I have this door lock, but with an RFID reader. I am very satisfied and the installation was very easy. I've often thought about the Yale door lock and whenever I read user feedback, I've given up. Same problems year after year. The locks stop working when the warranty is over. Customer problems are not answered, it is recommended to buy a new lock, etc. Problematic topics were deleted from the Facebook page. If it is the only entrance, sometimes the only option left is to break down the door. Why doesn't Yale add a physical key?!
That door looks nice! But is that just a single latch bolt holding it shut? I don't have a fancy electronic lock, but when I lock my door with the key, there are two additional latches way above and below, pulling the door tightly to the frame.
Hi! When you close the door, there is also a hook that releases into the end piece together with the latches in the door frame. This hook is very strong and made out of solid material. It is also tamper proof to withstand anyone trying to break it :)
Having a backup for your finger print is a good thing. I am always uncomfortable with an access code you can't change. If your fingerprint is cloned somehow you can't change it.
You think too good about yourself or your house. I don’t think that someone capable to “clone” your fingerprint would go to that trouble for you property. Or maybe you work at Fort Knox or something similar.
@@notverygoodguy Then of course you can’t be interested in these type of locks, they are not for professional use. If your fingerprint is compromised you just delete it from the system. Hardly a real security concern for normal people.
If they are serious about their locks they should include the lockpickinglawyer and not just some random dudes in their tests, he is indeed a true ninja. For all we know they cheaped out on the lock cylinder and used something cheap like the lock sold on Apple Store. Regarding the "always open" from the inside: How is this with kids in the house, you wouldt want them to just wonder off and exit the house? I have a Yale Classic myself, and the traditional locking mechanism on the inside is a good thing in this regard.
yes but you would see 4 number. that is 24 potential positions of the numbers. way more than the 3 or 5 attempts before it locks down. if you choose 6 digit code, the number is 720
Yes, most likely :) The scandinavian standard has been the same since 1985, so we fit on 98% of doors produced after this. To make sure, measure the front on your mortise (Låskasse) and see if it is 225mm in height. If it is, it should fit.
Bjorn, you have safety and security mixed up. Two totally different concepts. Also, your door may be locked but the window next to it look flimsy, it's as good as a door that you just break open. I would reinforce that with a steel frame.
Then again that will likely also trigger the motion detector by the alarm system once inside the hallway. While an alarm system wont fully prevent a burglary either, it will scare off most, and will also reduce the amount being stolen since security company is on their way to the house once alarm is triggered.
Hi! Not sure exactly what you mean, but do you refer to a 3-point mortise? If thats the case, yes. We will most likely fit without much hassle :) Best regards Glenn from nimly
Hi! That is possible but I would make sure to check if your door is compatible with this lock beforehand as these locks are tailored for scandinavian doors. More specifically the mortise has to fit in the door😊
The three AA batteries lasts for approximately one year with "normal" usage counting two adults and two children using it every day. Also dependant on temprature😊
I have the code one with RFID reader, installed it in November 22 and just replaced the batteries. At least 3-4 lock/unlock a day or more (Have kids that lock and unlock it while they wait for us to get ready to go out). Just got the Connect Module and will install it once the Homey Pro arrives, this will probably use more battery, but still takes no time at all to replace them.

This is the lock picking lawyer and what I have for you today ... 😂
I hope they are better than the "smart" locks that the Lock Picking Lawyer has easily opened. Send him one and see how good they really are.
Have you asked Lockpicking Lawyer (TH-cam channel) if they are Fort Knox quality?
Maybe Master Lock quality..😊
@MichaelEricMenk that would be a video of 2 minutes then.

Faster than key or pick. .
Yes indeed - just watched him raking and bumping an expensive lock from Apple store
As soon as I saw the title of the video I wanted to make the same comment.. lol
Please do a follow up video and test the smart connect module and connect hub from Nimly

They have it in iceland well there is a company selling it
The code will be 999 999 ;)
Interesting ! Now their site is put on my "potential house updates"-list !
Wouw, exactly what I’m looking for. Unfortunately not available in Germany 😢

that would be the door feature not depending on the lock.
Cmon sell in UK, fingerprints and numbers don't have language barriers. I want

Would be great if the fingerprint reader was placed so you could press it while grabbing the handle.
Not really a problem at all.
Wouldn’t it be easy for someone to figure out what code you have by checking the marks that you leave on it after entering the same code many times?
You can also use a thermal camera if some has just entered - even the order of the digits can be determined by the order they cool.

Do you fancy doing an intermediary service for these? Like you proposed for Stormberg.

Our door lock needs to be turned twice so that the bolts lock into the doorjamb all around the door. Could this device handle that?

As of now we support both BLE and Zigbee 3.0 through a wide range of smart home suppliers including our own app. The bluetooth app will come later :)

Exactly. Excellent insulation.
Open with a powerful magnet, not safe for sure
That was the case for some Yale models. Nimly uses mechanical lock and can't be opened with a magnet. Sorry!
I would not openly talk about my locks
Why?
