Bought 2 Traxxas Slash 4x4vxl’s about 6 months ago as a start to the hobby for my son and I. Paid $425 each for them. With normal usage (ZERO huge jumps or skate parks ) I’m into both cars nearly $500 IN PARTS. Replaced everything on both cars except the speed controllers and servos. Not a cheap hobby. Just the other day I was pondering with a coworker wether or not if guys who buy a $1000 RC like this come out better OR did they buy a 1000 car & still wind up replacing everything like I did? Having 2 of them means every time we have a failure I go ahead and buy the upgrade for both cars. Adds up quick I tell you. Love your content Kevin 👋🏼

KT, for tyres I ended up using MadMax 5ive-T beadlock mini pins, (stick 5ive-T tyres will work as well), w/duct tape on the inside. A bit smaller, but no ballooning or de-gluing. Also went with a Reefs 1/5 scale servo, which did require some chassis mods, but well worth it.

That 3D printed wing mount was printed in the wrong orientation. It should have been printed vertically so it won't rely on the layers to hold it together.
The $1k price tag makes this video even better.

Have you noticed the elastomer wearing out quickly? I’ve been installing GPM aluminum Cush housings and find they work a lot better. GPM also make a mod 1.5 pinion and spur for the Xmaxx stock system and so far I’ve found them to be excellent, planning on doing the same for the xrt

Play around with steering gyros and motocross tracks. You'll have a lot more fun with the bigger trucks.

the hole inte bottom is for airflow so the servo doesnt overheat
And for little rocks so they dont get stuck between the steering assembly

The front and rear upper bulkheads are a weak point as well. I had to replace mine after 4 battery packs.
Wasn’t happy about that.

The vents on the bottom are for venting the servo, the Traxxas ones are very weak and crap out easily.

My favorite part is how you did all those upgrades and didn’t get a single mph gain. That had to hurt just a little.

Hey Kevin I love your videos mate u have helped save the community alit of money and headache with your bashing and review videos so thank you for that. I see the nge pins from m2c don't you think they are a rip off u need 2 packs of them for 1 truck costing well over $100 us for that when rpm has them for 10 bucks they do the same job correct?? Also the bellcrank is just 2 pieces of plastic and aluminum tubes when vitavon gives you a full aluminum bellcranck for about the same price seems to be way better bang for your buck could u do a review on both bellcrancks for the xrt please I want the community to know they don't have to get ripped off I'm my opinion for m2c bellcranck cause it seems like that is being pushed as 1 of the only options for the bellcranck issue. Keep up the good work brother bash on!!!!

I adapted an extra strap on both the front and rear bulkheads after breaking the plastic that has no metal. rear was far easier than the front... if I were to do it again id just get the metal ones
