Exactly - Marco is a great jackler, however it appears he struggles with tackling and is far too slow around the field to be starting in a game. BJD is a good tackler when he gets there but again a little too slow at international level. So the Bok 6/7 starting combo for that game was always going to struggle with respect to speed around the field which directly affects defense capability.

It was a bad day from a number of individuals(particularly defensively), which Argentina capitalized on with good play. Despite Argie scrum going terrible, the actual scrums they gave away were rarely in critical parts of the field. Lukhanyo Am, Malcolm Marx pretty much the worst games I've seen them play. Ben-Jason Dixon invisible after the first 20, when usually he's a workhorse. Pollard and many others missing tackles you wouldn't expect them to. I feel the squad as a whole found its feet well, after that blitz by Argies in first half abd Arendse returned to the field. Just as we were regaining momentum, control, Libbok came on and pulled the handbrake for the Boks with all his errors constantly costing us momentum.
Which game did you watch there Matthew??. Yes, Libbok missed the one touch kick and the one kick at posts (so did Pollard) but, apart from that, he had a good game with his positional plays and getting the line going. We lost that game with all the unforced errors, missed tackles and not scoring when we had the opportunities. Look at our possession/ball in hand stats and tell me why we couldn't convert points from that? @@matthewvanrensburg3824
I think we need to praise the Pumas and how they have managed to play and win the games that they usually dont, the game against All Blacks and the one just gone with the Springboks showed how they can play both types of rugby, loose, fast back line running and set plays along with tight slugfest rucks and armwrestle with forwards to hold out a boks team that prides itself of the grinding of 1 poin test wins. but what it does prove is that the boks have a 1 set of maybe 26/29 players not quite the depth of 2 starting XV's and a bench
He needs to use a shorter kicking tee. The ball is too high up off the ground and he’s losing accuracy. Haven’t heard anyone mention this only his technique but how he sets the ball up and what tee he uses also plays a big part. Try a shorter tee
Australia being cast in ''the big 3''. NOT for decades. This is the greatest time to be watching rugby. The recent World Cup showed how good the game is when it's played expansively, the running game, letting the ball sing, the game they play in heaven. Rugby played this way pisses on every other team sport played. The upsets will keep coming. How good. The back line moves remind me of club/school rugby here in Oz in the 60-80's. We were coached to run it from everywhere, try line to try line. With variations including switches, blind side winger off the 5/8th or inside centre, full back in with scissor move to create hole between the centers, having the out center stand in line with the farther goal post to bring the defence in so as to give your most attacking players to the fore ie wingers with space, one-on-one with their opposite and then the cover. To watch all that reborn across the globe is fantastic. Long live letting the ball sing.
Nothing new, Manie has missed many for the Stormers when ball more square to poles (being a professional kicker, one would think it would have been corrected by now??). Thanks for the great podcast guys.
Eben’s about to become the most capped Springbok, and honestly, the scariest thing isn’t his tackle-it’s that he’s probably still growing! 💪🤣 By the time he hits 200 caps, he’ll be scrumming entire teams by himself. Congrats to the man who’s made more opponents regret life choices than any other Bok!
Great summary of braai 'etiquette' ...Manie is a great player but unfortunately not a complete player (yet). We need a specialist kicker. We've got two and feel we need one more ...takes on injury and depth is lacking.
Boys next time when you make a traditional braai broodjie mix butter origanum garlic and fresh chopped chilli. Spread on the inside with your cheese onion and tomato you use chutney. We don't put any sauces maybe sweet chilli. What we do is braai cheese grillers rashers and ribs for snacks before the main braai with lamb chops boerewors mielies and braai broodjies. Best braai you eat off the braai
The moment manie stepped onto the field I went an started the fire, guy come on how many chances? Moerat the same he's just not a bok, when is masuku going to get a chance, if you need a back up in locks for the time being until viking and stein are back bjd has to be in, yes I get and understand that we should never as a team lost that and never have put ourselves in a position to loose but seriously get rid of libbok and moerat already
Unfortunately I agree with you 100%. There are so many more potential captains that could do a better job. Same with libbok. He might be able to be a playmaker but he can't kick under pressure.
29:35 - Manie was a fantastic flyhalf. This past weekend in Argentina he completely changed his style of play and simply looked like just another body on the field. I assume due to the new attacking plan, but Manie was like a fish out of water.
@@sandorclegane3658 I never said that there was anything wrong with him passing the ball, but he generally creates line breaks and kick passes, etc that leads to great tries or at least close to that. What about at the dying stages. Shimmie was saying the Boks just need to get a scrum penalty, and Mannie should knock it over... As soon as he said that I knew he had put the mockers on poor Mannie.
Agreed, Manie is an awesome player. I am stoked he is starting on Saturday. And hopefully he will sort out his kicking. I hope on Saturday he played out his shoes

