Wow...torrential rain, hail, and snow within hours? This was an epic hike indeed. Just the fact that you guys made it back safely to camp through the severe weather was impressive. I did the hike to Fuego last summer, but your trek was something else!
@@WanderwithXander Exhausting and brutal. It didn't help that I didn't wear proper hiking boots and have enough snacks. But I'm so proud of myself for making it : )
Hi, the exact same thing happened to me; the weather was terrible and the footage at the top of Acatanango almost unusable. I was able to edit together a video from footage but I was gutted that I didn't have that epic shot of the peak of the volcano. Never mind these things happen. New subscriber here. 🙂
We have the clearest days in january, but are the coldest days though.. November and december are also good but not every day like in january... february starts to get a little random and march and april is warmer but more cloudy... from may to october we have high probability of rain in the afternoons, with a few weeks of good weather in july and august.
Thanks! Yeah, we were with multiple guides and they said it we should go and the weather would be clear. Guess they made a miscalculation, but we were at 4000m so the weather can change so fast. That probably played a big part! Thanks for watching!
Great outdoor adventure, but yeah it is a mean thing to summit through the rainy season with all the wind, rain, and clouds. But you guys are brave adventurers ;) Another really awesome video. Stay safe out there. Best wishes, Mario
I don't get it. What is it that you can't check when is rainy season in Guatemala.? April to September! and it's unforgiven. And I don't understand those tours that don't advice people that they won't see much during rainy season, but are quick to take their hard earned cash.
Well, the thing is I guess, most mornings are really clear! So in my opinion, most of the days its still worth going up there. But of course, you are never guaranteed views!
Hey Xander!
Super vette plannen
Increíble!!
Jullie zijn echte doorzetters, gelukkig is alles goed afgelopen.
Stunning outdoor adventure on live Vulcano! Guatemala Rocks indeed!!amazing Country and lovely film!

Thanks for documenting your experience. Now you have to go back, try Feb or March
You're more than welcome! Thats when the weather is better?
Is beautiful 🔥
Thank you!!

I can imagine! It took us two times to get it 😅 Nice, will check it out! Thanks!
@@WanderwithXander at least you got it the second time. I'll just have to settle for the one time with the disappointing view. 🤣
Haha yes very happy about the second time! Maybe one day you can return!

I’ve done it in wet season and still had windows of clear views and was able to summit. I also did it in dry season and it rained sometimes.
