more things heehee, in true Kayla fashion 🤪… I am actually heading into the city again tomorrow and told mom I would pick up Chinese for us!! Also, grandmother Willow 🥺🤗🙏🏽🥰 Whenever I see you walking with her it makes me feel like she is holding sacred space for our friendship, bridging the distance between us 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 sending love from Canada!

Hi Kay & the gang ...love 💓 your video thank you for sharing another day in your life. Yes your garland looks nice simplicity at its finest. I’m making a few autumnal wreaths and a similar garland just from bits I’ve been collecting. I wanted to ask what eye drops your Rory had if you can remember? My kitten Teddy has eye infection vet give him eye cream drops but so difficult to get it into his eyes. Echo & Rory getting so big & fluffy now if they each sat on your feet they’d make a fabulous cosy pair of slippers lol 😂 xx

Try wiping down your cabinet with distilled white vinegar using a soft cloth. Really let the vinegar soak into the wood to kill any mold or odor. Wipe every corner, shelf and surface. Leave door open to dry and if needed, wipe it down more than once. I hope this helps. Sounds annoying!

Do you own the place? If so I would highly recommend just updating to cabinets.

You may have a deviated septum, which can get worse over time so definitely see your doctor. My son had his surgically corrected and feels like a new person. And yes, I live in a very hot and humid climate 4 months of the year and my long hair is up the entire time! You accomplished a lot this day, you deserve a no-cook night!

I'm thinking the same thing, I will have it checked as it'd be nice to be able to breather properly! 😅 💗 Hehe yay to no cook nights! 🙌🏼

@@Livingthelifeyoulove It could also be nasal polyps. I had them when I was little and had to get them removed surgically (although if they are not too bad a steroid nose spray can help too.) I don't remember much about it, but my mum says she noticed, because I started talking like I had a really bad cold all of a sudden.