Agree. He strikes the ball well but he has a sweeping motion coupled with the high tee, which makes the travel of the ball vary a lot more.
Please1st time commentor, long time fan. Brilliant show guys🍻. Please could you guys get Frans Steyn on the show
Australia being cast in ''the big 3''.
Richard Bands quickest Prop I know
Scored the greatest individual front rower try of all time
Jaaa or Neee 😂😂 love the show gents!
Lekka manne geniet die braai. Thanks for the lekker chats you put on.
Fire after the braai is called 'atmosvuur'
Great summary of braai 'etiquette' ...Manie is a great player but unfortunately not a complete player (yet). We need a specialist kicker. We've got two and feel we need one more ...takes on injury and depth is lacking.
I've grilled in the middle of the NFL season and I know it gets colder in New York than inglan. My fire/s never went out.
Great show thanks guys!!Can Shimi please tell us why he got banned from uber
Frans Steyn on the show next week please!
Ja of nee kills me everytime
This show is the greatest thing to happen to rugby media. Get Swys on.
Oh my god 😂 they are South African and braii isn’t something that you can only eat in SA . It’s ingredients you can get anywhere
@@SmcdMcd-d2kughh...how annoying. It's braai btw not braii.
@@wot4922 whatever . It’s just meat
@@SmcdMcd-d2k Actually it's not just meat. Here the 'braaibroodjie' is being discussed... no meat involved in this comment 🙄
@@vivb5180 yeah pal, you can get that in the Netherlands
The moment manie stepped onto the field I went an started the fire, guy come on how many chances? Moerat the same he's just not a bok, when is masuku going to get a chance, if you need a back up in locks for the time being until viking and stein are back bjd has to be in, yes I get and understand that we should never as a team lost that and never have put ourselves in a position to loose but seriously get rid of libbok and moerat already
Unfortunately I agree with you 100%. There are so many more potential captains that could do a better job. Same with libbok. He might be able to be a playmaker but he can't kick under pressure.
@@matthewdeetlefs2611 libbok past his due date...does not belong in the SA squad at all
Schalkie your analysis is penetrating insightful. Future coach perhaps ? 😂
THANKS FOR THE GREAT SHOW
Bring Bakkies as a guest.
Shame Shimi. Have some regard for Jean. Sounds like he almost kakked his lungs out. 🙂
Jean once won bronze at the Boland championships in sprints at Coetzenberg
Schalk Brits to replace Schalk Burger. Or Schalk Besuidenot
you guys are missing Beast for a sprinter. Great memories of him putting the foot down once in a while.
Mannie rushed his kick ,give a break .
he does not belong in the team
@@DB-ot2crah another stupid who thinks he knows more than Rassie
BEast was quick as well
I'll be ready this Saturday for the game at 11am
🙋♂️ Im ok with being the best defensive side in the world. Please bring back our solid aggressive defense. We dont need to play flashy rugby.
29:35 - Manie was a fantastic flyhalf. This past weekend in Argentina he completely changed his style of play and simply looked like just another body on the field. I assume due to the new attacking plan, but Manie was like a fish out of water.
Nonsense. He was distributing well, and his kicks in play were great.
he is SO bad...kindergarden...does not belong in the team...
@@sandorclegane3658 I never said that there was anything wrong with him passing the ball, but he generally creates line breaks and kick passes, etc that leads to great tries or at least close to that. He did nothing that he normally does, which is why I said that it is probably due to the new attacking plan by Tony. It does however then take away the one thing that made Manie good
@@sandorclegane3658 He threw hospital passes and missed kick to touch and the corner, what you talking about? And all that sideways, pointless running to nowhere, putting his own team out of position?
Who to bring on the show next week?
Maybe Plumtree to give some insight how the sharks turned things around, his thoughts on New Zealand in TRC, what he thinks his players contribute towards the Boks. If he could pick any Bok player from another franchise who would it be and why?
Great call gentlemen, there is absolutely no need for some of the abuse going Libbok’s way, it’s a team sport where poor defence and leaking more tries in 20 minutes than we have in 4 games against the Wallabies and ABs …
I don’t agree about van Staden, he missed crucial tackles that directly led to tries and just too slow generally!
Oaks missed the boat for a 5 hour braai with 15min snippets per hour...
That ending was pure chaos 😂😂😂
Imagine a world where you colab with the Keo and Zels show next week! Extend the episode because there will be lots to talk about. I would miss Schalk in that episode though.
Keo would be ok. Zels doesn't know kak.
@@sandorclegane3658Zels drives me nuts, he is stuck in 1990 😂
Shimmie, if you’re commentating this week, PLEASE don’t call for the Argies to get back into the game. You did it last week and they delivered in spades!
What about at the dying stages. Shimmie was saying the Boks just need to get a scrum penalty, and Mannie should knock it over... As soon as he said that I knew he had put the mockers on poor Mannie.
The rugby guy needs to be on the show at some stage, will be vibes!
You guys need to get Eben Etzebeth in for next week's session
Baie goeie show hierdie week.
As a Bok fan I can see this is the beginning of the end for our luck getting tight wins
Finally, a saffer recognising that there tends to be an element of luck involved when winning by 1 pt.
A c team in hot humid conditions deserve an off day and trying different style of play .. no luck
@@abeaslan7603 Your 'C' team?? lol cope harder

Lood or Appels(Gio Aplon) for next show, rugby iq on those guys, next level.
Agreed, Manie is an awesome player. I am stoked he is starting on Saturday. And hopefully he will sort out his kicking. I hope on Saturday he played out his shoes
he does not belong in the team at all
Esterhuisen like a man on fire then says he thought he would never see the cup :) Argie 10 had a stormer and controlled the game beautifully.. Moerat offers nothing at line outs. Pollard to 12 when Maanie comes on we cant miss these kicks
