The pre-purchase meal option is a brilliant feature! What a great concept, as is the geothermal-based heating/cooling system. This is such a beautifully designed home. The kitchen countertops are gorgeous - the perfect foil for all the black. The burled maple coffee table is a stunning example of clean linear furniture design, and complements the entire living space. The (moss?) green loveseat is an inspiration, keeping in perspective the natural surroundings, and playing off the chairs on the patio. The sofa goes well with the well-appointed kitchen, creating both a tie-in with that area and a focal point for the entire living space. That birchwood ceiling is amazing, especially since birch seems to be a very underused wood, so it's nice to see an entire ceiling made from that material. The floor is certainly unique, but in a very good way. And that fireplace! Another brilliant feature and great concept - and how easily convenient to have the canisters as the fire source. The hosts have really outdone themselves in creating the wonderful home. Thank for for sharing this luxury B&B. I hope you return during the late spring/summer/early autumn so that the house can be seen in its arboreal setting. Oh, and love the outfit - that shirt/jacket is perfect for late autumn. I am sure the company will make equally as dapper attire for your warmer-weather return (hint, hint).
Some may ask, "Why not a real woodburning fireplace?" I have one, covered with natural rock... wood ash gets everywhere when I clean out the fireplace, the house is always dusty. No soot, no ash, is why everybody uses gas fireplaces now (this one sounds like it runs on something similar to Sterno.)

This one is very cool. I absolutely love the picture windows everywhere. And I love that. The interior design is not competing with the nature views. I do think they need some cozier looking rugs though.

I would have gone for more comfortable hanging basket chairs; the wooden swings are to make you feel like a child again, not to relax in. The reason you don't see those more often is that it requires a lot of space around it to keep people from hitting the furniture, i.e. it wouldn't fit in my house even with my 25 foot high ceiling.

Total fail on the hot tub placement though because it impedes on that sides bedroom with it being all glass walls, but the main living room area is super cool and must provide a very fun time for social gatherings with main room and porch being front and center of the driveway. very inviting type vibe. Interesting house, but being where it is, it seems like a lot of the porch items and a lot of the glass will get splashed and wet in rainstorms. Some of the windows come right up against the ground as well, not sure why they didn't raise it slightly to prevent it from constant water and mud splash. It seems like you'd had to have someone cleaning the outside windows fairly often. I've been in a lot of Air BnB's where they don't clean the giant picture windows and it really defeats the purpose of the view. Also, a bit of a platform would have given you a lot more room for modern decking of some sort to integrate the hot tub instead of having to walk out to the edge of the woods, that doesn't give off luxury vibes to me. The name of the place having to be under where the door mat goes is odd, you could have made any other sort of concrete marker area for it instead of where you need traction to get in the door. It feels like the outside portion was not thought out as well beyond the shape and window concept, it doesn't blend style or form with the land and amenities around it. The interiors are great though, the swings are a bit silly looking but interesting for a strictly air BNB. The rest of the interior looks great. It feels like they went all out inside, and skimped on the outside.
Here in Oregon, if it's withing 24 inches of the ground, code requires tempered glass. I'm tempted to replace the bottom 24" of my floor-to-ceiling glass with built in storage benches. Gotta make sure it's waterproof first though.
I don't know where you shop for liquor, but every liquor store where I live has one standard door, with virtually no windows, to make a smash-and-grab impossible. This house has floor-to-ceiling windows letting in tons of natural light, and making a standard smash-and-grab unthinkable.
@@Mark723 Yeah, liquor stores are designed to maximize shelf space, hence they tend to cover any existing glass with shelving. Sunlight is bad for most liquors, that's why they dark tint the bottles.
Isn't that "closet" actually a wardrobe? Honestly, I can't find anything not to like about this place, except that it looks very expensive... Yep, checked ouit the booking link. $585 for one night. More expensive than the vacation rental next door to me that sleeps 14 people... and that's overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Very beautiful, very expensive... I'll save my money for paying off my mortgage.
They were going for a 5 star experience, and they spent the money to make it so. I wouldn't have gone with the indoor swings because they use up too much space, but everything else is awesome design. They can always take the swings out; they seem a little unsafe with concrete floors.
