Ridge Racer 7 is a racing video game developed by Namco Bandai Games for the PlayStation 3. It was released in Japan and North America by Namco Bandai Games in 2006 and PAL territories by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2007. The seventh mainline installment in the Ridge Racer series, it was developed as a launch title for the console. The game has around 40 cars, many of which return from Ridge Racer 6 and the PSP incarnations of the game. There are also 22 courses, available in forward, reverse and mirror mode. The game runs at 1080p native resolution and 60 frames per second. It also features Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and free online gameplay via the PlayStation Network.
The game was first unveiled at the 2006 E3 event in a teaser trailer, and the first trailer of game footage was shown at the 2006 Tokyo Game Show. Like many other games in the series, it features a full motion video opening that stars Reiko Nagase.
I absolutely loved this game when i was little and I still play it sometimes! So sad that this game was the last of its kind
So nice!
Man, its so cool seeing klonoa signs on ridge racer, bamco barely does anything with both franchises nowadays
I think this was the last Ridge Racer game. It's also a very good one.
The last mainline game is actually Unbounded, although it's more akin to Burnout/Split Second.
Incredible that this game runs at 1080p 60fps.
Yes with ps2 graphics
@@STRAIGHT_BUSTALol no, get your eyes checked
@@Carlito_Brigante93looks exactly the same as Gran Turismo 4 on the Ps2 despite the resolution
@@STRAIGHT_BUSTA I mean it kinda makes sense that it was 2006 when this game came out and the 7th gen consoles just been there in the shelves since a year at that time. So, in just a span of 1 year I don't think you can make the groundbreaking differences in the visual fidelity. And of course GT4 was a year old at that point. But, ngl despite all these flaws, the game still looks good even compared to *SOME* racing games that came in PS3, and even same goes for GT4.
@@STRAIGHT_BUSTA Output your PS2 at 1080i in GT4 than you will see the big difference
Oh, man! Ridge Racer 7 is going to be history! Ridge Racer 30th year anniversary! I love that sound of that
So disappointing this has to be stuck on previous two generations like this!
I guess the pseudo sim obsession tool over. And what was left of arcade became Horizon, etc.
But these types are back in Indie.
Great memories of this game. First game I had for the PS3 along with Resistance: Fall of Man. I feel that was at the peak of enjoyment for video games before I had to start being an 'adult' 😂. Wish this was available for PS5 through Plus.
How do you activate 3d effect? I mean stereoscopic 3d.
Sorry if this is out of loop with the video but nobody haven't answer this and I cannot find any solution.
Where is the musicc??
Are you playing in PS3 or PC ?
希望这个赛车游戏系列还能有新作。
I will always be a fan of Ridge Racer, I don't know, why Namco abandoned their number one racing game, when it is love by so many people around the world, instead of making it better as time goes on.
why do i remember this game both looking better and worse than before
a remaster of this along with killzones, motorstorms, etc
Must admit, I prefer the announcer and UI on the PSP games. Haven't played this one but something looks off about the gameplay.
Exactly man, I mean i was playing ridge racer 2 after playing R4 and i was so happy playing it. At some point, i admit, it kinda felt that like, I'm playing the same map 3-4 times (as this game every time tricks you to play reverse and sometimes the same map, same layout but different weather.) But, made total sense in terms of hardware limitations as psp had to offer. And, gotta say after I got the outro, the real game actually started when the game gave the outro in midst of pro tour, and starts you with duel matches, and gotta say the difficulty is definitely harder than the easy races with the 12 opponent racers. And i think it's pretty cool that the psp counter part has aged a lot better (except, the car model textures, but again, hardware limitations!) than the riste racer 6 and 7, and *_OFCOURSE_* unbounded, its disappointing that the one who made flatout ultimate carnage failed to make a *FREAKING* ridge racer game, like WHAT, but nvm, I hope you enjoyed this post, and have a good day ;)
@@Crazyfellow2005 Well since my original comment I've played Ridge Racer 7 and while I do like it, it does feel different to RR PSP and the AI even in the early GPs can be infuriatingly hard. I unlocked everything in the PSP games but not sure if I will for 7.
@@JtothePrez hmm, I've played just R4 and ridge racer both 1&2 of psp only, then I was diverted towards old classic nfs games, and according to me as far I've seen RR7 gameplay walkthrough, the duels are freaking hard look wise, idk I can NOT play the game due to not having consoles right now, but when I'll do, I'll gonna play the game, thanks.
