- Thank you guys for checking out the video!!! I should have just flown this at the track from the start. I told myself I was going to kill the throttle sooner but it was just too late already. She was slightly nose heavy, but nothing too crazy. I am not perfect, and I learned a huge lesson. Minimal damage on the wing connection point to the fuse and one of the steering wires snapped. More pride loss than anything, but I feel redeemed after having this successful maiden flight!! Below you will find a list of everything I used for this build. Thank you guys again for everything. Love the jump for joy after the successful flight! Know exactly what that feels like after putting in a lot of time, effort and hard earned cash and finally getting that reward! These victories are hard earned and take persistence to achieve. I appreciate this, even with much less expensive models it can be daunting putting something that cost 3 or 4 hundred dollars in the air that first time, let alone something that costs several times that.

Che.... nice flight! Flaps are critical for takeoff with many airplanes. Use about 10° to 15° of flaps for takeoff and you will know what happened on the first takeoff. Great channel, nice video! Nice landing!

Im so glad to see that you finally got this project finished and in the air. Im sure that first attempt was a heartbreaker when you ran out of room. Excellent job on the scale details on your cockpit! She is a beautiful bird and with a few flights you will be yankin and banking with it. The same with the slow down for approach, it will come with some practice and you already greased that maiden landing. Super proud of you!

I use 15 degrees of flaps for takeoff. To check the CG, I see how much forward stick it takes to fly level while inverted. I want to hold just a little forward stick, not a lot, and it’s tail heavy if it climbs..

That’s one beautifully turned out jet, absolutely gorgeous!! I was nervous and I’m just looking at pixels. 10 seconds before you said it was flying heavy I mumbled to no one in particular “that looks like it’s flying heavy”. A big step up and apparently more than worth the effort my friend; I’m continually amazed at the courage and confidence required to put something of such cost and beauty into the air but so glad you did. Job well done on the build and flight!!! Ciao.

Hey man, nice maiden, i came here after watching your Edf setup video, great flight over all but your Edf is rated for 5-6kg thrust which in actual will be less than 5kg, and your jet weighs 6.8kg as per the info above, i mean just my personal opinion your L39 is underpowered, anything less than 1:1 on typical sport type Jets = no fun. I think this is the reason you had hard time lifting off on the first run and on the second run it looked underpowered too, can it still fly well at less than 1:1 ratio? Hell yeah! Is it fun? Not sure. I think Your L39 is screaming for a 105 or 120mm edf. Great stuff though, keep it coming :)
Hello sir, I agree with you, she’s heavier than I anticipated. I actually didn’t think I would go above 12lbs on the model but I was 3lbs off. I’m thinking of getting the vassy 90mm on 14s, which would be more than enough for this model. Thank you 💯👍🏽✌🏽 I knew as soon as she wouldn’t fly great @ half throttle.
