Caratteristiche tecniche: 12 cilindri a V, cilindrata 21.000 cc, potenza CV 677 (Kw 498) a 2.100 g/min, coppia 2100 Nm, biturbo con intercooler. Lavoro effettuato dallo staff della Mercedes Benz Carraro s.p.a. di Nervesa della Battaglia (Treviso - Italy).

Iremember in 1981 we had a mercedes truck 2232 model with a V10 without turbo it had 320 hp. V12 was running in heavy cranes
For example in the Liebherr LTM 1800 & LGD 1550 as Underwagon-Engine also as Driving-Motor!! 👍

OM 442 should be 15068 cc ? 14618 cc belongs to older OM 422.

You can still buy this engine new from MTU . With either 550kw for continuous use or 605kw for variable use. It's use was mostly Off-road. Like the class 628 DMU in Germany or the class 644 or class 611. There were only few on road uses as for heavy haul machinery or a non turbo charged version on the Neoplan Megaliner.
So if you want and your local emission standards and your bank account allow, you can build a truck around that engine and MTU will be happy to supply. Must be a good engine for a road train

We had a wirtgen wr2500 machine in once with that motor in. I believe they use them in large cranes and also a marine version was available too

Like hell you won't ... I've worked on plenty of them in Liebherr cranes, rail applications, road building machinery, and marine applications up and down the Mid Atlantic region of the US. There's plenty of them around.
The best sound is around 7-800 Omdr.
