No way you got a capuccino and 0,5l Beer for only 2$. Especially not in touristic places, but also in general I really doubt it - living in rural germany myself. Capuccino is most times around 3,5€, as well is beer.
Calling our sausages Wiener ist close to a crime :D please call them by their name. It is like calling every burger restaurant in the US mc Donald's. In addition Wiener is German for a person from Vienna :D and on special sausage.
Thanks so very much for your awesome videos. I am a bed bound young 65 year old and wish you could come to Durban in South Africa. Such a diverse culture and cuisine I'm sure you would love it. Look forward to your new videos and I'm catching up on your past ones. Fondest love to you both and you fur baby. Shelly
I tried beer everywhere in Germany, in Berlin, rural areas, big cities, and small towns. everywhere is the same, around 4 euros, and Supermarkets everywhere are exactly same around 1 euros
We were stationed in Germany from 72 to 82 then my dad retired there. Came back stateside in 96. Culture shock. German mustard, ketchup, and mayo taste so different.... German beer is amazing. Now they have to make it organic because round up is banned in Europe. 😊
The beer at 5:38 is called Hasselröder. Hasselrode is a part of Wernigerode and it is quite popular in the whole country. And don't worry about the name, even a lot of germans call it the wrong way if you haven't seen the comercial before
Turns out $10 in rural Germany can get you a pretty authentic slice of life-and maybe a bratwurst or two! 🇩🇪 It's always fascinating to see how far a few bucks can take you around the world.
When you look up the place he went for beer, its 4,8 for that size. I‘m from Germany and the prices seem suspiciously cheep so I went down the rabbit hole 😅 turns out he just fakes it to make it look cheap I guess…

hello drew, thank you so much for making a new video about my home country germany :) tbh i hated your main channel video about germany and all it was about was döner..
Iam sorry but there is so much missinformation in this video lol... its "vienna sausage" so no its not german, you got a beer for 2€? normla price for a .5 is 5€.. Thats not an ambulance sound.. Its not even police, its a random sirene.. You bought candy at a gas station, wich is ALWAYS overpriced.
5:36 It's actually "Hasseroder", meaning a local brewery from Hasserode which is not far away from Wernigerode. Those two letters are old German versions of the small s. I agree though, it does look like a small l or f.
Beer does not cost 7-8 Euros unless you fell victim to a blatant tourist trap. I got 6 pints on Weserstrasse that cost 3 Euros each and afterwards I got a great kebab on Sonnenallee.
We love the Harz area. My wife parents were married in Wernigerode 60 years ago (in the city hall building you mentioned) and we got married there nearly 20 years ago (in the castle) and as a family we go often. Did a Christmas there this year as it’s our favorite Christmas Market. Enjoyed the video but please stop going places Americans don’t know about, those are my spots. :).
it really depends in wich City/ Town you are. In my City you pay like 4-5€ for just a Coffee and 5-6€ for a "Bratwurst" just a SINGLE one and not even that large as in the Video lol. Small Beer about 4-6€. Those prices in the Video looks like it was made before Covid because of the super Cheap prices and before the inflation lol
1:30 yeah if you snail along with 130 km/h on the left lane and don't bother to let people pass, ... well that's on you mate. I know driving on the right lane is a joke for people on most countrys.
Rural places is not obviously touristy places like Quedlinburg. 😊. Also petrol stations are heavily overpriced. You want easy good food :buy fresh bread and sausage on a supermarket for a penny and feed your whole family 😊
I remember when I drove in Germany during my last trip out there and I was going 130 and I was wondering why I felt like I wasn’t going that fast. Then I realized it’s not in miles. It’s in Kilometers. So you were really going 80 miles. When I realized that, I figured people actually don’t go as fast as we think (Americans)
I am late to the party but Schnitzel is Austrian not German, I love that Schnitzel is one of the most favored dishes in Germany without actually being German.

Thank you for bring us to Germany, Drew! awesome video as always! ❤
Is He missing diversity?🤕
Hasseröder is no local beer, it's one of the biggest breweries in Germany
He is drinking it in Wernigerode, so it is local. Brewery is still there even though it is now part of InBev
That sound must be some alarm system (like at a jeweler or something)
Drew binsky always an excellent adventurous man wonderful
"You are gleich um de' Ecke"😂 (the sausage guy).
I had the absolute pleasure of going to Dortmund a few months ago!!! Seeing this makes me want to go back to Germany!

Also I doubt the bratwurst would not be sold at that price, for a couple of sausages of that quality in a town center in a German City.
